Fall Cloche Party

Hello, Dear Ones! I wanted to join Marty for her Cloche Party and thank her for hosting this most fun event!

I'm still trying to get well from this nasty upper respiratory infection! Meds had been taken but I still fell yucky! I hate to feel bad!! Ugh!!

Anyway...

This little bird topped wired cloche sits on a table in the entry. I've so enjoyed this little set up and smile each time I pass! :)

Here is a cloche display in the living room!

I know most of you have seen this one ~ a little corner in my kitchen!

I have many more cloches but just didn't have the time to get them all out! Now make sure you visit Marty's blog A Stroll Thru Life to see the most clochiest creative ones.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Tis Autumn

Old Father time checked, so there'd be no doubt;
Called on the North wind to come on out,
Then cupped his hands so proudly to shout,
“La-di-dah di-dah-di-dum, ‘tis autumn!'

Trees say they're tired, they've born too much fruit;
Charmed on the wayside, there's no dispute.
Now shedding leaves, they don't give a hoot –
La-di-dah di-dah-di-dum, ‘tis autumn!

Then the birds got together to chirp about the weather
Mmmm-mmm-mmm-mmm.
After makin' their decision, in birdie-like precision,
Turned about, and made a beeline to the south.

My holding you close really is no crime –
Ask the birds and the trees and old Father Time.
It's just to help the mercury climb.
La-di-dah di-dah-di-dum, ‘tis autumn.

Venice!!

Hello, Dear Ones! I have come down with an upper respiratory infection and have been as sick as a dog! Been on meds and have had bad side effects! I've just been a mess. But I did want to share with you the final few days of our trip - Venice!

We flew from Houston to Venice and that is where we boarded our cruise ship. Mr. Precious and I decided before we left that after our cruise was over we would spend a few days in Venice since we had never been here before.

Oh, what a lovely olden place. Looks like a city floating on the water. Well, I guess it is! :)

Canals run all through the city. Here you can see everyone's little boats parked just waiting for them to take a ride.

Now we're Hilton folks. We love them and have stayed in them all over the world. Mr. Precious found this Hilton for us...right on the Grand Canal! As you can see, it's not your regular variety! :)

How fortunate for us ~ they had their own water taxi for us ~ free of charge to take us across the Grand Canal to other areas. This in itself was fun for me. Don't take too much to make this gal happy!

Little sites around the city! See that boat in the bottom left hand corner? Well...

this was the boat that took us to Murano to see the glass factory! I was like a little kid and kept poking my tiny head out the back window and snapping our journey! The water was so beautiful!

When we got to the glass factory, of course I had Reba and was just snapping away. The guide came up to me and said I wasn't allowed to snap pictures because everything was copyrighted. Oops! :) Those are gorgeous chandies, aren't they? Now don't go out and copycat these! :)

Here is where all the magnificent glass pieces are made. This family has been making Murano glass for years and years. This young man was demonstrating his technique on making a tiny glass horse. See the snap with the fire? Well, when the horse was finished he laid a little slip of paper on it and it went up in blazes it was so hot! Glad I didn't try to touch it! :)

This charming Italian lady used her charm and finesse trying to sell us some glass pieces. It worked and we fell for it! :)

These three beautiful pieces are on their tiny way to Galveston! Mr. Precious bought these for me. They are so delicate and beautiful! I will treasure them forever! I feel a tablescape coming on! :)

Here is a mosaic of St. Mark's Basilica, one of the most famous churches in Venice. They were doing some upkeep on it and there were canvas and cranes everywhere. There weren't many areas inside where I was allowed to snap. But I did what I could. Do you see me snapping for you in the bathroom of the basilica? Oh, what I do for you, Dear Ones! :)

Masquerade! Paper faces on parade. Masquerade! Hide your face, so the world will never fine you...oh, I just can't help myself! I get carried away sometimes. :) Aren't they cute?

