P P

Yep, I said P P...

perging and painting!!

Mr. Precious has retired and life has not been the same. Now it's been fun, mind you, but we're working and working and working.

Mr. Precious got the bright idea we should purge the closets of all the junk and clothes we no longer wear and then paint! Sounded good to me.

But one little ole closet wasn't enough...we're going to purge every closet in the house and then paint it! Oh, my Lord!!! Now we live in an olden house and we don't have the magnificent closets so many of you have and of course I covet those. I have actually given up the biggest walkin closet. Taken all of my tiny clothes out. Reluctantly given it to Mr. Precious to store his collections in. Am I crazy? Probably! But I'm such a good wifey pooh, you know! :)

Well, I'm just a working my most dainty little fingers to the bone! I've been climbing up and down the ladder so much my knees and hips will never be the same.

What? You thought I would show you the 'befores' of these little closets? You did? And ruin my most perfect image I'm sure you have of tiny little ole me? No way! :)

Oh, Mr. Precious really is helping me but I'm a much better painter. He's doing a great job moving out the 'stuff'! He's the purger and I'm the painter. P P! Yep, that's what I'm doing.
I haven't been around as much as I would like but bear with me. I'll be back when I can ~ AFTER we'd P P'd - purged and painted!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

When I Paint My Masterpiece

Oh, the streets of Rome are filled with rubble,
Ancient footprints are everywhere.
You can almost think that you’re seein’ double
On a cold, dark night on the Spanish Stairs.
Got to hurry on back to my hotel room,
Where I’ve got me a date with Botticelli’s niece.
She promised that she’d be right there with me
When I paint my masterpiece.

Oh, the hours I’ve spent inside the Coliseum,
Dodging lions and wastin’ time.
Oh, those mighty kings of the jungle, I could hardly stand to see ’em,
Yes, it sure has been a long, hard climb.
Train wheels runnin’ through the back of my memory,
When I ran on the hilltop following a pack of wild geese.
Someday, everything is gonna be smooth like a rhapsody
When I paint my masterpiece.

Sailin’ round the world in a dirty gondola.
Oh, to be back in the land of Coca-Cola!

I left Rome and landed in Brussels,
On a plane ride so bumpy that I almost cried.
Clergymen in uniform and young girls pullin’ muscles,
Everyone was there to greet me when I stepped inside.
Newspapermen eating candy
Had to be held down by big police.
Someday, everything is gonna be diff’rent
When I paint my masterpiece.

Tabletop Tuesday - Den Coffee Table

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Tabletop Tuesday hosted by our Most Wonderful Marty at A Stroll Thru Life! Make sure you pop in to her blog to see the many decorated tabletops today.

I'm showing you my coffee table in my den today.
Just a simple little vignette.

I have a pair of the sweetest little birds perched upon some spare bark pieces. Aren't they the sweetest? :)

Next I've placed a large pottery bowl we purchased in Orvieto, Italy many years ago upon my hostess tray.

See the pretty hand painted details? I love this and my Mr. Precious picked it out!

Now look at the lid. Oh, I think it's just so pretty! Now this most precious piece of pottery is of the color that matches absolutely nothing! So in my tiny decorating mind I tell myself - since it matches absolutely nothing it has to go with absolutely anything I want it to go with. So here it sits in it's blazen gloryness!

Now since I'm the most creative one, I've made an arrangement of faux flowers that are just blooming their tiny hearts out for me. These pretty blooms never wilt, they never die and they never drop their petals! So, what do I say? I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me. Yes sirree bob!! :)

Even though it's a little dreary outside, I will have a burst of color on my coffee table in my den. Now I do want you to see how clever I am - the color of the little birds do match the colors in my pottery piece. See?

Now pop on over to Dear Marty's blog for lots of eye candy!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Wear You Love Like Heaven

Color and sky brush and blue
Scarlet fleece changes you
Crimson ball sinks from view

Wear your love like heaven
Wear your love like heaven
Wear your love like heaven
Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Kiss me once more
So I may, so I may

Wear my love like heaven
Wear my love like heaven
Wear my love like heaven
Color sky heaven alic
Color sky rose carithe
Arisari and crimson

Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Kiss me once more
So I may, so I may

Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Kiss me once more
So I may, so I may

Cannot believe what I see
All I have wished for will be
All of our race proud and free

Lord kiss me once more
Fill me with song
Kiss me once more
So I may,

Blue and Met Monday- Mantlefestation

Hello, Dear Ones! Welcome to Monday!! I'm joining our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday and our Dear Sally at Smiling Sally for Blue Monday. Pop in to pay them a visit and it will just make your Monday. :)

It's Mantlefestation time! Now that Christmas is over (well long time over) I've tried to make some changes on my mantle. This was my Christmas mantle.
We were traveling quite a bit so I was not able to take everything down until mid January!

Well, this is my change. I think I like it. I've had it this way before.

