Hello, Dear Ones! Welcome to Monday!! I'm joining our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for Met Monday and our Dear Sally at Smiling Sally for Blue Monday. Pop in to pay them a visit and it will just make your Monday. :)
It's Mantlefestation time! Now that Christmas is over (well long time over) I've tried to make some changes on my mantle. This was my Christmas mantle.
Here's some Blue for you, Dear Sally!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
I'll Be Watching You
(this song has nothing to do with my post, I just like this one!)
(this song has nothing to do with my post, I just like this one!)
Every breath you take
And every move you make
Every bond you break
Every step you take
Ill be watching you
Every single day
And every word you say
Every game you play
Every night you stay
Ill be watching you
Oh, cant you see
You belong to me
Now my poor heart aches
With every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
Ill be watching you
Since youve gone, Ive been lost without a trace
I dream at night, I can only see your face
I look around but its you I cant replace
I feel so cold and I long for your embrace
I keep crying baby, baby please
Oh, cant you see
You belong to me
Now my poor heart aches
Every step you take
Every move you make
Every vow you break
Every smile you fake
Every claim you stake
Ill be watching you
Every move you make
Every step you take
Ill be watching you
Ill be watching you
Every breath you take
Every move you make

WOW!! I'm the first to comment...Let me pack my bags and head to Vegas ha ha!! Oh Pickle I love your fireplace and what you did with it...the urns are so pretty...I think thats a pinecone from the looks of it but who knows its great what ever it is...How are you enjoying retirment...Like I say half as much money twice as much husband ha ha!! Love ya girl...Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteVery pretty...love the st. dogs and the urn's so pretty! My mother in law had an old clock like that, it got stolen right out of her home! I'm having a give a way...:D
ReplyDeleteYes, you had better watch me, as I love the Staffordshire dogs. And, I don't own any --- so if yours are missing, you had better come to Colorado to find them! I also enjoy seeing your mantle clock - That was one thing I would have liked to have had out of my grandmother's house; but, alas, my uncle took it. Oh well, I really inherited more than my share. Yes, that little red pillow on my bed is our favorite fabric. Have a good week. Sally
ReplyDeleteVery pretty Sheila! You did a great job with those urns and the doggies are too cute! It's a happy place! Cindy
ReplyDeleteeverything looks great! love those urns!
ReplyDeleteYou have some beautiful things and the Staffordshire dogs? Wow!
ReplyDeleteShelia, I love what you did to the mantel. Everything is just charming and warm and just right. Way to go, girl! Linda
ReplyDeleteLove your new mantle display.. Your dogs are magnificent and I adore that clock.. As always your home is my inspiration..
ReplyDeleteI might be tempted to keep the holiday decor up year round - I love the "dripping" ornaments! The urns are lovely, pairing them with the dogs is nice. I had an artichoke(?) like that in our last home. I think DD2 took it away... I may need to look that up!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by AtticMag and for leaving your sweet comment. Be sure to come back on Tuesday and Wednesday for more!
Allison
MANTLEICIOUS!!!
ReplyDeleteSheila-I am so happy to see this! I am just not happy with my mantel right now and am looking for ideas--love your urns and topiaries. I found some Staffordshire dogs last week but just can't seem to make up my mind. Thanks for your unknowing help :) Love it!

Your mantle looks very nice, but what has my jaw dropped in the fireplace screen. I have never seen on with leaded glass, It is beautiful.

Those urns are fantastic Shelia. I love decorative objects with lots of color. The cricket is so whimsical. It's a good thing he's "dead" because he's big! But then again, you are in Texas if I remember right.
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Dawn
Your mantel is very pretty ! And I think that may be an artichoke.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful mantelpiece. Are the urns Portugese, I have a dish I bought there and it is very similar?Jackie in UK.

Sheila I love it! And oh my feaking God what a beauty that xmas mantle was! Over the top it was...way over! Love the way you have it now...so cute. The cricket is guarding that fireplace very nicely. I wouldn't dare go near it! My mom always said a cricket was good luck...not sure why?? Thanks for another peak into your gorgeous home and another chance to see your impeccable decor! You are the best my friend.~.

Beautiful song
and beautiful your Blue Monday post!
Blessings and love for you and your family Shelia!
Good morning Sheila, time on my computer this morning is lovely. Your mantle at Christmas was stunning. Aren't you glad it was!!! I do love your new mantel look. I can see you are into balance. Me too. Your urns are beautiful and of course the dogs are treasures. I too have a mantel clock but I don't put it there. There is such a reflection from the tall wall of windows you can't read the time. Love the cricket and all of your lovely decor. You do have the touch Sheila.
ReplyDeleteHave a happy 'Blue Mom.' A contradictory of terms huh??? LOL.
Hugs xoxo, Jeanne
PS: I do love your song. I sing it all the time...Jeanne, Again
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Shelia!:-)
ReplyDeleteYour new mantel dress looks beautiful....tell me..is your mirror just propped up against the brick or is it hung? I am thinking of propping a mirror over my mantel in the dining room...but unsure yet. The mirror is so heavy, I hate to work getting it there and then find it has to be propped TOO much or it will fall..then I have to struggle to get it down again. O...I better wait until Mr. Sweet can do it. He is a much stronger person than tiny lil' o me !!:)Telling him that gets me a whole lot of things done around here!! tee hee...
ReplyDeleteLove those little S. dogs on either side of the clock..So pretty.
hugs, bj
I always like how you fix things up, but I especially like those urns. (You KNEW I would!) Happy Blue Monday.
ReplyDeleteLovely house and lovely collection.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful room and mantel! You did a great job on the topiaries.
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia
ReplyDeletePretty mantle. Its great to have one so that you can change up your moods and go according to seasons and it changes up everything. Very pretty. I love the dogs and I've seen those 2 before.
I hope you are having a great day!
Judi
Love your topiaries, Sheila! The containers you used for them are just beautiful!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila
ReplyDeleteYour mantle is looking great. I love your topiary urns and the lovely little star fish.
It's still snowing in England. Can you believe that? We have not decided what to do in the summer yet. At this moment in time anywhere that's not snowing would do!

Yes, I do love the (?). Love them very much. In fact, I have two of the (?) on my hearth. We found them at the Biltmore gift shop in Ashville, NC 15 years ago. And I thought they were pineapples or pinecones until the cashier informed me that they were artichokes. Whatev. I do love the (?)
ReplyDeleteYour mantel looks wonderful and I am j-e-a-l-o-u-s that you live on the coast and have a star fish.