Shopping! One of the things we ladies do best! :) No, I didn't buy that mask but I know I would have looked just so gorgeous in it! Well, you wouldn't be seeing my most gorgeous face would you, so maybe I wouldn't look so gorgeous...hmmm...looks a bit heavy to hold anyway! You know I'm teasing. :)

I got such a kick out of walking around seeing all of the laundry hanging out of the windows. It made me very thankful for my dryer!

The gondolas! Don't you just think of these when you think of Venice? They were gorgeous too! So fancy. I didn't realize they were all fancied up like this! Now I know it's awful, but we did not ride in one! I guess the retirement mode has set in. Although I am certainly not of retirement age yet, just wanted you to know that. Mr. Precious robbed the cradle when he married me! :) There I go getting side tracked again. Well for about a 30 minute ride it cost over $100 and we just didn't do it. I would rather have spent the money on a little gift to hold in my most dainty fingers! :) I did! Just sayin'...

Hope you've enjoyed seeing our Venice trip. We walked and walked and then had to walk back ~ my tiny knees almost fell off! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

I've Been Trippin'~

Hello, Dear Ones! After getting my snaps ready from my trip ~ I wanted to share with you. You might want to get you a cookie and some tea as I have a few to show you. I've made mosaics so I wouldn't bore you too much!

Mr. Precious and I took a Mediterranean Cruise to Croatia, Turkey and Greece and ending up in Venice. We were gone for 17 days! We flew to Venice and boarded our ship. We sailed on the Splendour of the Seas which is one of Royal Carribean's smaller ships. Worked for me! :)

I feel so blessed as we got upgraded to a Grand Suite! Oh, it was so nice! King bed, three closets and lots of drawers, bathroom with double sinks and a bathtub, a little bar area and a wonderful deck!

Now I don't think I uploaded my snaps in the order we sailed so just bear with me! :)
This is Crete, Croatia! How lovely, isn't it? I'm still learning to snap with Reba the Rebel (my Canon camera) and had the wrong setting up so this snap looks rather blueish.

I'll shut up and let you look! :)

This is also Crete.

Ephesus, Turkey.

On the streets of Ephesus.

Crete, Greece...beautiful!

I know, I know...I'm showing you a little indoor market in Crete. But it was so cool!

Now please don't get sick here ~ these are skinned rabbits! I had to show you this ~ they left on the fuzzy rabbit's feet!

Athens, Greece.

All around Athens.

Bodrum, Turkey.

More of Bodrum. See those kitties? They were dock or pier kitties waiting for their dinner as the fishing boats pulled up. There were many more! :) No, they weren't trying to eat the peacock!

Touring oldenness in Bodrum. There's that peacock again! :)

Corfu, Turkey. We were fortunate a few times for our ship to pull up on 'our side' so I could get great snaps of the towns!

Oldenness in Corfu!

More Corfu.

Katokolan, Greece! Sad story. By the time we were allowed to get off the ship ~ it was pouring down rain. All tours and sightseeing was canceled. So we did the best we could and stayed on board and ate! :)

This was our last port of call and then the ship took us back to Venice, Italy, where we stayed for three days. I'll show you that later as I don't want to bore your tiny socks off! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you a little Note Song~

Beyond the Sea

Somewhere beyond the sea
somewhere waiting for me
my lover stands on golden sands
and watches the ships that go sailin'

Somewhere beyond the sea
she's there watching for me
If I could fly like birds on high
then straight to her arms
I'd go sailin'

It's far beyond the stars
it's near beyond the moon
I know beyond a doubt
my heart will lead me there soon

We'll meet beyond the shore
we'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
and never again I'll go sailin'

I know beyond a doubt
my heart will lead me there soon
We'll meet (I know we'll meet) beyond the shore
We'll kiss just as before
Happy we'll be beyond the sea
and never again I'll go sailin'

no more sailin'
so long sailin'
bye bye sailin'...
move on out captain

Have You Missed Me?

Hello, Dear Ones! That's right, have you missed me? Did you even know that I have been gone for the past 17 days?

