Now if you don't know, I'm having another Heart of the Home Party - Roosters and Chickens, and you're invited! I thought I would remind you by showing you a few of my Rooster and Chicken things.
I love this tiny little Chicken egg dish. It was given to me by my friend, Jan from Jan Tanis Designs blog. Isn't she cute?
White Chicks and a colorful platter. I just love this stuff!
Here's a couple of little tea towels I've made and use quite frequently - Roosters and Chickens.
Then a darling little Rooster or Chicken tassel, I can't decide which one. Another little cutie.

Okay, now I would love for you to come to my party on Tuesday, August 9th, right here at Note Songs cottage. I know you all love your yard birds like I do and you have lots to show. Even if you only have one yard bird, come on to the party.

THE GIVE AWAY
Now I will have a give away for those of you who link up to my party! I'll take your link number to draw a winner after the party. I think you'll like it and I'll show it to you later what it will be.
So I hope you're arranging and snapping away and getting your posts ready! I'm excited and hope you are too! I can still hear those sounds from the Chicken Coop, can you?
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Foot Loose
Been working so hard
I'm punching my card
Eight hours for what
Now tell me, what have I got
I got this feeling
That time's just holding me down
I'll hit the ceiling or else I'll tear up this town
Now I gotta cut loose, footloose
Kick off my Sunday shoes
Please Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back
Come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose
You're playing so cool
Obeying every rule
Dig way down in your heart
You're burning, yearning for some-
Somebody to tell you
That life ain't passing you by
I'm trying to tell you
It will if you don't even try
You can fly if you'd only cut loose, footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Oohee Marie, shake it, shake it for me
Oh Milo, come on, come on let's go
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose
Cut footloose, cut footloose, cut footloose
First we've got to turn you around
Second, put your feet on the ground
Third, now take a hold of your soul
I'm telling you loose
Footloose, kick off your Sunday shoes
Please Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back
Come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut footloose
Kick off your Sunday shoes
Please Louise, pull me off of my knees
Jack, get back
Come on before we crack
Lose your blues, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody cut, everybody cut
Everybody, everybody cut footloose
~ sung by Kenny Loggins

Hello My Dear. I live in a small midwest town of 490. We have several people who have chickens within our city limits. I grew up with them too. I often hear the old roosters early in the morning and the cluck, clucks as Sissy and I walk by. I love there scratching as well. And I am not ashamed to say. Fried Chicken is my most favorite food. Go figure. RC at My Old Historic House
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, Cockadoodledo to you today! That's what I heard as I walked in the yard this morning from way down the road. ;-) I love your chicken/rooster collection. Have a great day! ~ Pamela
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia, I haven't heard any clucking or crowing from chickens and roosters in years, only feathered things making a ruckus here are you-know-who! But your dishes, oh my, the first photo, and the little egg dish, love them. I do love a good roast chicken, as terrible as that sounds, being a bird lover and all. :( xo
ReplyDeleteI have heard some clucking and rooing going on in my house so I think they are getting ready for their big party! Looking forward to it for sure!
ReplyDeletehugs
Linda

This is so funny, because last night I watched, "The Regular Show", a cartoon on Cartoon Network, and one of the characters in the episode sang "Foot Loose" at a Kareoke club - with the words on the screen to sing along with !! It was so funny and the song has been going through my head all day.
ReplyDeleteLove, Lorraine
Hello my dear Shelia!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the invitation to the Rooster and Chicks party ... woo-hoo!
Gonna break out my fowl.
LOVE all your chickies ... those white napkin rings? My Mom had those -- I think they are still at the beach house!
My daughter brought me a rooster from China, too -- I'll include him in the party, although he doesn't speak much English.
Happy days!
Cass
Shelia, you have the CUTEST roosters and chickens around blogland! I love all those dishes you pictured and those napkin rings! Wow! How fun. I have a few things but I don't know if I have enough to share. :(
ReplyDeleteDonna

I love all of your roos, Shelia! The roo tassel is too cute, too. What a fun party ... not sure that I have enough roos to participate, but I'll have a great time being inspired by everyone else's! xo
ReplyDeleteYour post attracted me because we are working on a coop today for our chickens. Do you let live ones participate -- or are they too messy? P.S. I love the black and white tablescape. Joni
