My Three Bowls

Hello, Dear Ones! I was in Ross the other day and guess what I spied with my most gorgeous tiny eyes? :) Three bowls! These cute as punch bowls. Don't you love them?

They look so sweet and so happy and I had to have them. Home with me they came!

I had to make a mosaic to show off the sweet colors and pretties.

Well, sweet and cute as can be is just fine but a little bowl display was in order...

Baby bowl...

Mama bowl...

Papa bowl.

I just had so much fun playing with my new three bowls. I have seen some of you have these too. You couldn't resist either, could you? :)

A peep from the back side of my three bowls.

But in reality I had to move them from my little wanna be island to this spot on the countertop.
As you can see a little Rooster had to pop into the display too. He's such a Romeo and I think he has a crush on my chickie! :)

And that's the story of my Three Bowls...not to be confused with My Three Sons. If you're olden I'm sure you remember that wonderful TV show from the 1960s. There I go chasing rabbits, bowls or sons again! :) You know I'm totally a silly!

Now Dear Ones, I can't let you go without inviting you to my Heart of the Home - Roosters and Chickens Party. We all know our kitchen is the heart of the home and I'm sure you have lots of Roosters and Chickens there. But...those little yard birds are sneaky and they escape into other rooms of your home. So if you can get a snap of them, no matter where they are in your home - inside or outside, it counts.

I got so excited typing up my invitation post, that I made a few typos. Thank you all, Dear Ones, who told me and now I think I have them all fixed! The party will be Tuesday, August 9th! (you all know how August types like April, don't you? ) :) You can click HERE to find out about it!

Just wanted to add that I will be having a giveaway after the party. I'm working on it now and will have some snaps soon! The give away will only be for you that come to my party! You'll have a number by your name and that's what I'll use to pick the winner after the party! Cool, huh?

So will you come to my party? I hope so. You can take the little button below and put it on your blog if you'd like to help advertise.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Let's Stay Together

I'm, I'm so in love with you
Whatever you want to do
Is alright with me
'Cause you make me feel, so brand new
And I want to spend my life with you

Me sayin' since, baby, since we've been together
Ooo, loving you forever
Is what I need
Let me, be the one you come running to
I'll never be untrue
Ooo baby

Let's, let's stay together
Loving you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad

Oooo oooo ooo ooo, yeah
Whether times are good or bad, happy or sad

Why somebody, why people break up
Oh, and turn around and make up
I just can't seeeeeeeee
You'd never do that to me
(Would you baby)
'Cause being around you is all I see
It's why I want us to

Let's, let's stay together
Loving you whether, whether
Times are good or bad, happy or sad

Let's, let's stay together
Loving you whether, whether

Another Heart of the Home Party

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so excited to tell you I'm going to host another Heart of the Home Party!
We've had two Heart of the Home Parties - the first one was to show our kitchens (you can click Here to see the party goers) and the second one was to show our favorite cupboard in our kitchen (you can click HERE to see the party goers).

Just wanted to add that I will be having a giveaway after the party. I'm working on it now and will have some snaps soon! The give away will only be for you that come to my party! You'll have a number by your name and that's what I'll use after the party! Cool, huh?

Now if you visit me often, you know how I love the yard birds and thought how fun it would be to show our Roosters and Chickens in our kitchen. Now sometimes they escape and go somewhere else in your home and if yours pop out of your kitchen, it's okay, you can show those to us too.

If you remember, Our Dear Barb from Bella Vista has hosted the Rooster parties in the past. I contacted her and she said she wasn't going to do any more and it would be okay if I hosted this party. Thank you, Barb! :)

So, we'll be having a Heart of the Home Party - Show Us Your Roosters and Chickens. Will you come? I sure do hope so.

Now to get you to thinking about all of your Roosters and Chickens, here's a few I found online to show you.

A Rooster spice rack. I have a similar one! Isn't this darling?

Another olden spice set! I'd love to have this one.

I know some of us love the olden tablecloths and I found a couple with yard birds on them.
Cockadoodledo! I love this one! Do you have any table cloths or napkins, well, just any linens or pillows would be great to show us!

This party is not going to leave out the gals - the Chickens. Here's some little fat ones just cackling away! I think they're talking about coming to the party, don't you? :)
Chicken bowls. I think these are actually candy dishes, but I love them. I have a small gathering of chicken bowls that I'll be showing you. They're so fun and come in all colors too. I do want that red one up there!

Canisters! Oh, my goodness, these are darling olden canisters. I wish I had these too!

I think we've all seen these Rooster topped canisters!

Rooster lamps! I love Rooster lamps and I've seen so many of you do too. Get yours all dusted and shined up and replace that burned out bulb! We wanna see them all!

Do you have any Rooster or Chicken artwork? That'll work too! I got a few pieces.

Rooster and Chicken dishes...I know you have these. Isn't that a pretty platter?
Here's some vintage glasses! So cute!
This handsome Rooster looks like he may have some from Marshalls!
And...his lady looks like she came from there too. We love Marshalls for feeding our Rooster and Chicken habits, don't we?

There's olden Rooster and Chicken figurenes. These probably came off someone's blog. I didn't mean to steal it, the snap came up when I Googled Roos and Chicks! :)

I'm easy and if you have any little baby Chickens, you can bring them to the party too!

Now you know how very talented I am and my dainty creamy fingers created this button for you to put on your blog for others to see! You know I'm teasing! :)

I hope you'll all plan on coming! There's so many parties in the Land of Blog now on every single day! So I thought we'd party on Tuesday, August 9th, right here at Note Songs.