I found these urns years ago and just fell in love with them. I decided to make little topiaries for them. So I bought the forms, poked em in the urns and then poked on some greens and here they are.

Since we live coastal, I always have to have a little shell or two hanging around. I love this star fish! Can you love little star fishes? Well, you bet your Pirates of the Caribbean you can. :)
Here's some Blue for you, Dear Sally!

Sitting beside my topiary urns are these little Staffordshire dogs! I have a collection of these little beauties and this is my largest pair! Too cute.

Sitting in the middle of the mantle is this old mantle clock! Appropriate name, don't you think?

On one side of the hearth I've placed two candle jars. Light the candles inside and you get - twinkle twinkle! :)

On this side of the hearth I have this...(?) At first I thought it was a pineapple but no no Nannette! I don't think so now. Could this be a pine cone? Or maybe it's an artichoke? I really don't know but I do love my (?) Can you love little (?) Why, you bet your little whatchamacallits you can! :)

Now any self respecting fireplace hearth must have a cricket for good luck. So here sits mine. Don't be scared - he's not going to jump on you. He's dead, well, he's metal. :)

Well, this is my contribution for Met and Blue Monday! Please go visit Dear Susan and Dear Sally and you'll be delighted!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

I'll Be Watching You
(this song has nothing to do with my post, I just like this one!)

Every breath you take
And every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
Ill be watching you

Every single day
And every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
Ill be watching you

Oh, cant you see
You belong to me
Now my poor heart aches
With every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
Ill be watching you

Since youve gone, Ive been lost without a trace
I dream at night, I can only see your face
I look around but its you I cant replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please

Oh, cant you see
You belong to me
Now my poor heart aches
Every step you take

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
Ill be watching you

Every move you make
Every step you take
Ill be watching you
Ill be watching you

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
(Ill be watching you)

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
(Ill be watching you)

Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
(Ill be watching you)

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
(Ill be watching you)

Every breath you take
Every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
(Ill be watching you)

Every single day
Every word you say
Every game you play
Every night

Living Room

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to my living room. The wall color is the same soft green as the dining room. I feel this room in my home is the least finished. Love my sofa, love my olden winged back chairs but I have a problem ~ they just don't go together. Well, one day I'll recover or slipcover the winged backs but for now it is what it is! :)

Again the window coverings are the same as in the dining room. I made these and just put different trim on them.

Here's another view of the living room with the artwork I presently have over the sofa.

Tabletops are always changing.

The piano ~ my gift! I love my piano and this is where I play my little Note Songs for you.

Always the prettiest at Christmas time.

Clocheing with Marty

Hello, Dear Ones! It's time for another cloche party with our Dear Marty at A Stroll Thru Life.
This is always an exciting event! Make sure you pop by her blog to see all of the marvelous objects that will be poked under glass domes.

Now, my cloches seem to be a bit flighty! Yep, flighty! I'm dreaming of springness and my little birds have found their way under the cloches. Hope you enjoy my flightyness.

First, I wanted to bring you into the dining room. Now if you pop in to see me very often you may remember these cloches ~ I featured them in a tablescape. As I was taking all of my dishes off the table I decided I would keep this flighty vignette.

Peep peep peep...

These little flighty ones seem to really like being under the cloches so they can stay here for a while!

Now we'll go into the living room. More flightyness.

Here's another little bird.

Peep...

Moving over to a corner of the living room...more flightyness.

Loving being under glass, these two little darlings are sitting atop a bell ~ smiling.

Peep peep...

Here we are in the breakfast room. I love this wire cloche with a little flightyness on top! See that little birdie? Peep!

Fruits and veggies sitting on puffs of green are all enclosed under chicken wire! :)

...and more flightyness of family! Mommy bird with her two babies are trying to get a tiny bite of the fruit. Peep peep peep...

We've ended up in the kitchen with more clocheness, well, sort of. More like domeness.

What's under that dome? Eggs... Which came first the flightyness or the egg? :)

We're all ready for a little breakfast. Tiny flightyness holding a soft boiled egg!

Eggs don't peep, do they? Oh, but chickens and roosters do...peep peep!!

Thanks for popping in to see my flighty clocheness! Now pop on over to see our Most Wonderful Marty to see the other cloche party participants.

Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Mockingbird

Hush, little baby, don't say a word,
Mama's going to buy you a mockingbird.

If that mockingbird won't sing,
Mama's going to buy you a diamond ring.

If that diamond ring turns brass,
Mama's going to buy you a looking glass.

If that looking glass gets broke,
Mama's going to buy you a billy goat.

If that billy goat won't pull,
Mama's going to buy you a cart and bull.

If that cart and bull turn over,
Mama's going to buy you a dog named Rover.

If that dog named Rover won't bark,
Mama's going to buy you a horse and cart.

If that horse and cart fall down,
You'll still be the sweetest little babe in town.

So hush little baby, don't you cry,
Daddy loves you and so do I.
~ sung by ME!! :)
