Got Balls?

Hello, Dear Ones! Got balls? Well, I do...um, I guess they're called orbs. :) I know, I'm a stinker. I just couldn't help myself. I really don't have anything to post about so this is what you get! :)

I was walking around the house with Reba the Rebel (my new camera) looking for something to snap and these little balls, um, orbs from Walmart just popped out at me!

So I was trying to be creative with my snapping. Thus...the balls! :) Three little goldeny, bronzey, coppery balls - orbs!

They're really kinda pretty, don't you think? Three little balls, um, orbs, sitting in my little green rectangular plate.

Well, don't think I'm vulgar or anything...I call Christmas ornaments Christmas balls! :) I'm just silly like that!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Rubber Ball

Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you,
rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
hoo-ah-ooh-ooh.

I'm like a - rubber ball, baby that's all
that I am to you (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy)
Just a rubber ball 'cuz you think you
can be true to two (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy).
You bounce my heart around (You don't even put her down)
And like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you.

If you - stretch my love 'til it's thin enough to tear
I'll just stretch my arms to reach you anywhere
And like a -
Rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you
rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

You bounce my heart around (You don't even put her down)
And like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
Hoo-ah-ooh-ooh.
Bouncy, bouncy ... bouncy, bouncy
bouncy, bouncy... bouncy, bouncy
Eee-ah-eee-eee;

I'm like a - rubber band when on my shoulder
you do tap (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy).
Just a rubber band because my heart-strings,
they just snap (bouncy, bouncy) (bouncy, bouncy)
You go and: squeeze me 'til I'm all aflame
(She calls you by some other guy's name)

But like a rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
Rubber ball, I come bouncin' back to you
rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you
rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you
rubber ball, I'll come bouncin' back to you

Let's Have A Picnic

Just an update: my heart and prayers go out to all those in the path of the terrible storms and tornadoes yesterday! I have family in Fort Payne, Alabama, and they were hit with tornadoes. God keep you all safe!

Hello, Dear Ones! It's almost summer so what better time to have a picnic! Come on and join me!

I have everything ready ~ tablecloth, picnic basket, food...let's go!

This is just the perfect spot under this tree! See all the green leaves and there are little pink flowers popping their most tiny heads up from the warm earth just for us. Maybe we should pick some.

It's such a gorgeous day with puffy white clouds everywhere. We could just lay on the green grass and watch the clouds roll by! Or...

we could open up the picnic basket for something to drink. Now lots of folks would pack a very nice bottle of wine in their picnic basket. But not me...no, no Nannette! Not me! :)

My drink of choice ~ Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper! I love this stuff. :)

So grab a glass and I'll pour some of this most satisfying liquid and I'll continue to set up our picnic table. Tablecloth...

Dishes...we must have dishes. I brought some fun ones I found at Pier I years ago with some fun flatware.

Doesn't this make you smile? It sure makes me smile! Just some happy little dishes!

Gotta have some corn on the cob for our picnic. Yummy looking, don't you think? I've even brought little corn holders!

Campfire!! Here's our campfire all lit and ready to cook our corn! Don't get too close - it's very hot! You just sit back down and I'll take care of the corn. You're my guest! :)

I brought a special little tiny salt and pepper set just for you! Lots of good ole salt for our corn.

Now you know how messy corn on the cob can get so here's a little napkin the color of the sky to wipe your most dewy juicy little lips with! Not that you'll get messy or anything! :)

I've been in the woods and picked some fresh blackberries for you! I love blackberries and I hope you do too! These are so juicy but just in case you want a little more sweetness here's some sugar in the tiny little blue glass with a little special sugar spoon.
Is your tiny mouth just a waterin'? Mine sure is! Look at those gorgeous blackberries! Yum!

Okay, I think it's time to get started with our picnic. You just sit there on the cool grass and I'll start roasting our corn. You know it's just pretend but hey, I don't want to grow up, do you?

