Pink Saturday

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Pink Saturday hosted by our most Pink Beverly at How Sweet the Sound.

A few weeks ago we went to spend time with our Dear Daughter and son in law and new darling granddaughter, Carter. All of the cherry trees were in bloom.

So I wanted to share the beauty with you! I just love beauty, don't you? Can you love beauty? You bet your sweet bippy you can! :)

These trees were showing off their stuff at the University of Washington. Affectionately called U Dub.

These most glorious blooms were growing right out of the tree trunk! I took the liberty and piddled with this photo a little. Kinda artsy, you know! :)

Mr. Precious and I standing in a sea of cherry blossoms. It really was raining cherry blossoms.

Oh, the gloriousness!

Oh the cherryness!

A few shots of our little family! It was pretty chillly so little Carter was all wrapped up in her blankies. She slept the whole time.

See? Cherry blossoms all over the place - even our tiny feet! Well, my feet are tiny anyway! :)

Make sure you pop on over to sweet Beverly's and your Saturday will be filled with Pinkness!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

The Cherry Tree Song

Oh, Joseph was an old man,
Yes, an old man was he:
He married sweet Mary,
The Queen of Galilee.

And as they went a-walking,
In the garden so gay,
Maid Mary spied cherries,
Hanging over yon tree.

Then Mary said to Joseph,
With her sweet lips so mild,
"Please pluck those cherries, Joseph,
For to give to my child."

"O then," replied Joseph,
With these words so unkind:
"I will pluck no cherries
For to give to thy Child."

So Mary said to cherry tree,
"Bow down to my knee,
That I may pluck cherries
By one, two, and three."

The uppermost sprig then
Bowed down to her knee:
"Thus you may see, Joseph,
These cherries are for me."

"O eat your cherries, Mary,
O eat your cherries now,
O eat your cherries, Mary,
That grow upon the bough."

As Joseph went a-walking,
He heard Angels sing,
This night there shall be born
Our heavenly King.

"He neither shall be born
In house nor in hall,
Nor in the place of Paradise,
But in an ox-stall."

"He shall not be clothed
In purple nor pall;
But all in fair linen,
As wear babies all."

"He shall not be rocked,
In silver nor gold,
But in a wooden cradle
That rocks on the mould."

"He neither shall be christened
In milk nor in wine,
But in pure spring-well water
Fresh sprung from Bethine."

Then Mary took her Baby,
And she dressed Him so sweet,
She laid Him in a manger
All there for to sleep.

And as she stood over Him,
She heard Angels sing:
"Oh! bless our dear Savior,
Our heavenly King."
~traditional English Carol

  13. so pretty! you know i live so close to DC but I don't think I've ever gone there for the Cherry Blossoms. Of course I probably did as a kid and don't remember. You know, next time you're in the area we should get together! I'm only about 1 1/2 from there!

  16. Hello dear Shelia, I haven't congratulated you and Mr. Precious on being proud grandparents. Carter is sooooo beautiful, just like her grandma. Julie and I drove through the tip of Washington on our way home. The cherry blossoms were popping! I always remember hearing that D.C. has the best blooms. Now I know your talking about Washington State right? not D.C. if I remember correctly. I think my trip fried my brain a little lol
Where ever you were, and were ever we were, it was beautiful for sure.
Love your little Diva bathroom pic also. So so cute. I have another one for you of Julie and I. I'll dig it out soon.
Love You and Happy PS Shelia.
