HEP me! Somebody HEP me!

Hello, Dear Ones. That's right, I said HEP, that's Texan for HELP!! I'm trying to get all of the Christmas decorations put away and I'm tired. Been working on it for three days. Well, I stop and take lots of breaks. :)

Took me a couple of hours to take the balls off the tree. Now I know we say ornies and ornaments in blogland, but the truth is my mama called these little colorful shiny orbs - Christmas balls and so I do too!

Gold and silvery balls...

Red and green balls with some silver ones poked in. Can't leave out the little breakable shapes.

Colorful oldish looking balls...

Cute olden sorta balls...

Crosses and angels poked down on a chair...

Ribbon balls, made by me, little wire thingys and little jeweled thingys...

I guess I should have joined Marty for Tabletop Tuesday with this one...

Got my plastic bins ready and got my balls all sorted...

I'm feeling a little bit better. One bin is packed.

Whew! Got my balls in their boxes and now they're all packed into their bins waiting for Mr. Precious to put them in the attic. Whew, again! Whew!

Now here is where I need some HEP!! Now everything's a mess! HEP me! Somebody HEP me!! Well, I think I'll take another break and drink my Cherry Diet Dr. Pepper ~ see it sitting on my ladder? Aw...that's better. I'm through for the day!!

I hope it's okay with Kim at Savvy Southern Style
but I'm linking to her BTB Party for Wednesday

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Help!

Help, I need somebody,
Help, not just anybody,
Help, you know I need someone, help.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self
assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the
doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

And now my life has changed in oh so many ways,
My independence seems to vanish in the haze.
But every now and then I feel so insecure,
I know that I just need you like I've never done
before.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me.

When I was younger, so much younger than today,
I never needed anybody's help in any way.
But now these days are gone, I'm not so self
assured,
Now I find I've changed my mind and opened up the
doors.

Help me if you can, I'm feeling down
And I do appreciate you being round.
Help me, get my feet back on the ground,
Won't you please, please help me, help me, help me

I haven't even started disassembling Christmas trees or decorations. I feel your pain! I'm likely to draw it out for days as well.

Looks like you made a dent! Hurray!

  9. Hep me, too! I still intend to put my tree up and have Christmas in either January or February. LOL!

Loved seeing all the Christmas balls, Shelia, and you deserve two cokes for all of that hard work and maybe half a dozen cookies, too. I had the other half dozen to cheer you on!

  11. You're way ahead of me Shelia, so pleeeeease come help me when you're all done! Your Christmas "balls" look so pretty, all organized, almost making a pretty design on the floor. I think you are a much neater and more organized packer than me (of course, that's not saying much, since I'm not very good at all at organizing!) Wishing you and your family a wonderful 2011! laurie

  15. Funny! All I have left of our Christmas decorations is one lone poinsetta plant. I hate to throw it out but it just won't live in our climate, inside or out. I would hep you if I was closer!

  16. You just got finished putting them up! Boy, all that work, I think I would leave them up till the end of January. I say we protest and have Christmas extended. Sounds like you need to start the a month before next year.

Hang in there, kick your feet up and rest.

  17. Your banner looks fantastic, Shelia! I have everything (most everything I think) packed away in the plastic boxes. But there they sit on the deck, with nowhere yet to store them. Gonna have to start pitching stuff from the garage, I reckon.

  20. Oh, Shelia...I feel your pain! It took me two days going non-stop (ok, I did take a few breaks) to get all my stuff packed up. Doesn't it seem like we just put it all out?!!! You know what, Texan talk sounds a lot like the way folks in GA talk. ;) I pictured you standing with your hankie out, batting your eyelashes as you called "Hep!"

  27. At least yours look somewhat organized...mine are a mess to behold. I was in such a rush to get that tree out of the house that I placed the decorations all over the hutch top, the sofa table, the dining room table...I just got in a frenzy...then rushed over to "hep!" you...saw how organized it all looks and went back to my mess!
Hugs to you...I'm no help at all. Back is screaming...feet ache...what a mess!!

  29. Howdy Sheila! My floor looks a lot like yours only I didn't put as many ornaments on my tree this year. I still have glitter and garlands and pieces of this and that scattered throughout. It takes a long time, doesn't it? Just wanted to pop over to wish you a blessed New Year. So glad I came so I could offer some Hep! :)

    Love ya,Donna

  30. Sheila,
I have been doing the same thing today. I didn't think I'd ever finish. Then you gotta figure out how your house is supposed look "normal"! It sure seems to take a lot longer to put it up than it does to get it all out.

  31. Ah...a fellow music lover ;) Love your lyrics. I used to belong to a few music sites, and we played trivia. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you with the holiday decor, I do not envy you. On a side note, what a pretty home you have! Thank you for your kind comment on my "paper trail" post. xoxo tami

  41. It is an amazing amount of work and every year we do it all over again. I always seem to underestimate how long it takes to put it all away.

This would be a great addition to Seasonal Sundays. We're all in the same boat and misery sure does love company.

  43. Hi Shelia
You have been a very busy lady putting away so many beautiful decorations. It is always so much more fun putting them up than taking them down I think. Although I am always ready to take them down when its time.
You certainly deserve a cherry Doctor Pepper.
Beautiful decorations...I love to pick up something new at the end of Christmas to surprise me the next year...
    *hugs*

  49. I finally decided to get mine back into storage, then stopped to go thru some and rethink if want to keep them. Every year, I say I am going to do things differently and every year it is the same "old song". Taking a break and trying to catch up on some blogs. I have a table like the one in your first picture. Even tho handed down in the family, it has no sentimental memories attached.
    Enjoy your weekend.
