Hello, Dear Ones! I'm playing Tabletop Tuesday today hosted by our own Barb at Grits and Glamour. Make sure you pop in to see her and the talents of so many others as we play with our pretties on top of our tables.
I've just returned from visiting my daughter, son-in-law and grandbaby to be and had a marvelous time. I have some things I want to share a little later on! Our time is getting closer for a new little family member to enter into this world!! I'm excited!!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Our House
I'll light the fire
You put the flowers in the vase
That you bought today
Staring at the fire
For hours and hours
While I listen to you
Play your love songs
All night long for me
Only for me
Come to me now
And rest your head for just five minutes
Everything is good
Such a cosy room
The windows are illuminated
By the sunshine through them
Fiery gems for you
Only for you
Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
'Cause of you
And our la,la,la, la,la, la, la, la, la, la, la.....
Our house is a very, very fine house
With two cats in the yard
Life used to be so hard
Now everything is easy
'Cause of you
And Our
I'll light the fire
And you place the flowers in the jar
That you bought today
~sung by Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young

ReplyDeleteHow talented...your hands at crotchet! I am in awe of that craft :) ... Did you ever make ornaments? I ask because I have an Aunt who does...snowflakes...
ReplyDeleteThey alway mesmerized me :)
I laughed a bit about your table...sometimes the redo is a wee bit more than we hoped..but still, when your is touched by a piece...what can one do? :)
Oh Shelia everything on your little beautiful table looks wonderful~!
ReplyDeleteYour doily is lovely!
You have created a lovely vignette! The cloches highlight the little spring items and that lamp is so pretty! I can't believe you got that table for $25 - the restoration job must have been great! It makes a lovely setting for your vignette!
ReplyDeleteDD
I love your Spring tabletop. All of the birds are wonderful. I love that doily too. I wish I could crochet like that.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Blessings,
Marcia
Very pretty....and that table is gorgeous! Well worth the $25 AND whatever he charged you to redo it.
ReplyDeleteShelia, that lamp base is just beautiful! Love it! And that's a great story about the table. Our dining room table had outlines of paperdolls that were cut on it. We had it refinished years ago, too. Oh, we do have Garden Ridge here in Georgia, too. I call it "Home Depot" for women! Linda
ReplyDeleteG'morning,sweet sister friend,
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful tabletop.
You surely know how to put things together and make them look special. Everything looks beautiful.
Yes, blogging has taken away all my many talents...well, ok...I never did HAVE any talents but blogging is trying to take away my book reading!! I need to work on solving that issue.
Love, bj
OOO, and, no ma'am, I didn't get a new camera. Maybe learning to use the one I have a little better. And, thank you for liking my photos. :O)

Your tabletop display is beautiful. I really like how you decorated the cloches and your crochet work is exquisite.
ReplyDeleteI think it's amazing that you crocheted that doily! Gorgeous! Love that table too. Your tabletop is looking very pretty!
ReplyDeleteManuela
I love ANYTHING that is "filled with springness"!! So pretty:)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder of "springness" -- I'm soooooo looking forward to spring -- we're due another big snow (yes it IS a four letter word!!!!) Oh well -- and spring will be very special for you --- oh we can't wait until the day you introduce us to your newest little "sweetie"!
ReplyDeleteI love your little cloches with bits of spring under the glass...share it with us, open it and let it out!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful doily...I so wish I could crochet with the small thread...have no problem doing granny squares with yarn, but that little thread doesn't like me!
Oh I love that table..it is beautiful! I am so glad you didn't get the can of spray paint out and ruin it...It is a classic.
ReplyDeleteYou decorated it beautifully, too..
Hello dear Shelia, I am sorry I have missed some of your posts. The bad snow storm we had, left me without net service for three days. We are finally melting but we still have snow. My post tomorrow will show my grands who are visiting skiing and playing in the snow.
ReplyDeleteI love your darling quilt for your new grand baby to come. How sweet of Alaura to make it for you.
This is the first Pink Sat. I have missed ever. No internet. Sigh. Your pink Sat. is so much fun. I love you imagination Sheila. Good job. Now for your table top post. I am a huge fan of birds. I have a large collection of them. Your cloches look so sweet. The box, pretty plate and handmade crochet all looks perfect together on your beautiful table.
Hus xoxo, Jeanne
Your table and its treasures are beautiful. The moss rocks are so pretty and I especially admire that you did the beads on the lampshade.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful cloches you have here...luv your little BIRDS! Thanks so much for coming by for a visit and I hope you will come again:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
I just love what you did on your table and your vignette of cloches..so pretty! I adore your table... I have one almost like it and we bought it at an antique store 35 years ago ..we love it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post!
Miss Bloomers
Hi Sheila, your table is beautiful, I'm a real fan of Duncan Phyfe. When the leaves are dropped they are just a perfect size! Your cloches with the moss and birds makes me feel like spring is just around the corner!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Debra
Shelia, you are going to laugh at this.
ReplyDeleteLast night I dreamed about those decopage plates you did awhile back. I was remembering how much I liked them and that I wanted to make some. I'm going to sift back through your posts and try to find that again. :)
Some of your posts really do stick with me. That sunporch of yours is to die for!!
Aren't drop leafs a wonderful piece of furnitre. You can put them so many places and they look just right. Great lamp, love all the detail on the base.
ReplyDeleteOh, I ADORE that table; whatever you paid the "nasty" man, it was worth it because he did a good job. That is a TRUE TREASURE! You have a touch that I admire. I can buy all the cloches and all the parts, but I don't have that touch. Good job, soon-to-be Grandma.
ReplyDeleteYou're not going to believe this, but I've been trying to figure out what I'm putting together for your cloche party. I was going to use my small tall ones (very similar to yours) and just bought moss rocks (very similar to yours) that I was going to put in them. It's an amazing coincidence to me. Don't worry, even if I continue with that concept they'll look different. Obviously, I'm loving what you did.

Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteEverything's just beautiful! I can see why you love these pretties so ... and now you've gone and made us love them too! What patience it must take to crochet a doily ... all those stitches (do you call them stitches when you crochet?) and such slender thread!
I'm glad you're blogging rather then crocheting these days, sharing your creativity and delightful sense of humor with us. Thank you for being ... well, you!
Bye for now,
Bill
Oh Shelia it looks so pretty! Love the precious birdies and moss balls. ~Lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm excited for you. These are so lovely. I'm especially taken with the third photo. And of course that lamp with the textured surface!
ReplyDeleteBrenda
I'm so impressed that you are showing your cloches with all of this wonderfulness under them. If I did that, I wouldn't have anything to show at Marty's party! Whatever that man charged you, your table turned out beautifully, so I'd say it was worth it. That platter is so pretty. Great vignette. laurie
ReplyDeleteSO pretty-I absolutely love the platter and lamp! Thanks so much for sharing
ReplyDeletexoxo Pattie
Sheila, I have been looking for a drop leaf table for about a year. Oh your's is perfect! It doesn't matter what you paid your little man, the finished product was worth it! I love it. And the beautiful display you have on your table, makes me want to find all the little birds I have around the house and put them together for a preview of spring! So beautiful and well ballanced and just PERFECT!
