Hello, Dear Ones!
Let me say it again...
OH! MY! LORD!
Yes siree Bob!
Look what I found for $20!!
I have admired these kinds of canister sets for so long.
Sweet little lids.
I did find out that they are made by Royal Sealy and the pattern is called Heritage Blue Onion and probably were produced around the 1950s.
Aren't these wonderful canisters?
I'm totally in love with them!
Can you love olden canisters?
Why you bet your sugar lumps you can!
I'm totally in love with them!

I got a couple of little extra treats:
a napkin holder
and...
a darling tea pot!!
You could say I'm on Cloud Nine at the moment!!
Can I please say it again...
OH! MY! LORD!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Top of the World
Such a feelin's comin' over me
There is wonder in most everything I see
Not a cloud in the sky
Got the sun in my eyes
And I won't be surprised if it's a dream
Everything I want the world to be
Is now coming true especially for me
And the reason is clear
It's because you are here
You're the nearest thing to heaven that I've seen
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world
Something in the wind has learned my name
And it's tellin' me that things are not the same
In the leaves on the trees and the touch of the breeze
There's a pleasin' sense of happiness for me
There is only one wish on my mind
When this day is through I hope that I will find
That tomorrow will be just the same for you and me
All I need will be mine if you are here
I'm on the top of the world lookin' down on creation
And the only explanation I can find
Is the love that I've found ever since you've been around
Your love's put me at the top of the world

They still sit in my kitchen...I have seen one or two pieces of the canisters by alone but never the whole set. ReplyDeleteWow! What a sweet deal! I've been wanting an old German set that is in a shop we stop at when we're traveling to a vacation area. It's cream with black silhouettes of fairies dancing, but it's $100 and I keep hoping it will go on sale. We both know how this story will end. Somebody else is going to buy it. :@

ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteHi! Coming over from Rhoda's. I have the same canister set (circa mid sixties). While my mom was pregnant with me, she stood in line week after week at the local grocery store (New York) to redeem stamps her purchases earned. You could trade the stamps for pieces of this set! I have fond memories of searching for loose change in them! Mom would remind us, “I stood on line while pregnant to get those!” I have them now. Enjoy! It was a treat to see them at Rhoda’s today.
I saw a picture of your canisters on Southern Hospitality. My grandmother had that cookie jar when I was a little girl. Seeing that brought back so many wonderful memories from years ago. Thanks!
