Christmasing in the Den

Hello, Dear Ones! Here's some little snaps from around the den at my house. I'll apologize right up front for the not too niceness of snapping. Both of these areas are just so hard to photograph with my little point and click camera. Just sayin'... ;) You'll still love me won't you?

Okay, this is what I call my Crystal Bar - no strong drink - just strong cut glass and crystal.

Years and years ago I made this ornament wreath. I used all non breakable balls.
I thought that was so smart because I knew in my house if I used glass balls the wreath wouldn't make it the next year! I use a wreath of some sort hanging here on the glass all year round. You can see the mantle across the room peeping through. :)

I've told you many times, but our house is a 1970s house and it has mirrors everywhere. My Crystal Bar has mirrors on three sides here, so reflections galore. Lots of Fostoria passed down to me from my aunt Alma. You can see my most dainty shoulder and arm with a camera attached! :)

Here's the other side of the Crystal Bar. Some more olden Fostoria and other crystal pieces. You can see my most fluffy, um, tiny side here in the mirror.

You can see I've poked down a few Christmas balls to try and tie in with the bright colors from my ornament wreath.

I also have a few of these little bubble night lights. This one is so sweet and the little flame part has glitter in it and it just dances all around as long as the light is on.

Here's another area of the den and it's dark also. I always have that lamp turned on because this is just a dark spot. If you visit me often you may notice we hung the cuckoo clock here because there is a stud in the wall. Little cuckoo was hanging on another wall and I just happened to look up at it and it had just about ticked and tocked itself off the wall!

So you can see I have set up a tiny village, various kinds of buildings. These are really Mr. Precious' little houses. He doesn't care what brand they are - he just loves them.

This is a little piece that used to light up - it died. I bought the special little bulb for it, plugged it up and it shone so sweetly for about ten minutes and then it died again. So it's cute, but it's dead!

This is my favorite of Mr. Precious' little buildings.

Now this excites me. I used this picture last year as I had the table set up almost the same way. It actually snowed here in Galveston a few years back and this is the snap I took of our home in the snow. Well, I took it to Photoscape and played with it and made it look more like a watercolor and framed it to sit here with Mr. Precious' village. I'm talented like that, you know! :)

Then I poked down some faux berries and a golden beaded garland and was done!

There you have it - a couple of little spots all Christmased out for you to see! Now just pretend you do not see my extention cords poked under the table. :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow

Oh the weather outside is frightful
But the fire is so delightful
And since we've no place to go
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

It doesn't show signs of stopping
And I've bought some corn for popping
The lights are turned way down low
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

When we finally kiss goodnight
How I'll hate going out in the storm!
But if you'll really hold me tight
All the way home I'll be warm

The fire is slowly dying
And, my dear, we're still goodbying
But as long as you love me so
Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!
~ sung by my little village
