Pink Saturday

Dear Ones, I've been away from Pink Saturday for sometime and now I must come back. I've missed all of the Pinkness so much. I appreciate our Dear Beverly so much for hosting this. I am sharing with you my very first Pink Saturday post.

Hope you enjoy it...

This is my first time to participate in Pink Saturday hosted by Beverly at How Sweet the Sound . Make sure you go see her and then you can visit all the other Pink Ones today! Thank you Beverly, this is going to be fun!

Well, I must hurry so I can catch up with all of you!

Let's see...hear we go. I'm waking up on this beautiful Saturday morning and wonder what it is I had planned to do today? Oh, I almost forgot! It's Pink Saturday! So, I jump out of my pretty pink bed...

Hop into my pink clawfoot bathtub, must be fresh for my day. Let's see, where is that bubble bath!

I dry myself off with my pretty pink towels. One for my little (ha ha) body and one for my gorgeous hair!

Now, it's time for all my pink froo froo -lotions, combs and brushes, toothpaste, make up, and of course my Chanel No. 5 to smell oh so sweet!

I do want to look nice today - I'm going shopping - so I'll put on this pretty polka dot pink dress. It's so hot, sleeveless will be good and cool for me!

Let's see, where are my pink shoes? Here they are, my favs. They are rather high heeled, but they are oh so comfy and I can walk for hours in them.

Now before I leave the house, I must have a good breakfast to give me nourishment and strength for my shopping trip! Oh, look! Mr. Precious has set the table for me with my pretty pink dishes (he's out for his morning run)! Is that some strawberry sherbet he has left for me? Well, it is pink and it is Pink Saturday!

Ok, I'm ready to go. I'll grab my pretty pink hat to shade my gorgeous blue eyes from the sun.

OOPS! Mustn't forget my pink cell phone. You know how we need these things and I must call and check on Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn from time to time.

Here is my pretty blingy pink key fob with all the keys to my cars on it. This just makes a girl feel so special when all these shiny jewels are in her hand. It's almost as good as shiny jewels "on" your hand!

Now, being that Mr. Precious is a millionaire and has bought me so many wonderful pink cars, it's hard to make a decision on which one I'll take for the day.

Let's see...this is cute, but I don't feel like being Ms. Pink Hoity Toity today. I won't be taking this pink car.

Oh, I just love my pink jeep, but I'm not going to be traveling up and down hills today, so I think I'll pass on this cute pink sweetie. Kiss kiss Pinky Jeepy!

Here's another cute pink favorite, but it's not appropriate for shopping - no where to put my treasures!

I simply adore this little precious pink number, but I don't think I want to "work" my little legs so hard and I could destroy my beautiful pink shoes!

Now this is the pinkness I will drive today! This little pink car is just perfect for a shopping trip! See the marvelous pink hubs!

Okay, I must not forget my pink shopping bag and away I go!!

I've just found my first treasure - a pink tea pot! This will be perfect for Jan's tea in August!

Into my shopping bag goes this adorable pink bear for my Chloe Dawn!

Oh look! A pink tool box filled with all of the little pink things I need to fix and hang things around my pink house!

Oh my, it's lunchtime now! I'm starving! I pop into the ever popular Pink Tea Room for a bite. I sit at a table where I meet new pink friends! Every gal at my table has on the same pink polka dot dress as me! I am having a marvelous time being pink!
I'm taking the last few sips of my pink strawberry smoothie when...

Here comes my wonderful piece of pink cake! All the gals at my table are getting a slice of pinkness too!

Now that lunch is over, I want to just pop into the Pink Tootsie Wootsie Shop and buy some pink flip flops. Oh, I adore these! Into my pink shopping bag they go. Well, of couse I paid for them with my pink money! That's all the cash I have left!

I've had a wonderful day of shopping and meeting new friends. I'm even bringing home two slices of that delicious pink cake for Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn.
As I drive my little pinkness of automobileness down my pink street, I see my lovely home awaiting me in all of her pink glory.

As I enter my house, I drop all of my pink treasures on the pink shag rug next to the front door and spy my favorite pink checkered chair. She is beckoning to me...sit, sit, sit in my pinkness and rest your weary pink feet, she says.

What do you think I'm going to do? I kick off my favorite pink shoes, plop down in my favorite pink checkered chair and say to myself, "I am so happy, content and blessed to have had a perfectly wonderful pink day!" (I know it looks like my feet are outside somewhere, but you're seeing the unfinished hardwood floors in the living room that Mr. Precious hasn't sanded and stained yet).

Oh, back to my story. Chloe Dawn very carefully tiptoes up to her Mommy bringing me a cup of tea in my favorite pink cup. "Thank you, my precious," I say, and she walks back into the other room. I notice she is wearing pink house slippers on her little feet so she can walk quietly.

I have had a delightful Pink Saturday!

