My Christmas Mantle

Hello, Dear Ones! I'm decorating rather slowly around here but I've gotten my mantle done and wanted to show it to you.

I found these sweet little trees last year at Hobby Lobby and had to have them but didn't buy them immediately! Each time I went in I thought, "I don't want to pay that!" and walked away rather sadly. But I went the next week and these darling little trees were on sale for a great price. So what did I do? I swooped them up and brought them home. Oh, but I did pay for them first! :) Just in case you thought I was bad! No no Nannette! Not me! :)

I popped my little trees upon some crystal candlesticks to make them a bit higher and tied red bows around the candlesticks.

Don't you think these little trees look like Marzipan icing?

Then a little green sparkly reindeer hopped up here to be by the trees. He was lost in the garland and I couldn't see him. So I popped him upon an empty ribbon spool. Now I can see him - but poor thing - he can't see me! He has no eyes! But he can surely sparkle!

Then I've placed two icy green candles upon tall green candlesticks on each end of my mantle.

The the fun part...ribbon ribbon ribbon!! I love this stuff. Oh, did I say - wired ribbon!? :)

Then I hung a few soft green colored Christmas ornies and added a little red beaded garland.

Then I swagged! Don't you just love to swag? :)

You can tell I was playing with Christmas frames for my photos! Love these candy cane ones.

This is my Christmas mantle all sparkly and singing Christmas carols. Okay, Dear Ones, I took this picture only because I love you all. I actually got down on the floor! Yep, I got down there and laid down and snapped. Am I crazy! Yes, I think I am! But I sure have a lot of fun.

Hope you like my Christmas mantle.

Be a bunch of Christmas sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

We Need a Little Christmas

Haul out the holly,
Put up the tree before
My spirit falls again
Fill up the stocking,
I may be rushing things,
But deck the halls again now.

For we need a little Christmas,
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet,
Yes, we need a little Christmas,
Right this very minute,
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry.

So climb down the chimney,
Turn on the brightest string
Of lights I've ever seen,
Slice up the fruitcake,
It's time we hung some tinsel
On that evergreen bough.

For we need a little music,
Need a little laughter,
Need a little singing,
Ringing through the rafter,
And a little snappy
Happy ever after,
Need a little Christmas now.

For I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder,
Grown a little sadder,
Grown a little older,
And I need a little angel
Sitting on my shoulder,
Need a little Christmas now.
~sung by my mantle

  5. I love those trees! I use a lot of light greens in my Christmas decor too. Your mantle is fabulous and the ribbon gives it so much movement and drama. Wired ribbon is one of best inventions ever as far as I'm concerned!

  7. It's a beautiful and festive mantle Shelia. I can tell you don't have a kitten (like Magic) with those lovely trees balanced on the crystal candle holders! That's a great way to give them height. I love that last photo that you snapped from the floor because I can see your pretty fire screen - which appears to be leaded glass - how very pretty & sparkly for Christmas! I surely am enjoying all your pretties.

  8. Oh Sheila, that mantle is so beautiful. Love the trees on the candlesticks. I'm so jealous, I don't have a mantle and I don't live near a Hobby Lobby. sniff sniff.

  9. Shelia, your mantle is so pretty. I love the trees and the sparkly little reindeer. It all looks so pretty up against that brick. Oh, and I love your leaded glass fireplace screen - it's gorgeous!

I'm going to scan back and find pictures of your dining room. I remember that it's green and I really liked it. We want to redo our dining room and can't decide between a green or another shade of creamy yellow. My husband is tired of my yellows...he's voting for green. I'm stuck in a state of complete indecision. :) It's a fun process though.
