It's time for Valentines

Hello, Dear Ones! It's time...
It's time for a Valentine Post! I just love these little vintage Valentine cards, don't you? Well, that's Chloe Dawn and me! Pretending... :) Valentine love!

First I'd like to show you a heart wreath I found last year, I think, at Target on clearance! Those little berries look good enough to eat, don't they?

I've set up this little spot on my counter top in the kitchen. Lace, white and roses! Feel the Valentine love?

Now let's go into the breakfast room where I've put together a little tablescape of love! :) Valentine love! I've layered the table with a red tablecloth and threw the square lace over the top (this is the lace that was scrunched and it survived!) :)

Red and white = Valentine love! Did you know that? :)

I've set the table with some dishes I found last year at a thrift shop. They're rather olden. I love the sweet little pattern with the garlands of flowers between the dark red (more like burgundy) bands. The pattern is Brittany by Homer Lauglhin.

Plate rims = Valentine love!

There were no dinner plates with the set but little breakfast plates. I'm supposing that is what you call them ~ smaller than dinner plates but bigger than salad/dessert plates! Regardless, they are saying Valentine love! :)

Then supporting all the dishes are these pretty creamy chargers I found at Marshalls a while back. Creaminess of chargers = Valentine love.

Since my breakfast table is small, I poked these sweet little embroidered napkins into the juice glasses. Oh, did I tell you? We're having a Valentine love breakfast!

Sweet little cups and saucers ready for your coffee or tea.

A few pieces of silverplate - definitely says Valentine love!

You can always have candlelight ~ Valentine love ~ even in the early morning!

Go ahead a take a seat!

Now if you will just peep over to your left you'll see my tiny little hutch. I've just replaced a few things to make it look a bit more like Valentine love!

Here's an old milk glass basket, I'm sure you've seen it before. I made the arrangement years ago and just have never changed it! I love it = Valentine love! :)

I've poked some red plates in here from Marshalls. Then I've poked in some Fruit Harvest plates by Spode. Red plates and fruit plates = Valentine love! :)

I poked in some vintage valentines among the plates and other pretties. More Valentine love.

Sweetness is abounding in here! Sweetness that belongs to that special day - Valentine's Day!
I just love Valentine love, don't you?

Would you, Dear Ones, please be my Valentine?

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

My Funny Valentine

My funny Valentine
Sweet comic Valentine
You make me smile with my heart
Your looks are laughable
Unphotographable
Yet you're my favourite work of art
Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?
But don't change a hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine stay
Each day is Valentine's day
Is your figure less than Greek
Is your mouth a little weak
When you open it to speak
Are you smart?
But don't you change one hair for me
Not if you care for me
Stay little Valentine stay
Each day is Valentine's day
~ sung by Frank Sinatra

  44. Sheila:

Great table. I love that pattern Britany. I have a few peices I've picked up here and there and just love the depth of color with the roses. Although not a terribly fine china, it is so full of color and life.

You also got me thinking as I have those Spode fruit plates as well and never would have thought of putting them with red, but they look spectacular. I actually have them stashed with my fall dishes as I tend to think of them as fall colors. I think I need to pull them out and play with them.

Thanks for all of the inspiration.

  54. Hi Shelia,
Your tablescape is so sweet!! Everything is very evocative of Valentine's Day. I really like your Homer Laughlin dishes. My Mom has a set of Homer Laughlin dishes complete with serving pieces and everything that she got with Green Stamps years ago. I have always loved it. Your silver-plate pieces are beautiful and I adore the cross-stitched napkins! I posted my first tablescape at Susan's TT yesterday, and if you have a minute, please stop by to see it. I appreciate all views and comments, as I am new to blogging. By the way, I love the name of your blog. We are all musical at our house, so I can really appreciate your choice of names. My husband, my son, and myself play piano, and my son is in his University concert and pep band -- he plays French Horn and Mellophone.
    Happy Valentine's Day!
