Still Red, White & Blueing

Hello Dear Ones! I know July 4th is over but I have just one more little patriotic post to share with you...bear with me. Once a month, our women's group from church has a luncheon and for the month of July, it was at my house.

I set a mixed up red, white and blue table.

I used my Blue Willow and my Old Britian Castle dishes and mixed them up - red, white and blue! :)

With every other place setting, I used a blue napkin or a red and white toile napkin poked in a glass.

This was the fun part - the centerpiece! I grabbed a tarnished wine bucket and went to town! I poked in white flowers and then I poked in some red flowers, a couple of little flags and it was done! :) Now you know these flowers are from my stash of fauxs. I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me! :)

Since I was mixing up my dishes, I plopped down the sugar and creamers from each set - more red, white and blue! I sprinkled some patriotically wrapped candies down too.

I have two buffets on each wall in the dining room and my table is in the center of the room. Here is one little vignette I set up. Another tarnished wine bucket with more red and white fauxs and a little flag. A sugar scuttle and a picker - upper finish it out while sitting on a napkin sitting on my silver box! I love uses my silver boxes in here.

Here's the other side of the room with an old tarnished ice bucket filled with more red and white fauxs all sitting on top of another silver box! I poked in a flag too. I tried to make both buffets look more casual by putting a red and white checkered runner down.

Well, after I got the table set I was outside grilling hot dog wieners, making potato salad and a strawberry and blueberry trifle! I'm sitting down because I was dog tired! :)

Oh, I almost forgot! This was the dessert table in the breakfast room. I used my most handsome Rooster, poked in some faux hydrangeas and a flag. There were desserts but we ate them all! ;)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Don't Rain On My Parade

Don't tell me not to live, just sit and putter
Life's candy and the sun's a ball of butter
Don't bring around a cloud to rain on my parade
Don't tell me not to fly, I simply got to
If someone takes a spill, it's me and not you
Who told you you're allowed to rain on my parade
I'll march my band out, I'll beat my drum
And if I'm fanned out, your turn at bat, sir
At least I didn't fake it, hat, sir
I guess I didn't make it
But whether I'm the rose of sheer perfection
A freckle on the nose of life's complexion
The Cinderella or the shine apple of its eye
I gotta fly once, I gotta try once,
Only can die once, right, sir?
Ooh, life is juicy, juicy and you see,
I gotta have my bite, sir.
Get ready for me love, 'cause I'm a "comer"
I simply gotta march, my heart's a drummer
Don't bring around the cloud to rain on my parade,

I'm gonna live and live NOW!
Get what I want, I know how!
One roll for the whole shebang!
One throw that bell will go clang,
Eye on the target and wham,
One shot, one gun shot and bam!
Hey, Mr. Arnstein, here I am ...

I'll march my band out, I will beat my drum,
And if I'm fanned out, your turn at bat, sir,
At least I didn't fake it, hat, sir,
I guess I didn't make it
Get ready for me love, 'cause I'm a "comer"
I simply gotta march, my heart's a drummer
Nobody, no, nobody, is gonna rain on my parade!
~ sung by Fanny Brice

  30. The title of your post just cracked me up! I could so relate to sometimes not being through with a theme! I love your toile napkins. They are perfect with the transferware dishes. The menu sounds wonderful. I'd be a little tired myself after all that work. No one but a fellow tablescaper knows how much goes into creating an appealing setting. Wonderful job!
