Indulge Me ~ Please!

Hello, Dear Ones!! I've missed you so much but I've been busy! :)

I know you probably do not enjoy baby filled posts but I ask if you'll just indulge me a little! I'm new at this Grand Mother stuff and I just have to show you my little grand daughter.

Isn't she the cutest little thing?

Snug as a bug. I giggled when I read one of your comments, my sweet friend Mona from Wsprsweetly of Cottages asked "Where's the pink?" Well, we didn't know if we had a little girl or a little boy so all of her clothes were generic. But never fear...Grand Mother brought lots of pink but unfortunately, she'll have to grow into them. :)

Mr. Precious is in hog heaven too!

Three generations...I love this stuff!

Little angel!!

Perfect in every way! Thank you God!

Mirror mirror on the wall...who's the sweetest one of all? Was there ever any question? :)

Magic carpet ride. Wait where is Carter?

There she is! All buckled up for safety.

Sweet pea in a pod!

Girls are always concerned about their weight!

See why I've been so busy? I just can't help myself.

Please know I've read all of your precious comments - yes, every one of them. If you don't hear from me ~ just be patient because I'll get there eventually. Because you see I'll be doing this..

...and this!

Dear Ones I would like to ask for prayer one more time for little Carter. She's doing well, but had her first checkup today and she is not gaining weight as fast as she should. I know she's very new to nursing and is learning how to do it properly. My daughter was just so upset and I would love you to say a prayer for her too. She's trying so hard at new motherhood.

I know all is well. I think I'll slip little Carter some candy and a bit of ice cream! That's pack on the pounds don't you think? Now, you really know I'm kidding.

Thank you so much for being my sweeties. I appreciate you so much. You have stuck with us through thick and thin. I ask God to richly bless each of you.

You are my bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Baby Mine
Baby mine, don't you cry
Baby mine,
Dry your eyes

Rest your head close to my heart

Never to part, baby of mine

Little one, when you play

Don't you mind what they say

Let those eyes sparkle and shine

Never a tear, baby of mine
If they knew sweet little you
They'd end up loving you too

All those same people who schooled you

What they'd give just for the
right to hold you
From your head down to your toes

You're not much, goodness knows

But you're so precious to me

Sweet as can be, baby of mine

~sung by Alison Krauss

  1. What a sweetheart...enjoy and take in every moment, smell, noise you can...Tell Mom to hang in there, we all felt that way in the beginning, it is so overwhelming!

  2. Oh boy, it's a girl! Congratulations you your whole family. She's so darling. I'm so happy for you. Being a grandparent is the best job ever!

  3. She's just gorgeous Sheila!!! And I for one love baby posts! Don't worry too much about her weight, nursing babies do gain a little slower but they are healthy and usually don't become fat babies. My little sister has nursed her Chloe for almost a year now and she's getting tuckered from it, but Chloe is just the healthiest baby! Congrats Again, Cindy

  4. Sheila, she is so sweet and pretty. I just found out my daughter is pregnant and due in October. She miscarried last year so we pray this one goes all the way. I will keep little Carter in our prayers, too.

  11. Hi Shelia,
Little Carter is such a beautiful baby! I love the photo of three generations of beautiful girls.
I think it is hard to relax the first time around with nursing but it gets easier as the days go by and Mama and baby get the hang of it.
I remember going to my daughters last year and on her second day home she cried and said I can't do this but here she is a year later and still nursing little Lila!
It did take Lila a little longer to gain as well.
    Take care,
    Carolyn

  13. Oh, what a precious little princess. Now we can't have the little angel deprived from grandma's loving. Don't you worry a bit about blogging. That little sweet pea is going to be a teenager driving in the blink of an eye. I panicked with both my babies and gave into the bottle. You're all in my prayers, but I'm sure she'll be just fine.

What a beauty lil' Miss Carter ... when I saw all the non-pink I assumed that you all didn't know ahead of time ... but she sure looks gorgeous in these darling outfits & designs ... a living model, she is.

Enjoy her ... time will flit quickly & she'll be graduating before you know it.

I love that picture of just your face and Carter. So precious.

She is a tiny little thing and nursing can be SO hard at first. Tell your daughter not to stress too much. It's OKAY if she has to supplement with formula for a bit.

Btw... Mr. Precious has gorgeous teeth!

Congrats on such an adorable granddaughter!! She is so precious! Such beautiful rose petal lips she has... perhaps those of a singer... I can just hear the two of you singing together, one of my favorite things to do with my sweetie girls.
I will add darling Carter on to my prayer list on my sidebar. So many moms have the same problems your daughter is experiencing, lots of times with the first baby.

Have loads of fun with your sweetie!! Big grandma hugs, Sherry

I have been on a bloggy break and then an unexpected stay in Fl. for 10 days. No time for my computer so I am so happy to read about the new arrival. I am in FL. now visiting my grands. I do know how you are enjoying that precious baby girl. I adore her name. Carter Ashlan is a very special name for a very special sweetie. Yep, a sweetie already. Smile!

  55. Well...you must be psychic! I came over to see if you were a nana yet, and (YAY!) you are! Congrats! Don't worry about little Carter, she will learn to eat. We all did! :) That nursing is tough. I'm so glad to be done w/ that. Tell your daughter to hang in there. I said you must be psychic b/c I was wondering where the pink was & how soon it would be before you had her picture made in the mirror, and you answered both! Congrats again! Isn't it hard to believe a baby can be so small? It won't last long, trust me. She'll be into everything before you know it! Emjoy!

  66. Carter is a cutie, that's for sure. For a future Blue Monday, I do hope that Grandmother buys her a lacy, blue dress!

Assure your daughter that all breast fed babies gain weight more slowly AT FIRST--not to worry. God knows exactly how to handle babies and breast feeding.

  67. Carter is a beauty ... as are her mother and (very young looking) grandmother! I remember my mother telling me when I was an infant she had to supplement breast milk with formula ... and when she did I began to gain weight. She put Karo syrup into it ... which may explain my addiction to sweets? Hang in there ~ ALL of you.