This is a fictional story. Pink names, pink storylines and pink colors have been changed to protect the innocent.
Here's a little Note Song for you ~
Pink
Pink it's my new obsession
Pink it's not even a question,
Pink on the lips of your lover,
'cause Pink is the love you discover

I'M SO HUMBLED

Oh, Dear Ones!! I have a wonderful thing to share with you today!! If you visit me much you know that we're going to be blessed with our first grandbaby in March! I'm just bowled over with the generosity and love that is shown here in our wonderful Blogland! I have a dear Blogfriend who wanted to bless my daughter with a handmade quilt. Yes, Dear Ones! Handmade! I received it yesterday and I am so overwhelmed with the beauty of it. I want to share it with you.

Look at this precious quilt! The yellows and greens because we don't know what sex we're having!

See this precious little bear? He's the big one in the center and he has been completely handstitched around. There is so much work here. Again, I'm just beside myself with thankfulness!

Now I want you to see the work of all the squares! See those tiny little squares of green and beige! Precious! Then look at the triangle sides of the bigger squares! Dear Ones, this precious lady has been working on this for months!!

Now here is one of the four little bears! Darling!! See all of the handstitching around all the pieces? My mother is a quilter and I took this over for her to see and she was so amazed at the beauty of this precious quilt! She was examining it and saying - ooh and ah!! She even called one of her little neighbor ladies to come over and see it!! :)

Another little bear. Oh, I'm in love with this little quilt!

Here is the entire baby quilt. Look at the precious border with the little baby print fabrics! It's all so sweet and soft and the back lining is baby flannel! I'm typing with tears in my eyes. My daughter is going to love this!

Now I want to share with you the Most Precious Lady who made this darling quilt for us ~

It's our own precious Alaura from Cottage Rose! Isn't she the prettiest one? She is as pretty inside as she is outside! (I covet her hair, too!) Thank you Dear Alaura for making this sweet baby quilt for us. My words fail me as I try to thank you! But I do thank you from the bottom of my heart!! May God rain blessings down upon you!!

Please pop over to Alaura's blog and tell her I sent you so you can brag on the beautiful job she did on this darling little quilt!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Wind Beneath My Wings

It must have been cold there in my shadow
To never have sunlight on your face
You were content to let me shine, that's your way
You always walked a step behind
So I was the one with all the glory
While you were the one with all the strength.
A beautiful face without a name, for so long
A beautiful smile to hide the pain

Did you ever know that you're my hero
And everything I would like to be
If I can fly higher than an eagle
You are the wind beneath my wings
It might have appeared to go unnoticed
But I've got it all here in my heart
I want you to know I know the truth
Of course I know it
I would be nothing with out you

Fly, fly, fly away
You let me fly so high
Oh, fly, fly
So high against the sky
So high I almost touch the sky
Thank you, thank you, thank god for you
The wind beneath my wings

Tabletop Tuesday

Hello, Dear Ones and I'm so excited to get to take part in Tabletop Tuesday for the very first time! This great event is hosted by our Dear Barb at Grits and Glamour. Make sure you pop in to visit her beautiful blog to see beautiful tabletops!

I'm bringing you into the breakfast room today to show you my little setting on the table.

After all the Christmas was put away, it was time to bring out the Roos and Chicks again.

First I have this lovely brightly colored Chicken and I've filled her little flower spot with hydrangeas ~ faux of course! :) I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me!

Don't you just love fauxs? Yep, I do too!

Then I popped a little plate up on its end. Same colors. Almost the same profiles. Aren't these little ladies so elegant? :)

Now on a breakfast table you must have your little sugar bowl and little creamer so here they are! One lump of two? :)

Next I have a little candlestick my Mother gave to me. She had this for many a year. It's from Home Interiors, do you remember that company? I had a few little parties in my home through the years but somehow I don't have any of my hostess gifts! Anyway, this was a golden color and I didn't like it so what to do? Take out the spray paint and go to town. I like it much better now.

Little glass votives with little candles popped in.

Isn't the base pretty? And all my little objects are sitting on a crocheted round pineapple edged doily. I love that! :)

Well, there you have it ~ my little tabletop in the breakfast room. Now pop over to Barb's for lots of inspiration!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Morning Has Broken

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven.
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetnes of the wet garden,
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass.

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning.
Born of the one light Eden saw play.
Praise with elation, praise every morning;
God's recreation of the new day.

Morning has broken, like the first morning.
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird.
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning,
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word.

We're Nekked!!

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Monday!! I'm joining Blue Monday hosted by our Dear Sally at Smiling Sally, Met Monday hosted by our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch and Mosaic Monday hosted by our Dear Mary at Little Red House. Make sure you go visit these ladies and be very inspired!!

Now, I'm just shocked at my home! Yes, I am! It's NEKKED! That's Texan for naked, ya know!
Just look in the living room...

My tables are baring their all! Their tops are nekked! Oh, Lord! I'm so ashamed. Then..

