Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so excited to tell you my home is filled with fairy dust!
Yes, ma'am!
There's fairy dust on the floor, on the tops of my tables,
on the bottom of my tootsies and on my most gorgeous face!
What? It's not fairy dust? (as I blink my baby blues)
Um, well, it just may be glitter as I'm busy taking down all of my Christmasing!
Shoot! There goes my fantasy!
But I do have something to share.
I received a gift from God and my lemon tree...
Ta dah...!
About 2 dozen yellow lemons!
It's such a treat to gather the fruit at Christmas time.
Thank you, God!
I never have never figured out why my lemons get those little picks all over them.
I don't think the birds peck my lemons, but maybe they do.
It could be the thorns on the bushes. Don't know.
So after a nice soapy bath, I sliced one of my lemons so show you how pretty they are.
These puppies are BIG too and soooo juicy!
The smell is so heavenly. Take a whiff..
Sniff sniff sniff...
Yes, ma'am. That smell is sunshine to your nose.
I'll see you in a few day when I get all of the fairy dust, I mean glitter, cleaned up!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
When You Wish Upon A Star
When a star is born
They possess a gift or two
One of them is this
They have the power to make a wish come true
When you wish upon a star
Makes no diff'rence who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
When you wish upon a star
Makes no diff'rence who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
They possess a gift or two
One of them is this
They have the power to make a wish come true
When you wish upon a star
Makes no diff'rence who you are
Anything your heart desires will come to you
If your heart is in your dream
No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue
Fate steps in and sees you through
When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
When you wish upon a star

Anything your heart desires will come to you

No request is too extreme
When you wish upon a star
As dreamers do
Fate is kind
She brings to those who love
The sweet fulfillment of their secret longing
Like a bolt out of the blue

When you wish upon a star
Your dreams come true
~ sung by all the dreamers in the world :)
I have some of that "fairy dust" floating around as well. De-Christmasing is a sparkly business! Your lemons look just lovely!
ReplyDeleteRobin
Your lemons made my mouth water just looking at them...LOL! I had fairy dust all over me last week...so glad to be done. Enjoy your day and don't work too hard, Gail
ReplyDeleteI think the fairies had a convention at my house! I like to leave my tree up to the 6th, but I am not so sure about that.......love those lemons. What a treat to live in a climate where you can grow your own citrus. xo
ReplyDeleteYou're just too funny! You are lucky to have such wonderful lemons of your own now. I love lemons! I cut them up and put them in my water everyday. I even heard there are a lot of medicinal purposes for lemons (including anti-cancer). How bout that? Enjoy your lemons!
ReplyDeleteYummy lemons...Fairy dust is much better than dusty dust anyday...not that I would know.
ReplyDeleteIsn't glitter a form of fairy dust? Oh...don't burst my balloon!!
ReplyDeleteI have to sweep for about a month before the last of Christmas is off the floors...I am not kidding...I think it is gone, and then poof...more there!
I was coated in fairy dust the other day too :-).
ReplyDeleteThose lemons do look like sunshine!
those are the prettiest lemons I've ever seen.. they look lucious. sliced lemons were one of my dad's favorite snacks.
ReplyDeleteI vacummed all my fairy dust up- I even ran it on low speed on my pom girls lol.. they'd walk by me and I see twinkles here and there .. oh my
I wish I had said something about this song in my post today! And fairy dust is all around us...yes, it is! Love your beautiful lemons, they are making my mouth pucker! I guess I'll just sing the song now! Fairy hugs! ♥
ReplyDeleteI have some of your "fairy dust" too (as well as a bit of dust dust)!
ReplyDeleteThe lemons are fabulous and am surprised that you have them at this time of the years. I think I should move closer to you...I prefer a more temperate climate than North Texas! ;)
Oh if I had some I'd make a lemon pie. I make them like an apple pie, rhine and all, so good. Richard from My Old Historic House.
ReplyDeleteOh, how I love fairy dust!! :) No matter where it comes from!! And, I can almost smell the freshness of those yummy looking lemons...oh, I love them, too!!
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't imagine walking out in the yard and finding lemons - especially that size! Nice! How about a lemon meringue pie?! ~ Mary
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteI love anything with lemons. These look wonderful! They are so good for you too. I hope the New Year shines a bright face on you and brings you much joy.

