Girly Girly

Hello, Dear Ones. I thought I would share you what I've done with my little Duncan Phyfe drop leaf table in the den.

I decided to go a little girly girly on it for a change. Mr. Precious is okay with it! :)

I played with my photos too to make them look a little romantic and dreamy. I love that, don't you? Can you love your little altered photos that look a little romantic and dreamy? Well, you bet your Romeo and Juliet's long good night kisses you can! :)

If you visit me often you know I love to poke little chests upon my tables and put stuff on top of them! This little chest is filled with flatware. Now I would say silverware, being from the south and all, but there's no silver in that chest at all. Okay, I'm getting off track. Upon my little wooden chest I've propped up a sweet little white tray, a little porcelain flower thingy and one of two white ladies. The little lady loves it up here and she's even shakin' a leg (southern for dancin'). :)

Isn't she sweet? Listen...I do believe she's humming too!

Then the other little white lady is standing on the table. I do believe she is saying, "Romeo, Romeo, where art thou, Romeo?"

Isn't she a pretty little thing? I found this little couple a year or so ago at Ross or Marshalls. I've never even used them in my decorating around the house. They've been hiding in a cabinet. Poor little things! Like caged birds ~ set free... :)

Here's the little flower thingy. My mother gave this to me and I believe she found it at Wal Mart. It's special to me because she gave it to me and it's a pretty little piece too, don't you think?

Take it in...just breath. I'm really talking to myself, Dear Ones! You know I'm a silly! :)

I almost forgot! I have used this pretty green vase filled with faux hydrangeas on the side. I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me! :) You're probably tired of hearing me say that, but guess what? I'm going to keep on saying it because it's so true! :)

Well, there's my girly girly table. Hope you like it and I'm always so greatful to have you pop in for a visit.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Man! I Feel Like A Woman!"

Let's go girls! Come on.

I'm going out tonight-I'm feelin' alright
Gonna let it all hang out
Wanna make some noise-really raise my voice
Yeah, I wanna scream and shout
No inhibitions-make no conditions
Get a little outta line
I ain't gonna act politically correct
I only wanna have a good time

The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun

Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy-forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts-short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild-yeah, doin' it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action-feel the attraction
Color my hair-do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free-yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!

The girls need a break-tonight we're gonna take
The chance to get out on the town
We don't need romance-we only wanna dance
We're gonna let our hair hang down

The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun

Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy-forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts-short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild-yeah, doin' it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action-feel the attraction
Color my hair-do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free-yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!

The best thing about being a woman
Is the prerogative to have a little fun (fun, fun)

Oh, oh, oh, go totally crazy-forget I'm a lady
Men's shirts-short skirts
Oh, oh, oh, really go wild-yeah, doin' it in style
Oh, oh, oh, get in the action-feel the attraction
Color my hair-do what I dare
Oh, oh, oh, I wanna be free-yeah, to feel the way I feel
Man! I feel like a woman!

I get totally crazy
Can you feel it
Come, come, come on baby
I feel like a woman

  7. Well Darlin' I do think you've done a splendid job on your tablescape. Girly girl is right up my alley.... and faux posies...well, I'm kinda partial to them too. These days you can hardly tell the difference. As long as you get the real LOOKING green stems and leaves. So...keep sayin' what ya say and singing and dancin' around with the "song". xoso Sandy O

  16. Good morning Shelia, you do make me smile my friend. Your table is all about things I love too. The girls deserve to be shared and displayed. They are very pretty, as is the whole table top display. The flower your mom gave you is very pretty. I too love porcelain flowers. It looks like porcelain and it is a sweet gift. I think faux flowers are a great accent to any display. Those faux hating designers are entitled to their opinion but it is ONLY an opinion. Right???

Have a happy girly day. I will too.
    Love, Jeanne

  34. So pretty Shelia. I love this girly girl look.

The place where we bought the little chair (in the midst of a snowstorm) has oodles of mid century furniture. I saw several duncan phyfe drop leaf tables and a set of duncan phyfe dining room furniture that reminded me of my grandmother. I could load up our truck, quickly. Just a delightful antique mall.

  40. Oh my gosh...you are just too funny.

I, too, am all about the fauxs. Thank God for fauxs. Without them, there would be a lot more brown around my house. As in dead plants!

That flower thingy that your mom gave you is way too lovely to be from Wal-Mart! I love it! And your romantic ladies are too pretty! I have a passion for and collect any type of creamware, which I have not yet shared on my blog. I will have to do a post about that soon!
