Doin' Dishes

Hello, Dear Ones! I've been washing dishes ~ by hand. My most dainty creamy fingers have been dipping into these lovely sudsy waters and cleaning my little dishes.

Sudsy. Foamy. Warmy. Watery.

Stacked and drying.

Sitting pretty on top of the dryer.

Yep! I'm doing dishing in the laundry room.

I'm doing dishes in the laundry room and I'll tell you more about it later, Alligator! :)

And...this is my tiny glass just about to be filled with ice and Diet Cherry Dr. Pepper with a tiny little chuck of lime. Mmmm....

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~ this song has nothing to do with my post except it's just the way I feel today! :)

Who put the Bomp

I'd like to thank the guy
Who wrote the song
That made my baby
Fall in love with me

Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!)

When my baby heard
"Bomp bah bah bomp "
"Bah bomp bah bomp bah bomp bomp"
Every word went right into her heart
And when she heard them singin'
"Rama lama lama lama"
"Rama ding dong"
She said we'd never have to part
So

Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!)

Each time that we're alone
Boogity boogity boogity
Boogity boogity boogity shoo
Sets my baby's heart all aglow
And everytime we dance to
Dip da dip da dip
Dip da dip da dip
She always says she loves me so
So

Who put the bomp
In the bomp bah bomp bah bomp?
Who put the ram
In the rama lama ding dong?
Who put the bop
In the bop shoo bop shoo bop?
Who put the dip
In the dip da dip da dip?
Who was that man?
I'd like to shake his hand
He made my baby
Fall in love with me (yeah!!)

  1. How strange to see a post on this at this time, honey. I've just bought a dish drainer and started washing the dishes by hand. It gives me a feeling of peace and kind of centers me, if you know what I mean. I love doing it this way and eschewing the dishwasher, but it sounds like you might be having a sink problem in the kitchen, chick. Hah.

  2. Well at least you do have a sink in the laundry room. That's a life saver. Either you're redoing-remodeling or replacing. Can't wait to see. Hugs, Marty

  3. I'm so curious to hear the reason for dishes in the laundry room sink! My guess is you're getting a new kitchen sink. ; )

  12. Hi Shelia, You definitely have my interest now. I love my dishwasher but sometimes I wash dishes by hand if it is just a few. This is more than a few. What has your dainty little head thought up now. Smile!!!
That is a lovely sink in your laundry room. I have a tub and it always seems to fill up with stuff. Right now it will be a pretty big project to clean up my laundry room. Sigh! I might add that I LOVE my laundry room. I posted it once but I have changed it a bit. Oh yeah, that will get me going on a clean up campaign. HA!

I'll be waiting for your next post girl.
    Love ya, Jeanne

  13. I don't know why you are hand washing your dishes in the laundry room but....sometimes I find hand washing very relaxing! Especially so when there are lovely ones to lavish time upon.

I'm off to fix eldest boy's lunch. He's working from here today and I want him to have a super lunch!

    Best,
    Bonnie

  15. Wish I had a sink in the laundry room!! Hmmm, I'm wanting to see what all those plates are on the front side. And, your rooster glass would be great with my new rooster dinnerware:-) I pretty much wash all my dishes by hand these days. I noticed my MIL in Puerto Rico washed everything right away, so I came back doing the same.

  17. I'm sure you have a very good reason for doing dishes there. Maybe that is where you store your extra ones or you are remodeling the kitchen and we will get to see the redo soon.

  18. Uh oh! Do you have a plumbing problem? I hope not. Hope you are getting a farmhouse sink {like the one I have all picked out for when my sink falls apart, which will be never}. Love doing dishes to get them out of the way or have that favorite bowl, cup or spoon handy! ;-D

  28. Hi Sheila....kitchen re-model or broken dishwasher...? I hope it's a kitchen re-do...that is much better then just a new dishwasher!

  29. Dishes in the laundry room .... oh my. My laundry room is down in the dungeon cellar here, so I would be VERY unhappy doing that!

And I have to tell you how gorgeous your kitchen looks -- LOVE the new paint colors, and I agree; the "olden" curtains look wonderful with the new yellow walls. Love the plaid border on the valance over the sink. Beautiful!

And Dion says Hello ... and asks you to give Chloe Dawn a big kiss from him!

  36. Oh Sheila you are so darned adorable!! I just love surprises and can't wait to find out. You know...I kind of really enjoyed this post...looking at the sudsy water and the clean dishes on the towels on the dryer. I don't even own a dishwasher!! Can you believe it? Actually the only time I really miss having one is around the holidays. Most of the time I enjoy doing them...it's soothing and I get to look out my kitchen window at my garden and all the birds flying around and landing on my scarecrow!! Naughty scarecrow likes the birds!!

  37. You are TOO cute, Shelia! And, those dainty little fingers shriveling in ALL that water!

We just got a new dishwasher, c'mon over with your bucket of dishes & we'll try it out together.

Your kitchen is FABULOUS Sheila ... I love the makeover ... so warm, inviting & crisp.

You just tickle me to no end, sweet lady.

    Have a beautiful weekend.

  43. Hi Sheila, Your post today is adorable, your laundry room sure is cute. Diet cherry dr. pepper with a twist of lime sounds delish, I think I will give that a try, I just started with diet soda and hate it. LOL I loved your previous post, your kitchen looks beautiful in the yellow. I'm thinking of doing my laundry room in yellow and red. Do you watch Sarah's House on HGTV? Her decorating is fabulous! It's on Saturday at 8:30 PM EST Best show on HGTV Are your dining room curtains Queensland fabric? I have that in my living room.
