Hello, Dear Ones!
It seems the last few Saturdays I've been sharing vintage glassware with you.
Pyrex and Fire King.
This week it's Pyrex again.
But I didn't find these at a thrift shop or garage sale.
I purchased these sweet little Pyrex bowls brand new at Mervyns in 1987.
Member Mervyns?
Rather modern and the pattern is called Red Cherries, I think.
I use these bowls every day for one thing or the other.
Three little clear glass bowls ~ work horses.
I love my clear glass Red Cherries Pyrex bowls.
I just had to poke a few little things in them so they could show off!
You know how Pyrex bowls are! :)
I'm joining The Tablescaper for Seasonal Sunday
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
If I Knew You Were Coming I'd Have Baked A Cake
Come in
Well, well, well, look who's here
I haven't seen you in many a year
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
baked a cake, baked a cake
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do
Had you dropped me a letter, I'd a-hired a band
Grandest band in the land
Had you dropped me a letter, I'd a-hired a band
And spread the welcome mat for you
Oh, I don't know where you came from
'cause I don't know where you've been
But it really doesn't matter
Grab a chair and fill your platter
And dig, dig, dig right in
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Hired a band, goodness sake
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
baked a cake, baked a cake
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do
Had you dropped me a letter
I'd a-hired a band
Grandest band in the land
Had you dropped me a letter
I'd a-hired a band
Spread the welcome mat for you
Oh, I don't know where you came from
'Cause I don't know where you've been
But it really doesn't matter
Grab a chair and fill your platter
And dig, dig, dig right in
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Hired a band, goodness sake
If I knew you were comin' I'd've baked a cake
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do
Howd-ya do, howd-ya do, howd-ya do
Howd-ya do-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
Well, well, well, look who's here

Shelia, I love the cherries and have not seen that pattern before. I recently took a photo of some pyrex and need to share it-you have inspired me. hugs, olive
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern on these bowls. Mervyns I've not heard of, it must have been located other places or was called something different in VA.
ReplyDeleteMy pyrex bowl set is plain and it would be much more fun to use them if they had a cute pattern like yours.
I love your Pyrex bowls with cherries, absolutely perfect! I never heard of Mervyn's, they must not have been in Virginia. Isn't it fun to have something we love and can use every day?! Hey, I really like that you're writing your own songs now, you're quite gifted like that, you know :) Will you be setting them to music soon ... and going to Nashville to cut a record, er, um, I mean burn a CD? You are soooo talented - love your new banner pics for this month. Hugs ~ Mary
ReplyDeleteI thought of you the other day while at a flea market. Like if I found some I could ship them to you.
ReplyDeleteOh how pretty. Yes, I remember Mervyns, that was a fun store. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteI love these. Speaking of Pyrex, I have an old double boiler that I love and wanted a second one. Would you believe almost nothing new in Pyrex is to be found anymore!
