My Mantle Has Fallen!

Hello, Dear Ones! Well, that is totally right - my Mantle has Fallen! Everything seems to be Fallen in my home! :) So here goes...
My mantle is in the den and here it is in all of it's Fallen glory!

First I poked up a Fallen wreath that I've had a few years in front of my mirror. My mirror is very olden and has been in my family for many years. It's very plain and not too pretty but I love it so placing a wreath in front of it seemed like a good thing to do! Some of the leaves of the wreath were rather bent and wrinkled so I took my Fallen wreath to the ironing board and steamed the leaves and they began to straighten out! Genius! ;)

I grabbed three candle sticks and poked three little punkins on top of them! Autumn Fallen leaves are resting all over the place too.

Now I love my Roosters and that is with a capital "R"! I have never placed a Rooster on my mantle. What is wrong with me? Well, this handsome fellow looks like he was made to be Fallen and he looks pretty fine on my mantle. Don't you think so?

Just look at his face ~ he's so proud! He is sitting on some books to elevate his importance and I've placed a few faux berries at his feet! He loves this stuff! :)

Don't you love the colors of Fall? I sure do!

Pretty oranges, reds, golds and yellows ~ Falleness of color.

Now, maybe I should get a fire going and sip a nice cup of hot tea! Well, actually the air conditioning is going full blast and it's supposed to be close to 100' this week! I'm doing my best to 'rush' the temps around here because Fall is almost here! :)

The House in the Roses for Show Off Your Cottage Monday,

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Light My Fire

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

The time to hesitate is through
No time to wallow in the mire
Try now we can only lose
And our love become a funeral pyre
Come on baby, light my fire
Come on baby, light my fire
Try to set the night on fire, yeah

You know that it would be untrue
You know that I would be a liar
If I was to say to you
Girl, we couldn't get much higher
Come on baby, light my fire
~ sung by The Doors

  9. Shelia my dear you answered my question! Before I started reading I was looking at the mantel and thinking she has went out and got all this new to decorate with...the reason I was thinking this is because mine always look awful when I take them out of storage. lol I started reading and got my answer. Mr Rooster can be proud being the first to set on the mantel...gives him that right. He does fit right in with all the fall colors....he is quite lovely. Trish

  12. I remember that I started following your blog about this time last year when your house was getting that 'fallen' look. :-) I so enjoy your blog and your humour. Your mantle looks very nice. I have put a few things out but the trees aren't turning colour too much yet so I'll wait a week more before I put the fall leaves out. I don't want to rush the season even though it's already cool here at 65 degrees! Blessings, Pamela

Mr. Rooster even looks dressed in his fall colors. I guess he's no dumby, if he wants to be on display he'd better dress accordingly!
