Carter Ashlan...our little darling!
Just so you'll know, we're home now and I'm a little sad having to leave our daughter and son-in-law and especially our little precious Carter. But we were able to spend two weeks and I helped out as much as I could...cooking, cleaning, changing diapers...you know ~ Grandma stuff. Isn't that the neatest little contraption? All the baby things have changed so much since I had my babies, but I was learning.

The bottom photo is their laundry room and it's big! See the great Hoosier cabinet there? I love that piece and it holds her wedding crystal and fancy dishes plus all her baking appliances.
The weather was so nice while we were there and I took little Carter outside a few times so she could get an early start to work on her baby tan! Now you know I'm kidding! :)
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Close To You
Why do birds suddenly appear?
Everytime you are near
Just like me they long to be
Close to you
Why do stars fall down from the sky?
Everytime you walk by
Just like me they long to be
Close to you
On the day that you were born
The angels got together and decided
To create a dream come true
So they sprinkled moondust in your hair
Of gold and starlight in your eyes of blue
That is why all the girls in town
Follow you all around
Just like me
They long to be
Close to you
~sung by The Carpenters

Oh, how sweet that baby is. She already knows to smile for the camera. I like the three generations powder room pic. It looks like the white doggy is going to wake up with a kink in his neck. Your daughter's home is beautiful.

ReplyDeleteShe's darling, sugar, just darling! I canNOT wait until Miss "A" gets here in 2 months. I've already made her 5 pairs of little shoes and a blessing dress. Love Bunny says she'll never be able to wear all those clothes before outgrowing them. Who cares? They're cute anyway. You are sooooo lucky to have a new baby, sweet chick. I'm so jealous we have to wait.

I have to say, I was a little envious when I saw that laundry room, mine is in the garage :-) Your daughter has a very nice home, and that sweet granddaughter of yours, well, she's stealing all of our hearts!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Marcia
Oh Shelia, Carter is just so cute and precious. You are going to miss that little girl. Do you skype? You need to learn if you don't yet so you can see her everyday. I saw my little Nathan today and he is not so little anymore, lol! His cheeks are so chubby and his legs, OMG! I think they're almost as big as mine, lol! I love your daughter's house. It looks very comfy and very neat. Welcome back, grandma!...Christine

Daughter is definitely not frou frou like us...I don't believe I saw one rooster in the lavendar kitchen! Seriously, she has a lovely home and Carter is just precious. I also love the new photo on your sidebard of the 3 generations in the bathroom!
ReplyDeleteOh Sheila! I'm so happy for you!!! I haven't been around much so I missed the birth! I remember when you announced the pregnancy! And I love that she's already a bathroom diva!!! A lady where I work at Curves was commenting that newborns were just not cute....I begged to disagree with her! and here's the proof! God Bless! Lauralu :)
ReplyDeleteI KNOW how excited you are to be a grandmother. Carter is just beautiful and I love her over on your sidebar. Your daughters' home looks beautiful. I bet you are already counting the days till your next trip. I remember my parents making a trip every month for the first few years. Mom wanted to MAKE SURE Lexi knew who she was.♥
ReplyDeleteHappy Happy Grandmahood! Carter is such a cutie -- I do believe she has your smile! She's smiling because she has such a wonderful grandma and grandpa....and lives in such a cheerful home...and has two ponies to ride (er....dogs) and knows that everybody loves her bunches! I remember how I would just cry buckets whenever we had to leave Atlanta after Stella Grace was born...I still hate to wave good-bye...but it does get easier. Enjoy these precious times!
ReplyDeleteLittle Carter is beautiful!!! The purple kitchen is wonderful...I wish I was brave enough to do that!!!
