A Little Peep at my Trip

Hello, Dear Ones! I wanted to share a little bit about our Alaskan cruise with you so I thought I would make a few mosaics and hopefully not bore you to death.

Wonderful Holland American line - fun, food and smooth sailing.

Glorious views from our balcony. The weather was cool but not too cold ~ a wonderful break from this hotter than hot Texas weather. Also we were treated by God to see a huge chunk of ice from the glacier fall into the water and the sounds were just amazing!

The top left photo is a bit blurry but it is filled with eagles visiting with some gulls!

This mosaic is filled with some sights from Victoria Island, BC - The Empress Hotel. We stayed there many years ago and it was great to see it again. The flowers around the grounds were amazing! Those hydrangeas were as big as basket balls! Well, almost as big! :)

If you get the chance to take an Alaskan cruise ~ do it! It's a gorgeous trip and I guess we really liked it because this was our third Alaskan cruise! :)

Now I haven't been able to blog this past week the way I'd like to because I've been so busy...

I've had my two girls with me! We're having a ball and I've been bonding with my little Carter. Is she not the cutest little darling you've ever seen? :) I'm a new grandma and I love this stuff!

I'm joining Our Dear Mary at Little Red House for Mosaic Monday
and
Our Dear Sally at Smiling Sally for Blue Monday.
Pop in to see these lovely ones for lots of visuals today!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

The Time of My Life

Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt like this before
Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you

'Cause I've had the time of my life
and I owe it all to you

I've been waiting for so long
Now I've finally found someone
To stand by me

We saw the writing on the wall
As we felt this magical fantasy

Now with passion in our eyes
There's no way we could disguise it secretly
So we take each other's hand
'Cause we seem to understand the urgency
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because

I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
'Til I found the truth
And I owe it all to you

With my body and soul
I want you more than you'll ever know
So we'll just let it go
Don't be afraid to lose control

Yes I know whats on your mind
When you say:
"Stay with me tonight."
Just remember
You're the one thing
I can't get enough of
So I'll tell you something
This could be love because

'Cause I had the time of my life
No I've never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you
'Cause I've had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
Till I found the truth
and I owe it all to you
Now I've had the time of my life
No I never felt this way before

Yes I swear it's the truth
and I owe it all to you
'Cause I had the time of my life
And I've searched through every open door
Till I've found the truth
and I owe it all to you
'cause I've had the time of my life
No I've never felt this way before
Yes I swear it's the truth
And I owe it all to you

  9. What a great trip! I don't think I'll be going on another cruise again soon -- poor Mr. Mid-Atlantic got really sea sick on ours! But I've loved yours through pictures. That baby is just adorable -- you could just eat her with a spoon! Of course with two gorgeous women as Mama and Grandmama, how could she possibly be anything else?

  10. Hi Shelia! Your trip looks wonderful! I've been hearing all about Alaska from my husband for the last few days. He's been fishing with customers near Ketchican. He's bringing home 100 lbs of fish. Don't ask me what we will do with all of that!

The picture of the three girls is precious. Love Carter's smile.

  11. Hi sweet Shelia ~ I sent my friend Dottie who just started bloggyville today to follow you & your beautiful travels/writes.

Oh, my goodness! What a beautiful mosaic of Victoria. We love it there, but being from we WA ST we saw it often. It sure beats Vancouver, BC doesn't it.

And, that precious pink Carter is GORGEOUS, Shelia ... she so resembles her beautiful g'ma.

Glad you had a lovely trip.
    Have a lovely summer's eve ~

  17. Sheila, Am I the only person who loves to look at vacation pictures? I would love to see more! I guess it's like armchair traveling. And was it terrifying to hear the glacier fall? You look like royalty sitting in those huge chairs! And why are you wearing those white hats? See, these are the things I love to hear about! Your daughter looks just like you and that little one is absolutely adorable! Thanks for the little trip! Linda

  22. Oh Sheila!! I stopped in just in time! I wanted to ask about little Carter and she is so beautiful!! So are you and your daughter for that matter!! Your trip to Alaska looks wonderful. I don't blame you for wanting to get away from the heat. We are all experiencing it this year. My brother is home from Nashville and is savoring the 80 degree temps here in Maine versus the 100 degrees back there! It's been much better the last few days. Your mosaics are wonderful!! What a lucky woman you are!

I'm ready to leave now - oh, but I have to wait for our adventure to Alaska for a couple more years when my sweetheart retires! You've given me 'food' for thought and reason to anticipate!

I've been thoroughly enjoying our summer weather, it's so fleeting here in the PNW, so August is our last chance at a little sunshine.
I can't believe how much Carter has grown. You girls will have to stop by, I posted a tutorial I think you'll find fun.

I came to your blog to introduce myself. My name is Sherry and I have joined the Bloggerette Sorority. I missed the rush, as I have only been blogging for about 3weeks, but I am looking forward to joining in on the fun in the future. I would be honored if you visited my blog at http://scrappingwithsherry1.blogspot.com/ Hope to see you there!