I'm joining Our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Tablescape Thursday,
Our Dear Sherry at No Minimalist Here for Open House Party,
Our Dear Fawnda and Jeannine at Fireflies and Jelly beans for Show Off Your Stuff Party,

I'll leave you with a little Note Songs~

Summertime, Summertime

It's summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime summertime...

Well shut them books and throw em away
Say goodbye to dull school days
So come on and change your ways
It's summertime...

Well no more studying history
And no more reading geography
And no more dull geometry
Because it's summertime

It's time to head straight for them hills
It's time to live and have some thrills
Come along and have a ball
A regular free-for-all

Well are you comin or are you ain't
You slow-pokes are my one complaint
Hurry up before I faint
It's summertime

Well I'm so happy that I could flip
Oh how I'd love to take a trip
I'm sorry teacher but zip your lip
Because it's summertime

It's time to head straight for them hills
It's time to live and have some thrills
Come along and have a ball
A regular free for all

Well we'll go swimmin every day
No time to work just time to play
If your folks complain just say,
It's summertime

And every night we'll have a dance
Cause what's a vacation without romance
Oh man this jive has me in a trance
Because it's summertime

It's time to head straight for them hills
It's time to live and have some thrills
Come along and have a ball A regular free for all
It's summertime

It's summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime
Summertime

It's summertime

Garage Saleing!

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm so excited today to show you what I found at a recent garage sale.

A West Bend Penguin Hot and Cold Server/Ice Bucket! Probably a late 1950s model.

Isn't she just the cutest little thing you've ever seen? Um, I had to poke a grey box right there in the middle of my little server because you could see me and it wasn't a good looking day for me! :)

Okay, back to my little Penguin. I paid $5 for this little jewel. When I was a little girl and we'd have dinners at church, there was this lady who always brought her food in a little Penguin like this! I thought it was the most wonderful container I'd ever seen. So I've been on the lookout but didn't want to pay an arm or a leg for one. Then I found her! :) Oh, she looks good too! I washed her and shined her up. Her little Bakelite handles even look like little Penguin wings, don't you think? See all the little Penguins walking around the middle. My heart is just a singin'! :) I love this stuff! Now I can carry food to church in my own little Penguin. Maybe a chicken casserole would stay nice and warm in her.

See? I've already made a chicken dish! :) You know I'm a silly and just couldn't resist! :)

Speaking of chickens, I found this lovely blue honey for $2!! Hallelujah! Isn't she pretty?

With all this vintage kitchy stuff going on, I decided to add my little tea towel I made with 1950s looking fabric. Perfect!

Isn't the little fabric a hoot? Love the little kitchen items. Just like the days of Leave It To Beaver and me. Oh, I had a big time crush on Wally! What a doll! But don't tell Mr. Precious! :)

Here's my little vignette on the counter top. Doesn't this look like 1950? I, of course, would look like June Cleaver with my heels and pearls on. Oh, and I'd have on the cutest of aprons, too! :) Ward, would you call the boys for lunch? :)

I kept playing and ended up setting up my newly acquired things in this little corner area of my kitchen. Oh, and I just realized as I'm looking at that snap - my Penguin has Bakelite handles. My granny's coffee pot has Bakelite handles and my tray has Bakelite handles. Am I good or what? I think the part of my brain that I don't think with just went to town with all of this Bakelite stuff. I'm just so talented and didn't even know it! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Second Hand Rose

Father has a business strictly second hand
Everything from toothpicks to a baby grand
Stuff in our apartment came from father's store
Even things I'm wearing someone wore before
It's no wonder that I feel abused
I never get a thing that ain't been used

I’m wearing second hand hats
Second hand clothes
That’s why they call me
Second hand Rose
Even our piano in the parlor
Father bought for ten cents on the dollar
Second hand curls
I'm wearing second hand pearls
I never get a single thing that's new
Even Jake the Plummer, he's the man I adore
Had the nerve to tell me he's been married before!
Everyone knows that I'm just Second hand Rose
From Second avenue

I'm wearing second hand shoes
Second hand hose
All the girls hand me their second hand beaus
Even my pajamas when I don ‘em
Got somebody else’s ‘nitials on ‘em
Second hand rings
I'm sick of second hand things
I never get what other girlies do
Once when strolling through the Ritz a girl got my goat
She nudged her friend
And said "Oh look there my old fur coat"

Everyone knows that I'm just
Second hand Rose
From Second Avenue
From Second Avenue NU!

