Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Tabletop Tuesday hosted by our Most Wonderful Marty at
A Stroll Thru Life! Make sure you pop in to her blog to see the many decorated tabletops today.
I'm showing you my coffee table in my den today.

Just a simple little vignette.

I have a pair of the sweetest little birds perched upon some spare bark pieces. Aren't they the sweetest? :)

Next I've placed a large pottery bowl we purchased in Orvieto, Italy many years ago upon my hostess tray.

See the pretty hand painted details? I love this and my Mr. Precious picked it out!

Now look at the lid. Oh, I think it's just so pretty! Now this most precious piece of pottery is of the color that matches absolutely nothing! So in my tiny decorating mind I tell myself - since it matches absolutely nothing it has to go with absolutely anything I want it to go with. So here it sits in it's blazen gloryness!

Now since I'm the most creative one, I've made an arrangement of faux flowers that are just blooming their tiny hearts out for me. These pretty blooms never wilt, they never die and they never drop their petals! So, what do I say? I love my fauxs and my fauxs love me. Yes sirree bob!! :)

Even though it's a little dreary outside, I will have a burst of color on my coffee table in my den. Now I do want you to see how clever I am - the color of the little birds do match the colors in my pottery piece. See?
Now pop on over to Dear Marty's blog for lots of eye candy!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little

Hi Shelia
ReplyDeleteYour tabletop is so simple and elegant. I love the ceramic pot you got in Italy. I have a friend who takes tours to Orvieto several times each year. It sounds like the most wonderful little village.
Hugs, Rhondi
All those pretty things will be replaced with Fisher Price toys when the little one arrives for a visit which will be a good thing:) My house is decorated by a 3 yr old and on my table right now are several cars and trucks. Honestly I forget what I use to have on the tables in our den???
ReplyDeleteJoyce

Hi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteYou really ARE the creative one, aren't you? And the clever one as well ... when I got to "of the color that matches absolutely nothing!," I laughed out loud. We've all had something THAT color (usually a gift from a well-intentioned friend or relative).
Your fauxs love you ... and WE do to!
Warmest regards,
Bill
Have missed you, Shelia, and I love seeing what Mr. Precious bought you!

Your table setting looks so pretty. I love your blue Italian bowl.
ReplyDeleteI posted a song and thought of your sweet blog when I did.
Have a wonderful Sunday!
Blessings,
Marcia
Love that gorgeous Italian pottery - and didn't Precious do a fabulous job of choosing!
ReplyDeletexoxo...Kathy
That pottery is just about the most gorgeous thing I've ever seen! Love the little birds too. Since nothing in my house goes with anything else in my house, I agree with you - that pottery goes with anything and everything. I really do think something that beautiful makes a statement on its own and doesn't need to match anything. Can you tell I am smitten with that? laurie
ReplyDeleteVery pretty :)
ReplyDeleteI just wanted to let you know I have 2 more issues of Flea Market Style that I am giving away on my blog:
