Hello Dear Ones!
I hope you all had a marvelous Easter Sunday with your family and friends.
We had a wonderful day of celebration and eating! :)
Speaking of eating, seems I always wind up in the kitchen.
I've washed and put away all the dirty dishes and decided I'd
play in my corners again and wanted to show you what I've done.
All of this was accomplished while I was eating two cookies!
I'm so talented like that, you know. :)
Here's my precious little house cookie jar flanked by the salt and peppers in this corner.
I saw these years ago at Marshalls and just fell head over heels (that's really hard to do, you know) and bought all the pieces I could find.
Then I found out that Susan at Between Naps on the Porch had all of the dishes to go with these.
I looked my most gorgeous peepers all over to find some of those darling square plates.
Nada! Nothing! No way!
They were totally gone.
I cried a bit but just had to get over the fact I would never had the wonderful sweet squared plates.
: (
I'm okay now, so I'll continue. Here are the cute little salt and peppers.
They look wonderful planted on each side of the little house, don't you think?
One corner down and one more to go! :)
Here's the other corner. I just love my kitchen counter corners.
You may ask, can you love kitchen counter corners?
Well, you bet your stale bread crumbs you can! :)
Isn't this a wonderful piece! A HUGE house pitcher!
We could fill this to the rim with peach tea!
Here's the little guest house creamer but I could be sad again for I do not have the sugar bowl! : (
See that sweet little tray? I think the salt and peppers are supposed to sit on it,
but it could be the bottom of the butter dish.
I DON'T KNOW!
But that's okay because it's Spring and a little bird has built her nest in it.
I see she's already laid some eggs.
Uh oh! Don't get to close.
By the look on her tiny little face, she's quite edgy!
She's saying, "Don't you touch my eggs!"
So my little corner houses will just have to stay put for a while.

Our House In the Middle of Our Street
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our
Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired she needs a rest
The kids are playing up downstairs
Sister's sighing in her sleep
Brother's got a date to keep
He can't hang around
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our
Our house it has a crowd
There's always something happening
And it's usually quite loud
Our mum she's so house-proud
Nothing ever slows her down
And a mess is not allowed
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our...
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our...
Something tells you that you've got to get away from it
Father gets up late for work
Mother has to iron his shirt
Then she sends the kids to school
Sees them off with a small kiss
She's the one they're going to miss
In lots of ways
Our house, in the middle of our street
Our house, in the middle of our...
I remember way back then when everything was true and when
We would have such a very good time such a fine time
Such a happy time
And I remember how we'd play simply waste the day away
Then we'd say nothing would come between us two dreamers
Father wears his Sunday best
Mother's tired she needs a rest

ReplyDeleteThe house and little creamer is gorgeous! Maybe what you should do is write Susan, like Alycia does when she fancys something and give her your address just in case!!...lol! hehehee..Oh well, sweet pea, I'd be so happy with your lil'cookie house, period! Too adorable! Love the vignette you did with the S&P shakers. Thank you for your lovely first visit to see my fudge brownies...I forgot to give out the recipe, so it's on my post now! Hi Shelia!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors of that collection. I have always admired Susan's and her pretty hutch! You should check out ebay... or maybe someone will read this and sell you the little plates ;) Oh, if I have never told you before... I love the beadboard back splash!
You are eating cookies and I am eating pie Pie à la Mode... sounds like we both have a sweet tooth. I should hop on over to Bj's.... she is bad for my diet because she's ALWAYS serving something good!
Glad you had a nice Easter :)
xoxo Bunny Jean
Shelia,

Just the perfect set for Easter Shelia! I love each piece.
ReplyDeleteWishing you a great week ahead!
Your little village is adorable, just like you! Now I need to put away the Easter decorations and make my countertops pretty like yours.
ReplyDeleteGretchen
Oh I love your little house collecton, every piece is so cute and they make the greatest decor for your kitchen. Your corners look super. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteYou put the best things in your little corners. That set is so sweet and lucky you for finding all the pieces you did! Happy Week! Hugs, Linda
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet little corner of your world you have created. Hope you had a wonderful Easter. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteShelia, I hope you find some plates in the future...I'll keep my eye out for ya. HomeGoods just needs to get them in again! I love your sweet spring vignette! I use that little plate to hold butter, too. It didn't come with a lid so I guess it's an open butter dish. Cookies do make the work go faster, that and Easter egg candy...not that I've been eating any. ;)
ReplyDeleteYour kitchen corners are lovely, I adore those little pitchers and salt and peppers and butter dish! They are so pretty, I'm so sorry that you couldn't find the square plates to go with it.
ReplyDeleteWipe your little peepers and just enjoy what you do have.
Love, hugs and smiles, Cindy
Shelia, these little pieces are charmers. The minute I saw the first image I thought of Susan' porch and her hutch full of these dishes. They are so cute. I've never seen any for sale, but I would have scooped them up too.
ReplyDeleteHope you had a delightful Easter weekend. ~ Sarah
Those were gorgeous. I love to use my kitchen counters for Decorative stuff as well....I do NOT put toasters, or any of that kind of stuff left out on my counters.
ReplyDeletejust my preferance.
But in this new house I am in....I have LIMITIED counter space.
I wish I was your neighbor, too! But, I know how talented you are and that you can make a little quilt for Carter. Look on the internet and I bet you can find a Sunday block pattern to adapt. Good luck. Sally
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteI adore your 'corner houses', pitcher, creamer and salt & pepper shakers!!! All so sweet! One never knows what might show up...when you least expect it! Ah~h~h...the hunt continues!
Fondly,
Pat