Sunshine

Hello, Dear Ones! I thought I'd show you a couple of yellow roses I've had for a month. That's right ~ an entire month! Mr. Precious and I went to a dinner to honor a friend of ours and the florals on the table were gorgeous. When we were ready to leave, we were told to take some of the flowers out of the arrangements! I grabbed these two yellow roses. They were so full and smelled wonderful.

I cut the the stems and poked them into this lovely crystal vase. I've enjoyed them all month.
They are beginning to dry out and I think they're still beautiful. They really don't look real, do they? I have them sitting by the kitchen sink where the sun was pouring in. I love that look!

Here's my very pretty vase and it still has some water in it.

Look at the rose on the left ~ Gorgeous. See how full the petals are?

Look at the rose on the far right! Lovely, don't you think? I love how Mr. Sun is gently kissing my drying up rose petals.

Hope Mr. Sun is shining through your windows today! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Sunshine In My Soul

There is sunshine in my soul today,
More glorious and bright
Than glows in any earthly sky,
For Jesus is my light.

O there's sunshine, blessed sunshine,
While the peaceful, happy moments roll;
When Jesus shows His smiling face
There is sunshine in my soul.

There is music in my soul today,
A carol to my King;
And Jesus, listening, can hear
The song I cannot sing.

There is springtime in my soul today,
For when the Lord is near
The dove of peace sings in my heart,
The flowers of grace appear.

There is gladness in my soul today,
And hope, and praise, and love,
For blessings which He gives me now,
For joys laid up above.

A Blessed Easter

Dear Ones, I want to wish you a very blessed Easter! My heart is filled with love for my Savior Jesus Christ and that He loved you and me enough to die for our sins. Today I don't want to be a silly but a witness for my Lord and to tell you ~ He loves you!

Be blessed,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Lamb of God

YOUR ONLY SON, NO SIN TO HIDE
BUT YOU HAVE SENT HIM
FROM YOUR SIDE
TO WALK UPON THIS GUILTY SOD
AND TO BECOME THE LAMB OF GOD

YOUR GIFT OF LOVE THEY CRUCIFIED
THEY LAUGHED AND SCORNED HIM
AS HE DIED
THE HUMBLE KING THEY NAMED A FRAUD
AND SACRIFICED THE LAMB OF GOD

O LAMB OF GOD SWEET LAMB OF GOD
I LOVE THE HOLY LAMB OF GOD
O WASH ME IN YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD
MY JESUS CHRIST THE LAMB OF GOD

I WAS SO LOST I SHOULD HAVE DIED
BUT YOU HAVE BROUGHT ME TO
YOUR SIDE
TO BE LEAD BY YOUR STAFF AND ROD
AND TO BE CALLED A LAMB OF GOD

O LAMB OF GOD SWEET LAMB OF GOD
I LOVE THE HOLY LAMB OF GOD
O WASH ME IN YOUR PRECIOUS BLOOD
TILL I AM JUST A LAMB OF GOD

My Favorite Easter Bunny

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by the Pinkest Sweetest One, Ms Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

I just had to share with you my very favorite in the whole world ~ Easter bunny...

Carter, my only little grandchild. I love this little pink one! She lives so far away and we don't get to see and hold her very often. But we Skype about every other day or so. Here she is in her little Easter dress that her grandpa, Mr. Precious, bought for her. She's holding her pink bunny too!

