Nesting

Hello, Dear Ones. While my most tiny big toe is getting better I decided to play around with a little vignette on my coffee table on my sun porch.

Our weather has been really beautiful - sunshine and nice weather (sorry Most Snowed In Ones! ). Spring is in the air so it was time to let the little birds out!

I made mama bird a little tiny nest in my milk glass footed bowl. This bowl shows up all the time all over the house with flowers or fruit and now birds in it. I do love this bowl! Can you love milk glass footed bowls? You bet your robin's blue eggs you can! :) I didn't have a nest large enough to fit this bowl so I poked in a few little moss balls. She seems to love this ~ just look at that smile! :) I'm wondering if she's trying to pop out some more eggs? Time will tell! :)

As you can see, the baby birds have hatched and are sitting on a couple of olden books. I don't think they're quite ready to fly off yet as they're staying very close to their mama!
Oh, I think I must go sit down and milk my accident with my tiny big toe! :) I'm such a little stinker! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you a little Note Song ~

Snowbird

Beneath it's snowy mantle cold and clean,
The unborn grass lies waiting for its coat to turn to green.
The snowbird sings the song he always sings,
And speaks to me of flowers that will bloom again in spring.
When I was young my heart was young then, too.
And anything that it would tell me, that's the thing that I would do.
But now I feel such emptiness within,
For the thing that I want most in life's the thing that I can't win.

Spread your tiny wings and fly away,
And take the snow back with you where it came from on that day.
The one I love forever is untrue,
And if I could you know that I would fly away with you.

The breeze along the river seems to say,
That he'll only break my heart again should I decide to stay.
So, little snowbird, take me with you when you go,
To that land of gentle breezes where the peaceful waters flow.

Spread your tiny wings and fly away,
And take the snow back with you where it came from on that day.
The one I love forever is untrue,
And if I could you know that I would fly away with you.
Yeah, if I could I know that I would fly away with you.
~ sung by Anne Murray

  3. Those birds are so sweet! So sorry to read about your toe. I know how much that can hurt. A couple of years ago I was stung by a bee on my big toe. Discovered I was allergic to bee stings and my also tiny big toe was swollen for days. Couldn't believe how painful it was. So take good care of yourself. I just became your newest follower. I thought I signed up to follow you long ago. Sorry for the delay!

    Love,
    Susan and Bentley

  9. Sorry to hear about your bum toe, but it looks like you are keeping your mind off of it by playing with the birds. The Momma in her nest and the babies are just too cute! Hope you are enjoying our Spring weather (although todays a bit grey and gloomy!). Take care and keep them waiting hand and foot on you...you deserve it!

  22. Hello Sheila, I am so sorry about your toe. It looks very angry at you. It is a blessing you didn't fall. Your toe is telling you in black and blue language to be more careful. Smile.

Congrats to the new bathroom diva Sares. She is a pretty little thing. You are very serious about the crowning of a new diva. And you definitely give me a good chuckle.

Love the Sentsy and I must say it is a pretty jar too.

I too adore birds. You have placed yours so sweetly. I DO love the milk glass bowl. Milk that toe injury to the limit dear. We girls must grab every moment we can to appear helpless. Smiling here.

Happy Spring and lovely days ahead. We have some spring flowers popping up and then we had 27 degree weather. Not good but expected this time of the year.
Warm hugs and I hope your toe is much better soon.
    Love, Jeanne

  45. I love these new HOLY birds.

Take care of that nasty toe!

  46. Hi Shelia, I hope your little birdies are singing sweetly to you so you can forget your troubles! But please, if your toe is not 100 % better soon, please see a podiatrist, as a broken bone is much better than the soft tissue damage that can occur in your foot joints! I am not trying to scare you, but I know from experience that soft tissue damage can occur in that joint and become painful again! I hope you recover fully soon, and in the meantime go ahead and get some attention from your good hubby! Linda