My breakfast room hutch is really nekked! She is showing everything she has! Why am I showing you all of my home's nekkedness? Because there is a solution to this nekkedness problem. We'll start with my little hutch.

Ta Dah!!! The solution to furniture nekkedness is to cover her nekkedness with stuff! Now the fun begins!

Whew! See? There is hope for nekked furniture pieces! I feel so much better now.

Although my little hutch was never without her hat, her shelves were showing her nekkedness. I'm kinda fond of the yard birds so that is just what I poked upon all the shelves!

I learned a little trick from my sweet friend Lynne at Lynne's Gifts From the Heart! See the little napkin draping over the top shelf? Well, Lynne had talked about the texture of fabric and letting it drape down a bit over a shelf to give more interest to your vignettes! Did I do good, Lynne? :)

I received these darling Rooster dishes for Christmas from my Mr. Precious! I also created a tablescape with them a few weeks back. If you'd like to see it you can click here . When I had placed all of my Rooster dishes on the shelves, something was just missing. It didn't look right! :( It was just too blah! Now I can't go from nekkedness to blahness so I started poking in some white pieces and I think that looks so much better.

White Roosters. Don't they just make you happy? They'll cover up nekkedness every time! :)
See that sweet little child's teapot? I found that in a thrift store a few years back and it's just so sweet with the little baby chicks. See the blue Sally? If you listen really closely you can hear their tiny little cheep cheeps! Can you hear them?

Here's a little Rooster picture filled with hydrangeas. I love hydrangeas, don't you? Mine are faux of course! Gotta love faux flowers to cover up a multitude of sins - I'm speaking of nekkedness. Nekkedness is not a sin (well, that's debatable isn't it?) but flaunting it like my tiny hutch was doing ~very bad news! Trust me and please say a prayer for my hutch!

Now we're looking at the bottom shelf and all of the yard bird business is doing a wonderful job covering up nekkedness. See? Even a little runner over the top of the shelf.

Praise the Lord! We're decent now! :)

Here is the cutest little ole Rooster pitcher. Can't remember where I found him but I've had him for a few years.More blue, Sally! Pretty little Fitz and Floyd salt and peppers are standing tall here. Love my s & p!! Can you love little salt and peppers? You bet the shirt off your tiny back you can! :)
See the cute little odd plate in the background. Another willing little soul to cover up some nekkedness! What little troopers my yard birds are!

Let me tell you a little story and you know how I love to tell you little stories. A few months back I was strolling down the aisles of Marshalls with my tiny dainty fingers clutching the handle of the shopping cart looking for special treasures! Well, my tiny most gorgeous eyes spotted this little sugar and creamer set! I feel in love immediately, popped them into my cart and brought them home. They've been playing around in my kitchen for sometime.Well, Christmas time came and I took this little pair away and brought on the red and green. When I started to cover up the nekkedness of my little hutch I thought about this little duo. Pulled them out of the cabinet and my heart skipped a beat! Yes, Dear Ones, it really did! They were the perfect match to my Rooster Christmas dishes! Hallelujah! Woo Hooness! Was I happy! Now wasn't that a great story! A match made in Heaven or a match made in Marshalls! You decide! : ) and this is not THE END! :)

Here are some of the humongous mugs with the set and another little odd yard bird plate to fill in the gaps. See those precious little white napkins rings? They're really not covering up any nekkedness they're just for adornment! My sweet friend Jan at Rose Haven gave these to me. I love them. Smile sweeties!

Now any decent hutch would not be complete without a tassel. Yep, that's right! Tassels just make the furniture! :) Here is the perfect one to finish our ensemble! A Rooster tassel! Fluffyness abounds here and a wee bit of embarrassed fuzzy photoness! I love this stuff!

There you have it, Dear Ones! From nekkedness to clothed and decent in just a short amount of time!

Now when you come to see me I won't be embarrassed of my silly hutch showing all of her splendorness in a very embarrassing way. She looks so much better and has calmed down a lot. Thank heavens!

uh oh...

What's a mommy to do? Doggy nekkedness! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Lady Godiva

Seventeen a beauty queen
She made a ride that caused a scene
In the town

Her long blonde hair
Hangin' down around her knees
All the cats who dig striptease
Prayin' for a little breeze
Her long blonde hair
Falling down across her arms
Hiding all the lady's charms
Lady Godiva

She found fame and made her name
A hollywood director came into town
And said to her
"How'd you like to be a star?"
"You're a girl that could go far"
"'specially dressed the way you are"
She smiled at him
Gave her pretty head a shake
That was Lady G's mistake
A-hey-hey-hey
Lady Godiva

He directs certificate 'X'
And people now are craning their necks
To see her
'Cause she's a star
One that everybody knows
Finished with the striptease shows
Now she can't afford her clothes

Her long blonde hair
Lyin' on the barber's floor
Doesn't need it long anymore
Lady Godiva
