Anything Goes

Hello, Dear Ones and hope you all had a great time welcoming in the new year of 2011! Can you believe the year has gone so fast? Me either.

I was pleased to know I'm not alone in staying in my jammies for a good part of the day while blogging! Whew! I'm in very good company, well, I'm supposed to be saying "was"! I'm making changes you know.

Speaking of changes, you'll notice I still have my Christmasy header on my blog and I need to change it. So I have a few new headers to show you and maybe you'll tell me which ones you like the best. I know lots of you have really spiffy headers that have been made for you and that's wonderful. But I like to make my own...some are good and some probably not so good. But I'd love to know what you think. Now you probably know by now that little silhouette girl at the piano and the saying "Life is a song, don't you think?" has become part of my blog.
So take a look...

I didn't enlarge these so I hope you can see them okay. This is just a little silly one. Red...

I got this idea from Pat at Backporch Musings. She is so good at everything. I used a picture of my piano and watercolored it up in Photoscape and fiddled with the edges.

This is just what it is...papers and a little watercolored photo of my piano.

A few little snaps from my blog all lined out with a little ribbon in the back.

More snaps from my blog and pretty simple.

This is the funnest one (is that a word? Well, I'm making it my word!) A little swirly, sqiggly, floraly thingy and lots of wild colors.

Well, what do you think? I don't know what I'm doing, but I have fun. I kinda like the narrow and wide headers as I've never used a great big one before. I use some digital scrapbook elements in making my headers. I think I know the one I'm going to use for now but you'll probably being seeing each one of these at different times.

I'm joining Our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday
as this is a blog header metamorphosis in progress. :)

Well y'all be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Anything Goes

Times have changed,
And we've often rewound the clock,
Since the Puritans got a shock,
When they landed on Plymouth Rock.
If today,
Any shock they should try to stem,
'Stead of landing on Plymouth Rock,
Plymouth Rock would land on them.

In olden days a glimpse of stocking
Was looked on as something shocking,
But now, God knows,
Anything Goes.

Good authors too who once knew better words,
Now only use four letter words
Writing prose, Anything Goes.

The world has gone mad today
And good's bad today,
And black's white today,
And day's night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes

When grandmama whose age is eighty
In night clubs is getting matey with gigolo's,
Anything Goes.

When mothers pack and leave poor father
Because they decide they'd rather be tennis pros,
Anything Goes.

If driving fast cars you like,
If low bars you like,
If old hymns you like,
If bare limbs you like,
If Mae West you like
Or me undressed you like,
Why, nobody will oppose!
When every night,
The set that's smart
Is intruding in nudist parties in studios,
Anything Goes.

The world has gone mad today
And good's bad today,
And black's white today,
And day's night today,
When most guys today
That women prize today
Are just silly gigolos
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes

If saying your prayers you like,
If green pears you like
If old chairs you like,
If back stairs you like,
If love affairs you like
With young bears you like,
Why nobody will oppose!

And though I'm not a great romancer
And though I'm not a great romancer
I know that I'm bound to answer
When you propose,
Anything goes...
Anything goes!

  2. Sheila, you are more computer savvy than me. Of course everything I have read on blogging says to get a header and keep it. I am going to have a blog redesign done sometime. My favorite is the first one and I like the next to last one, too. Cute headers.

  9. Wow! It took me forever to come up with something new and you were able to whip out all of this. I am so impressed, you are so smart. I have two of these that I really like; the one like Pats, and the one with the multiple images in rounded edge photos. That would be the next to the last one. Gosh, now I'm thinking I didn't do so good w/mine. LOL! All of these are really great though and any will be wonderful! Happy New Year!

  13. first, I like #1 and #5...whew... had to get that down before I forgot... You are quite talented in creating your headers. I too love to change mine all the time. Its a woman's purgative to that...... ya'know.

I hope you did and ate the traditional things one eat and does new year's day. I ate a bite of what we are suppose to eat... then jumped into the box of chocolates hubby brought in. I will later watch my calories when the box is empty.

I hope your new year was a happy one. Blessing to you and your sweet family.

  17. You have to keep the piano!

    Happy New Year!

  18. Well, I liked them all..but the one with the colored papers...and the water color of the piano..was my first favorite...and the second...one I really loved was the next to last. And ...you can change them out as the mood strikes you. I like that idea. If I could do that, I would. I just do not know anything about headers..and stick to my seasonal ones. I am ready for a new one though.
Right now life is complicated enough.. :) so sticking with what I have.
Now...yep...water color and next to last.

My idea's are NEVER what others like...lol so..it's going to fun to see what you come up with.
What a fun idea this was. Wow...you did great, Shelia, and I am up for seeing even more of your idea's! YOU BE SOOO SMART! :)

    Mona

  23. Happy New Year Shelia. You are going full throttle already I can see. As for your blog header, I like the one with the individual snaps strung together. It's very original and a bit like piano keys. Think it would look super too. But will wait to see what you choose. Best to you, Jane

  34. Hi Sheila, Happy new Year. You are very good at those headers I see. It would be between 1 and 2. Whatever you choose will be great! Because you are still the gal behind the blog. night night.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Hi, Shelianess..like you, I like the personal headers better, too. Just makes the blog more ....well....personal ! :))
I like all the ones you did here. The great thing, it takes about 5 minutes to get it all changed so, you will be able to change up and use all of these. I have a whole folder of headers I've made and I love to go back, pick a favorite, and go with it. Also with the new Blogger templates, it's so easy and quick to change our backgrounds. I love that.
