I Hate To Admit It, But...

...I've become a Fallen woman!

Now don't go smiling and start gossiping about me and all
because I've been to your blogs and you're Fallen too! :)
I had to get on the band wagon and get my Fall on too.

I've been waiting for you! Come on in...

Got my pun'kins out and my Fallen wreaths on my doors.

I love these wreaths. I made them three years ago and
each Fall since ~ here they hang.
Now come on in...it's still 90 degrees out here.

Here we are in the entry and she's Fallen too! More pun'kins and flowers. You can see my olden glass basket sitting on my olden vintage table that is filled with flowers (faux, of course) that I put together a few weeks back. I just poked in a few Fallen fauxs into the arrangement and now it's Fallen too. Let me take you on a tiny Fallen tour...

No, not upstairs! I just wanted the chance to show you how my birds are flying up the wall here by the staircase! :) I'm wonderful like that you know! :)

Here in the living room is where our tiny Fallen tour begins. Little did I know when I started trying to put together the furniture in here that it would have a Fallen colored look to it. Burnt orange and creams. The artwork over the sofa is filled with pictures of little flowers and the writing under them is in German. I think I need to hang two more pictures ~ one on each side of it. Do you think that would look okay?

Lots of subtle Fallness on my big ole round table, which I love! Hydrangeas in a Fallen basket, amber glass hurricane filled with shells and a candle. Shells? you say? Well, we do live coastal, you know. Then some of my favorite decorating books with a little Fallen bird sitting on top and then its tiny little mate looking on!

Oh, look! I found some Fallen pillows for my sofa! Did you know as much as I love my sofa it's the hardest thing in the world to find the right color of pillows for it. I am going to go shopping for some creamy somethings to add. Do you have any suggestions? I'm open ~ and Fallen! :)

Here is a sweet little table my Mother gave me ~ I love it too ~ with a little more subtle Fallness.
I've poked some hydrangea heads under a cloche. That's pretty Fallen, don't you think? I also have three crystal pieces sitting here and two have some amber glass on them. More Falleness!
I love this stuff! :)

I have a Chinese ginger jar lamp colored in Fallness of colors! Now I've been thinking of adding some trim to the shade so it would look a little more spiffy.

Now we've almost come full circle in my tiny Fallen living room. Here is my cherished gift ~ my piano where I play my little Note Songs.

Since we're at the piano I thought I would show you how I've dressed her. She's wearing a crocheted tablecloth I made many many years ago. Actually I'm crocheted two tablecloths. Also have a couple of gold colored candlesticks and no, that one is really not bent, it just looks like it in this photo. Wonder why that happens? Maybe I have magical candlesticks! :)

You can see there is a big ole floral arrangement sitting on top of my piano that I made many years ago. I have lots of oldeness in my home! I made this to sit on my dining room table but after a few years I brought it here and poked her up on the piano. I like her here and so here she sits. Big ole Fallen fauxness. You know what I say ~ I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me! :)
You love 'em too, don't you?

Hope you've enjoyed my tiny little Fallen living room tour. Now if you'll just take a seat I'll play us a little Note Song! What would you like to hear, Dear One?

I'm joining our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday,
our Dear Cielo at The House in the Roses for Show Off Your Cottage Monday
and
our Dear Marty at A Stroll Thru Life for Tabletop Tuesday.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Seasons Suite: Fall

Reflections "in" the water like shadows in my mind
Speak to me of passing days and nights and passing time
The falling leaves are whispering winter's on it's way
I close my eyes remembering the warmth of yesterday

It seems a shame to see September swallowed by the "wind"
And more than that it's oh so sad to see the summer end
And though the changing colors are a lovely thing to see
If it were mine to make the change "I think" I'd let it be

But I don't remember hearing anybody asking me
~ sung by John Denver

May you have a sweet life and God bless you!

Thank you for praying for me. I'm home and on the mend. Will see what happens next concerning thyroid health. Hoping for a healthy recovery and more energy than I've ever had. Oh Lord, please hear my prayer.

Your livingroom is lovely and the fallen colors are very inviting. I like them!

  5. All I can say is NOOOOOOO! LOL I'll be taken into fall kicking and screaming. I hate this time of year. This is the worst season transition for me. I love summer!
Your home and your fall decorations are lovely though. Just give me a couple more months to accept the passing of summer!

  9. Dear Shelia, I have never been, or will ever be, a fallen women :o( But seriously; all that fallen-ness has got me thinking it might be time to have a little rearraging in my tiny home. This morning I can see my tabletop after clearing away my crafty stuff, lol. You did a splendid job on your wreath. Your home is beautiful. Well done, dear blogging friend.

  24. Hello, Shelia, my friend,
I loved my "fallen tour" of your home. You have a lovely home, and I love all the autumn decor you have added. Those pretty wreaths you made for your door are so charming and inviting. Have a happy almost autumn week! Vicki p.s. It is hot and humid here in Central TX so I am having trouble getting into the autumn spirit. Maybe in a couple of weeks we will have a little more fall like weather. Sure hope so.

  25. Everything looks so pretty, Shelia! And I love the birds flying up your staircase. Happy Fall! :-)

  26. Love your fall decorating...you did a great job on those wreaths on your entry...they are gorgeous. I think you could totally get away with a couple smaller pics on each side of your sofa picture...if they are the right scale. How about a couple mirrors? That could work too. So many possibilities and it is all what works for you. Enjoy Shelia!

  27. Oh you fallen woman! And we wouldn't have you any other way! Love your fall dressing -- yes you make even faux fall the best (in fact...with the weather still so warm...it really is "faux fall" isn't it?) I've been having fun changing my home over to fall as well --- oh my! I guess that makes me a fallen woman too! Oh Dear!

  28. Thanks for the great fallen tour of your living room :-) The colours are so warm and, well, fall-ish!!

I think the artwork above your sofa is just right as it is. As for a place to buy cushions -- I think HomeGoods and TJMaxx are similar to HomeSense here in Canada, which is a great place to buy inexpensive cushions.

By the way, your front door is awesome!!

  29. Sheila, you are too funny. I loved looking around. I just can't seem to get all my fallen stuff in place. But, I sure wish I could sit down at your piano and play a tune out of that familiar Baptist Hymnal.
Have a fun-filled week. Just wish I lived closer so we could have some good laughs together. I love your spirit right through the monitor.
    IN HIM,
    Karen

  30. Shelia, so far I have resisted falling, but now I am very tempted. Your room looks so elegant and cozy and your wreaths are amazing! I clicked on the birds to enlarge, and they look so interesting. Maybe you will show them to us sometime? And I think more wall hangings behind the sofa would be very nice. You could even do something round. But I'm sure that even in your fallen state you can think of something wonderful. Linda

  56. Shelia,
    Ah-h-h, so inspiring. . .
thank you for your Fallen tour! I love the warm palette that you've created for your home! Additional photos above the couch would expand the space. . .had you thought about sconces, skinny mirrors, or an iron grill work? ? ? ? In my "Freshening Up For Fall: Part II" post you'll see that I purchased an antique pediment to place above the trilogy of scenes.
Softening the sofa with a cream throw would afford you a warm place to curl up with a favorite book on a crisp Fall day!
    Fondly,
    Pat