So if you would take the little button above and place it on your blog and advertise for our party, I would appreciate it so much. So I'll see you back here to party on Tuesday, August 9th.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song - Our Heart of the Home Theme Song~

Shake, Rattle and Roll

Get out from that kitchen
and rattle those pots and pans,
Get out from that kitchen
and rattle those pots and pans.
Well, roll my breakfast,
'cause I'm a hungry man.

I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll;
Well you never do nothin'
to save your doggone soul.

Wearin' those dresses,
your hair done up so right
Wearin' those dresses,
your hair done up so right;
You look so warm,
but your heart is cold as ice.

I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
Well you never do nothin'
to save your doggone soul.

I'm like a one-eyed cat,
peepin' in a sea-food store,
I'm like a one-eyed cat,
peepin' in a sea-food store;
I can look at you,
till you don't love me no more.

I believe you're doin' me wrong
and now I know,
I believe you're doin' me wrong
and now I know;
The more I work,
the faster my money goes.

I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,
I said Shake rattle and roll,

Well you never do nothin'
to save your doggone soul.
Shake rattle and rolllllllllllllllllllll

Whiter Shade of Pale Mantle

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, it was time for me to redress my mantle in the den. So I went to town.

I pulled down all of my patriotic things and started looking around the house for something different to poke up on the mantle. I think mantle decorating is hard, do you?

I thought I was hearing bells ringing and immediately thought about my silver pieces! That's it! That's exactly what I'd do. So...

I poked up two champagne buckets - one little and one big! Then I poked down an ice bucket. All of these pieces are tarnished and I like that. I did use a couple of books to raise and give height! I'm so smart like that you know! ;)

Then I grabbed my tub of faux flowers and pulled out these white daises! Love it! You know how I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me! :) Yay! One side was done but what would I do to the other side?

Well, being as talented as I am, I grabbed one of my silver trays and poked it in the stand! Looked good to me. Then I had recently found this sweet little silver bowl at a thrift shop and poked her down with a few white roses. Then my mantle is never complete without my starfish!

Isn't this the sweetest little piece?

My faithful mantle starfish. Perfect! Give em a smile, sweetie! :)

Here's a peep from the left hand side.

And here's a peep from the right hand side.

Oh, I almost forgot. It's summertime and time to bring out some fish jugs. This one sits happily on the hearth and I do believe he's singing that old song "Whiter Shade of Pale". I love my fish jugs! :)

So this is one of the things I've been doing. Working and singing with the AC cranked down as low as I can get it and sipping on my Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper! What have you been doing? :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

A Whiter Shade of Pale

We skipped the light fandango
turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kinda seasick
but the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
as the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
the waiter brought a tray

And so it was that later
as the miller told his tale
that her face, at first just ghostly,
turned a whiter shade of pale

She said, 'There is no reason
and the truth is plain to see.'
But I wandered through my playing cards
and would not let her be
one of sixteen vestal virgins
who were leaving for the coast
and although my eyes were open
they might have just as well've been closed

She said, 'I'm home on shore leave,'
though in truth we were at sea
so I took her by the looking glass
and forced her to agree
saying, 'You must be the mermaid
who took Neptune for a ride.'
But she smiled at me so sadly
that my anger straightway died

If music be the food of love
then laughter is its queen
and likewise if behind is in front
then dirt in truth is clean
My mouth by then like cardboard
seemed to slip straight through my head
So we crash-dived straightway quickly
and attacked the ocean bed

Chicken

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm chicken today. I'm speaking in a very soft voice as I do not want to upset my Roosters! No, no Nannette! The Roosters (that's with a capital R) think they should rule the roost but today it's the chickens.

I've covered my little round table in the breakfast room with a little vintage tea cloth and threw on the chickens.

I've used my olden milk glass square cake stand for a little height and poked down some chickie things.

Isn't this a sweet little chicken creamer? I love this! Can you love sweet little chicken creamers? You bet your fried drumsticks you can! :) I've filled it with these darling little chicken spreaders. I shared them yesterday as they were in my little hutch in the breakfast room.

The most colorful one of all!

Here's a mommy chicken with her little one going for a ride on her back.

Here's another mother caring for her little chicks.

These white chicken napkins rings were gifted to me from another sweet blogger.

I poked a few dried hydrangea blooms around the base of the cake stand. Why? Just because! :)

Now here is where you're going to be amazed! See the little chicken tea towel? I made this with my own talented dainty creamy fingers! :) You know I'm kidding don't you? Well, I did make it but I am just bragging on myself! :)

Lovely fresh flowers to grace the table and also be the backdrop for my vignette.

So if anyone ever calls you 'chicken' just think of the girl yard birds and not the boy ones! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Chicken Hearted

My girlfriend slipped and fell
Now she's hanging from a cliff
I can't come to her rescue
But these flowers i must sniff

You see i'd really like to save her
But i aint got the nerve
I'm chicken hearted
I'm chicken hearted

I'm tryin' to kiss my girl
And it makes me want to faint
I'm scared of my own shadow
And afraid of what i ain't

I've no inspiration
I'm kinda yellow...
I'm chicken hearted,
I'm chicken hearted

Mama's in the workshop
Daddy's in the jail
I seem to be afraid
To go to work and make their bail

I guess my folks will have
I'm chicken hearted,
I'm chicken hearted