If you were wondering why I haven't commented on your posts it's because I've been out of the country having a ball! I do want you to know how much I appreciate you all who visit me and ordinarily I really try to answer every single comment you make to my blog. But since I've been away so long, please excuse me this time. I am going to read every single comment you've written to me and I always just love hearing from you.

I did prepost a few times so you wouldn't forget me and will start up my blogging in a few days after all of the dirty laundry is washed and I'm a bit less fuzzy headed. Well, I'm always a little goofy, but you know what I mean.

Mr. Precious and I were on a 10 day cruise to Croatia, Greece and Turkey and then we spent a few days in Venice. Marvelous time!! This was our little cruise ship - The Splendour of the Seas. Not as big as some but we thought it was just right! I think I've gained 50 pounds! :)
I'll share some snaps and stories with you in a few days.

And...

I am always thinking of you, Dear Ones, and you know how I feel about Bathroom Snapping - it's my business! :) I'm leaving you with a snap I took in our stateroom bathroom. Now this was very hard to do, Dear Most Marveling Ones, and I would advise you never to try this at home. After all, I am a professional! :)

I love you all and can't wait to get back to visiting you again and seeing what you all have been up too!
Until then...
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Travelin' Man ( just loved that cute Ricky Nelson)

I'm a travelin' man
I've made a lot of stops all over the world
And in every port I own the heart
Of at least one lovely girl

I've a pretty Seniorita waiting for me
Down in old Mexico
If you're ever in Alaska stop and see
My cute little Eskimo

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

Oh my sweet Fraulien down in Berlin town
Makes my heart start to yearn
And my China doll down in old Hong Kong
Waits for my return

Pretty Polynesian baby over the sea
I remember the night
When we walked in the sands of the Waikiki
And I held you oh so tight

Oh, I'm a travelin' man
Yes, I'm a travelin' man

Fallen Whiteness in the Hutch

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, since it's the season of Autumn...Fall, I seem to have gotten a little spurt of energy and decided to empty the china cabinet in the dining room and redo it!
I'm so talented like that you know! ;)

Now I love color and my Fallen decorating is filled with oranges, yellows and gold all except in the dining room this year, I'm using white things! Me, a gal who loves color? Yep!
Come a little closer and I'll show you.

Do you like it? This is the middle section. I think it looks rather calm. So unlike me! I'm a sight you know! :) Well, everything in my china cabinet is white except the little sweet hand painted tea pot, creamer and sugar my mother gave me many years ago. I just had to poke it in here! :)

The left hand section. I had to open the doors for you because the glare is really bad.

Here's the right hand side. The white crocheted runner was here before I tore up the insides of my china cabinet so I thought I would leave it.

Here's a little mosaic of all my little shelves ~ Fallen shelves filled with white things. So unlike me but I'm liking it.

Since I'm so creative, I thought I would take a snap through the side glasses. I hope you know I'm teasing...sort of! :)

Here's the other side peeping in through the glass.

I'm liking all of my Fallen whiteness in my china cabinet. Now, did you see the little touches of oranges and gold I poked all around? I just had to have a little of my Fallen colors among the whites!!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

The Logical Song

When I was young, it seemed that life was so wonderful,
a miracle, oh it was beautiful, magical.
And all the birds in the trees, well they'd be singing so happily,
joyfully, playfully watching me.
But then they send me away to teach me how to be sensible,
logical, responsible, practical.
And they showed me a world where I could be so dependable,
clinical, intellectual, cynical.

There are times when all the world's asleep,
the questions run too deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
but please tell me who I am.

Now watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
liberal, fanatical, criminal.
Won't you sign up your name, we'd like to feel you're
acceptable, respecable, presentable, a vegtable!

At night, when all the world's asleep,
the questions run so deep
for such a simple man.
Won't you please, please tell me what we've learned
I know it sounds absurd
but please tell me who I am.
~ sung by Supertramp