Shelia, I put a slice of lemon in all my drinks to prevent kidney stones so I need a tree too. Those lemons are gorgeous. I can just imagine you with glitter all the time...you are sparkly in my minds eye anyhoo. Olive
ReplyDeleteOOOhhh, I love lemons...and you have some beautiful ones...blow some of that fairy dust towards TN...I could use some!
ReplyDeleteIt must be wonderful to gather fruit from your own tree! I know they smell great-enjoy:@)
ReplyDeleteYou need a cup of tea with those beautiful lemons. Fairy dust is such a good thing!
ReplyDeleteFairy dust and lemons.I learn something today.I didn't know lemon came in at Christmas time. I had gotten rid of my fairy dust.. now its back. Trish
ReplyDeleteOh my, some of those same fairies have been visiting my home, too! They shared some dust with me as well! LOLOL!
ReplyDeleteHow neat to harvest lemons this time of year! Or anytime, for that matter! That truly is a blessing from God! :)
Is there anything more beautiful than a fresh bowl of fruit especially the sunny colored lemon? They look like they would be perfect for one of my family's favorite, lemon meringue pie. Yummy. Take care, Shelia and don't work too hard!!-------Shannon
ReplyDeleteShelia,
ReplyDeleteYour "fairy dust" made me laugh! at least it's sparkling...unlike "dust bunnies" here on the Prairie! Ha! Your gift from God...lemons...are so beautiful. I could almost taste the juicy sweetness! Enjoy your "gift" while you glitter around the house!
Fondly,
Pat
There's a bit of fairy dust around here, too. Aren't you lucky to be able to grow your own lemons? What will you do with all of them?
ReplyDeleteThe lemons look wonderful Sheila!
ReplyDeleteWe've had some fairy dust around here too. I think I've conquered it though.:-)
Can you send some the Oregon way? They look luscious!
ReplyDeletewe call glitter fairy dust too and we are covered in from Oct to Feb....nose, ears, hair, clothes, wear it for eye shawdow....
ReplyDeleteI can smell them, Shelia. And, they smell and look heavenly. I love the scent of lemons.
ReplyDeleteFairy dust! I like that idea, and I do believe you can find some fairy dust around my house, too. It seems so much more acceptable when referred to as fairy dust.
How is your sweet Carter?
Your lemons are beautiful! Made me think of fresh lemonade & lemon meringue pie -- yum! I'm now adding a Meyer Lemon Tree to our list of landscape trees. The Man will be so happy....lol!
ReplyDeleteCAS
"Fairy dust" and LEMONS.....doesn't get much better than that. You are so lucky have to have fresh lemons:)
ReplyDeleteMrs. Shelia! You never ever fail to bring a smile to my face and a song to my heart. I can almost smell those fresh lemons from here. Aint God Good! :)
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear you tiny wee one is feeling better. Now I must go and have a glass of lemonaid in honor of you. Maybe I may just find some fairy dust here too. Wishing those fairies would clean my house while they are here..ha! Big New Year Hugs to you friend~
LOL I have some of that fairy dust too! I love lemons and my taste buds are working overtime now! I miss my Mom making me lemon meringue pie! I often chose that for my birthday rather than a cake!!
ReplyDeleteYour table is sweet and I love the tree under the cloche! Too cute! You did well with those dishes from Target! I love a good bargain!
I couldn't help but notice your tile floor! It looks just like mine! We remodeled in '95 and I chose 8 x 8 tiles. I can't tell if yours are that size but they look like it. I used a taupe grout and yours looks similar!!
Hope your holidays were great, I'm just catching up on some blogging now! Cheers to the new year!! Liz
I have some citrus as well - so exciting: meyer lemons, key limes, clementines. Yum!
ReplyDeleteShelia, I've also noticed the fairy blew through here...right before the temp dropped to 18!!! Your lemons are amazing and perfect on the inside...that's what counts! Think of me when you have lemonade!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year,
Helen
Mmmmm, yummy! I love ripe lemons. They look wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHugs, Cindy

Happy 2012, S!
Shelia, how I've missed your posts! I'm so sorry for not having visited more. It's been nuts over here!
ReplyDeleteI love lemons and I wished I lived near you. We are still figuring out our lot for future landscape but hopefully I can squeeze in a lemon tree in there somewhere! Hugs and Happy New Year!
Wow - home grown lemons - gorgeous! I can't imagine having my own lemon tree. Evidently it likes "living" at your house. Now, let's see....lemon pie, lemon cheesecake, lemon pound cake, lemonage, etc......Linda
ReplyDeleteShelia, I have some of that dust here also. Wonderful how it got all the way down here. Haha.
ReplyDeleteLove those gorgeous lemons!
Barb ♥
