Them? Shoot! No, no Nannette! Let ME eat cake!
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
MacArthur Park
Spring was never waiting for us, girl
It ran one step ahead
As we followed in the dance
Between the parted pages and were pressed,
In love's hot, fevered iron
Like a striped pair of pants
MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
and I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
and I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
I recall the yellow cotton dress
foaming like a wave
on the ground around your knees
The birds, like tender babies in your hands
and the old men playing checkers by the trees
MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
and I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
and I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!
There will be another song for me
For I will sing it
There will be another dream for me
Someone will bring it
I will drink the wine while it is warm
and never let you catch me looking at the sun
And after all the loves of my life
after all the loves of my life
You'll still be the one.
I will take my life into my hands
and I will use it
I will win the worship in their eyes
and I will lose it
I will have the things that I desire
and my passion flow like rivers through the sky.
And after all the loves of my life
After all the loves of my life
I'll be thinking of you
and wondering why.
MacArthur Park is melting in the dark
All the sweet, green icing flowing down...
Someone left the cake out in the rain
and I don't think that I can take it
'cause it took so long to bake it
and I'll never have that recipe again
Oh, no!

ReplyDeleteMy mouth is watering... Shame on you... And I don't have any chocolate in the house. This is like dangling Chloe Dawn's favorite toy through a closed glass door. She can see it but can have it... Maybe I can get hubby to go to the store... wont be the same though. whimper...sniff sniff...
Well...I didn't know I was invited to come over. You did say Company was coming, didn't you?

ReplyDeleteHow long did you have to wait to eat it...not long I hope...aw it looked so good. Trish
ReplyDeleteChocolate cake . . . yummy!
ReplyDeleteHope you have a fun weekend. ~ Sarah
Oh Shelia, Thank you for the sweet comment, I will pack a BIG bag if you don't mind and stay awhile. You can take me to some of your favorite antique stores so I can stock up. I will bring an extra suitcase. It will be so loaded down with bargains they will charge me an extra ticket to fly it back home. I wont be picky houseguest, will eat anything, sleep anywhere. Heck, I will just bunk with Chloe Dawn. Just save me a piece of the cake.
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteYour cake looks so good! Just have your tiny slice and turn that side to the wall!
Valerie
Sheila: It is not nice to post photos of chocolate cake! It is my favorite and I have none in the house. Send me directions to your house please.
ReplyDeleteBest,
Bonnie
I don't know which is prettier...the cake or the cake plate?!! You have a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!
ReplyDeleteOh what a scrumptious looking cake! Lucky guests!
