Hi Ho Silver (Plate)!

Hello, Dear Ones! I've been missing you and trying to make a few visits! But I'm still in the closets painting! I'm tired. I'm sore - I know, I'm outta shape! :) But closets are getting pretty and soon I'll be going through all of the clothes and purging some more!

I didn't want you to forget about me so I'm showing you some stuff I did back in the fall!

A few years back I found a few pieces of silver at a garage sale and purchased them. Well, they're silver plate, but that's okay! I had put them away and had forgotten all about them. While prowling around looking for other things ~ I found these!

I should have taken a before picture! But I had my muscle on and forgot! Well, you can see the tarnish on the wine bucket at the top!

Here's a great view of the tarnish. You can see the difference from the shined up bottom part from the tarnished top part.

Cute little handles.

Now sparkly and all shined up! Gloriness!

Here's my little ice bucket. It was in pretty sad shape when I bought it and I just did the best I could, but I still love it! Can you love little silver plated ice buckets in pretty bad shape? Well, you bet your little ice cube trays you can! :)

I don't know if I would ever use this one without a liner. The inside is glass and it's crackled - very olden! Or maybe just mistreated! :(

The handles on the ice bucket are really very pretty, don't you think?

Quite a little olden pair, don't you think? Now I do believe I've rubbed and buffed and shined and polished all I want to for some time!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

  5. Shelia,
Luv the silver and how pretty it shines up!
When I polish some of my pieces, I think it's neat how they begin to shine. Kind of like opening a present.
I hope to get some painting done this year...we shall see. You go girl!!!
I enjoy visiting your blog and haven't forgotten ya. Enjoy our blogging friendship.
    Blessings to you!

  8. Those are so beautiful...I would love to have them...get them shined up and showing off! Why does silver have to be such a pain to keep it looking nice?! But when it does, it is a thing of beauty! :D

  11. Hi Sheila....

YUMMY.....what a lucky "find".....aren't they just the best? I used to find clothes I had forgotten I bought when I got to the bottom of the ironing basket! Hmmmm.....I don't even remember buying that cute little blouse! Your silver pieces are soooo darn pretty and I love them all cleaned up. Should I send my address now so you can pop them into the mail for me? I hate polishing silver so it would be nice to have them all cleaned up. :-)

Have a wonderful day sweet chickie....

    Hugs,
    Spencer

  14. Oh my goodness! Well, you KNOW I love silver...silver plate doesn't matter. As a matter of fact nearly all of mine is silver plate.

After my last garage sale find I started looking at my other finds and found out my salt and pepper shakers and my candle sticks are sterling! I was thrilled but it doesn't make a tad of difference. I love it all. That ice bucket is just amazing. GORGEOUS! I love it all shined up. They turned out beautiful..so..now where are you going to put it! We wanna see! :)
Hi Ho Silver!! I'm with you, Shelia!
    Hugs and love,

  15. I think it's time to have a party since you have the ice bucket and wine chiller all ready to go. They look beautiful all sparkly. If you want to use the ice bucket even if the glass if cracked you could nestle another glass bowl in the broken one. Stella

  32. Hey Lady! I've been busy, too! Not cleaning, however, just getting ready for my one and only Spring sale next weekend.

I LOVE tarnished silver AND silverplate! :) I have a wine bucket, too...found at an antique shop fairly cheap. I've used it for lots of displays and am so glad I bought it.

If you get a longing to travel and "do closets"....come to my house! I have some that would love your touch!

Have a great weekend! L, Dana