Oh, how I love this little one. Please understand she's our very first grandbaby.

Joyness just floods from my heart!

She's not walking yet, but it won't be long.

This is my favorite snap of her. Just look at that little face! How I love her! :) I almost want to cry because I want to hug and kiss those little pink cheeks! But, they'll be coming for two weeks in June! I can't wait! Now my Little Tiny is all dressed up because she was going to the mall with her mommy and daddy to have her picture taken with the Easter Bunny! How exciting!

Or was it? Look at her little face. She's thinking...I'm not gonna cry, I'm not gonna cry! Just get me outta here!

I know this is not very clear, but look at her little mouth. I just laughed so hard when I saw this!! That's my pink Easter bunny, Carter.

Make sure you pop, um, I mean hop over to see Beverly and all of the other Pinkies today.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Easter Parade

In your easter bonnet, with all the frills upon it,
You'll be the grandest lady in the easter parade.
I'll be all in clover and when they look you over,
I'll be the proudest fellow in the easter parade.
On the avenue, fifth avenue, the photographers will snap us,
And you'll find that you're in the rotogravure.
Oh, I could write a sonnet about your easter bonnet,
And of the girl I'm taking to the easter parade.

More Easter in the Den

Hello Dear Ones. I'll bet you'll be glad when I stop showing all of my Easter decorations won't you? Well, just a few more little bunnies in the den and then I promise ~ I'll be finished!
This little bunch is sitting on the hearth in the den. Just carrying on a bunnified conversation.

This little cutie is one Mr. Precious gave to me many years ago. She's a little bit country.

This little sweet one is a bunny angel I bought for myself over 20 years ago. She's a little bit heavenly.

This little pair I found at Marshalls a few years ago and they are just being cute sitting in their wheel barrow. What? You want me to push you to Mr. MacGregor's garden? They're a little bit rock and roll! :)

Okay, I guess that's all...no, wait! I have just a little bit more. I forgot to show you the coffee table. Are you getting bored with all of my bunnies? I hope not!

A little tiny set up on the coffee table in the den.

Pulled out my big ole round doily for this.

Found this little pair a few years ago at Marshalls and fell in love with the olden vintage look of these. They play stare down all the time. :)

I'll take the cloche off so you can see clearly what's hiding under it. Little sweetnesses from the same shopping trip at Marshalls. Tiny little peep peeps and hop hops. Gotta love 'em.

This is some wonderful moss my sweet friend Gloria at Happy to Be sent me from up on her mountain in California! Gloria is need of our prayers at this time. You can go here to see what is going on in her life. We love you, Gloria.

More copy catted vintage postcards ~ printed out on card stock and edges inked. I'm so clever like that, you know! :) I really do adore the olden graphics, don't you?

The cloche, moss and eggs are all sitting on my olden Arthur Court rabbit tray. Got this in the mid 1990s. I've always loved it. When I took some closeups of the handles - the bunny heads - it was like seeing it again for the first time. Do you ever do that? We get so used to something and then really stop and look at it and it's like it's new all over again. I love that!
The hopping bunnies are all around the edges.

Well, there you have it, Dear Ones, my Easter decor. I've so enjoyed seeing all of yours and getting wonderful ideas. I just love Blogland and I love all of you!!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Everything Old is New Again

When trumpets were mellow
And ev'ry gal only had one fellow
No need to remember when
'Cause ev'ry thing old is new again

Get out your white suit, your tap shoes and tails
Let's go backwards when all else(forward) fails
And movie stars you thought were long dead
Now are framed beside your bed

Don't throw the past away
You might need it some rainy day
Dreams can come true again
When ev'ry thing old is new again

Get out your white suit, your tap shoes and tails
Put it in backward when forward fails
But leave Greta Garbo alone
Be a movie star on your own

And don't throw the past away
You might need it some rainy day
Dreams can come true again
When ev'ry thing old is new again

I might fall in love with you again
~ sung by Peter Allen
