Hello, Dear Ones! Hope you all are staying warm as I see so many of you are getting lots of snow!! :)
I wanted to share some tiny little bargains I got not long ago. These pieces were old, I could tell, and tarnished. But that didn't scare me away!! No no Nannette! Not one bit!

One of the thrills...I picked them up for $1 each! Woo Hooness for me!! :)

I'll start with this pair. They're not the same pattern and have no markings on them. Do I care? Nope, I mean, no no Nannette! :)

Look at the pretty server. Isn't she pretty? She must be pretty old as she didn't shine up as well as I would have liked. But, hey, I love her and she'll work out just fine.

Now look at this gorgeous large fork! She shined up just beautifully!! I'll enjoy poking things with this!! :)

Then I found these two little twinkie pick up thingys!!

Look at the pretty design on them. They didn't shine up a bit. I really don't care. I'll be picking up little petit fours and all kinds of little bitty tiny dainty things to eat with these! :)

Just look at the gorgeouness of handle! Very birdlike, I think! :)

Pretty, huh? I love these too!

Aww...

I just had to poke in some clear depression glass to set up a little vignette. An olden plate and an olden bowl. Just try to imagine dainty tasties in these dishes that were served with my new olden silver plated pieces.

I'm also showing you one of my favorite cake stands.

See? She's very pretty and very happy to be in the vignette with all the olden silver plated pieces.

She has such a nice figure even though she's very often filled up with nice little fattening dainty tasties! :) She reminds me of myself - I'm often filled up with nice little fattening dainty tasties myself. Well, my figure's a little on the fluffy side. Just sayin'... :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little
Note Song ~
Pretty Woman
Pretty woman walkin' down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman, I don't believe you
You're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy...
Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help but see
Pretty woman, and you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me
Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah, yeah, yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
Cause I need you
I'll treat you right
Come with me baby
Be mine tonight
Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, don't make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away
OK
If that's the way it must be, OK
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night
But wait, what do I see?
Is she walking back to me?
Yeah, she's walking back to me
O-Oh Pretty woman.

One dollar? Very good buy. I love that cake plate...I can just see a coconut cake on it! People seem to be giving away their silver. I am buying a lot at yard sales. ♥O

ReplyDeleteYou did well with those, Shelia! That's a great price for those serving pieces. Can't believe you got a meat fork, a pastry server (or is that a tomato server???), and two sandwich and/or pastry servers for that price! You aren't kidding when you say, Woohooness! I'm proud of your good eye! And I love the cake stand and pretty crystal you showed us, too. Ahhhhh... now, I've had my shiny object fix for the night. I'm living vicariously through you, my friend.

ReplyDeleteOk...I was cracking up....did you ever hear the saying "ewes not fat, ewes fluffy"? I have been fluffy most of my life! ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, It is good to be back and catching up. I posted our grandson's wedding today. It was a wonderful event with lots of our loving family present.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your dollar treasures. I too would never miss a bargain like that. Old silver can be a treasure in black disguise. Smile. Your pieces are beauties. Lucky you to see a vision of silver beauty.
We are still snowed in and it is still snowing. I admit to enjoying the beauty of it all. Our Cheri' is still trying to figure out what it is all about. Today she was walking across the crusty top of the snow and all of a sudden she was at the bottom of 12 inches of snow. It was so funny. I remember walking on crusty snow when I was a kid in MI and sinking to my waist. It gave us a good laugh. Cheri' just went on like nothing happened. HA!
Stay warm my friend,
Hugs, Jeanne
