Deck the Halls

Hello, Dear Ones! I truly hope you all had the most wonderful Thanksgiving! We sure did at our house. We ate and ate and then ate a little more! :) But we were ever so thankful!

I know you all are getting out your decorations for Christmas to make your home look so pretty and festive. Well, I have started two trees up and Mr. Precious has put some tiny lights outside. But that's all I've been able to do.

I've got a couple of really busy days coming up and won't be able to start on my serious Christmas decorating until the end of the week so I thought I would show you a couple of pictures from my church. Last Sunday afternoon a group of us met and decked the halls! We put up the tree and I think it's so pretty!

This is a large Nativity of mine that I always bring to church each year. I like to share! :) We all enjoy it until our Christmas Eve service then I take it home and put it under our tree. Can you see it is sitting upon the piano? This is where I sit each Sunday and play my note songs for church and to God. I love to play the piano and I feel this is my gift each week to give back to God for all He does for me.

Well, I'll be back in a few days and maybe then I can show you some Christmas around my house.

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

O Come, O Come, Emmanuel

O come, O come, Emmanuel
And ransom captive Israel
That mourns in lonely exile here
Until the Son of God appear
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free
Thine own from Satan's tyranny
From depths of Hell Thy people save
And give them victory o'er the grave
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer
Our spirits by Thine advent here
Disperse the gloomy clouds of night
And death's dark shadows put to flight.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, Thou Key of David, come,
And open wide our heavenly home;
Make safe the way that leads on high,
And close the path to misery.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

O come, O come, Thou Lord of might,
Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height,
In ancient times did'st give the Law,
In cloud, and majesty and awe.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel
Shall come to thee, O Israel.

  1. Sooooo gorgeous Shelia! It is so elegant and sparkly. Love it!

  2. Shelia,
What a wonderful gift you share. It takes both time and talent, too. I love what you share with all of us.

You nativity is just lovely. How sweet of you to take it to your church so that all can enjoy it.

    Have a wonderful week.

  3. Hi Shelia! I love your tree! Your Nativity is so special. And so are you to share it with your church, as well as your wonderful gift of music! Happy week!...hugs...Debbie

  4. Hi sheila, the tree is gorgeous. Your Nativity is so special. Your church is very lucky that you share it with them. I hope you get to feeling better soon. Shingles aren't easy to get over. Mr. P had a bout with them about 8 years ago and was quite miserable with them.. I'll be saying extra prayers for you darling..
    hugs ~lynne~

  5. Lovely post, Sheila. Fabulous tree and beautiful Nativity scene...the christmas Carol is a favourite of mine.
Have a blessed week, my friend.

  6. What a full and pretty tree, Shelia. You are a such a giving person to share your nativity with your fellow church members.
It takes so much time to decorate. I finally got one of my trees done today. One down, 5 to go!

  7. The church tree is lovely..but I'm all atwitter waiting to you what you do this year! This is my first year blogging...and I am like a kid in a candy store..I cannot WAIT to see all the visual treats!!! :) I KNOW yours is going to make burst into song with "OH CHRISTMAS TREE!" :):)

  8. That is a precious Nativity and it's so nice to see the piano you play each Sunday. Hope you are feeling better and that you have an enjoyable week.

  9. Hi Sheila,
The church tree looks gorgeous and I am so loving your nativity! Have a great week my friend, sounds like your very busy! Hugs, Cindy

  10. Oh I so remember the days of decorating the church! The tree is lovely. I should take a pic of ours. And the nativity is beautiful. At one of our churches we had a huge hand carved nativity that sat on the communion table. It was gorgeous!

  11. Hope you are well, dear Shelia.
Thank you for your respond. I was little bit scare, so I asked you.
I didn't take madicine from doc's prescription, only what I wrote you. Doctor ordered me ... morphine.
Now, I feel completaly well. Thanks God.

    Your Nativity is very beautiful!
And I love this beautiful song!
    Thanks for sharing
and have a blessed week ahead!

  12. In my opinion, there is nothing quite so beautiful as a church decorated for Christmas.

  13. Thank you for sharing you church decorations! I can just see you sitting there at the piano every Sunday! I was the worship committee chairman and headed up the altar guild at our church years ago! Yesterday was the first day of Advent and we had our tree up but not decorated! I plan on doing a post on our Chrismon tree! God Bless! Lauralu :)

  14. Ooh, the church's tree is just beautiful! Can't wait to see what you do in your house!

    Justine :o )

  15. Thanks for sharing those lovely decorations, and how nice of you to share with your Church! You have such a generous spirit.
And thank you for leaving us with my favorite Advent song!
I used the first verse as a quote on my prayer blog.

    Nice post!
    All the best,

  16. So nice that you share with the decorating at your church.

  17. It looks so beautiful and how sweet that you share your nativity with the church. I would love to hear you play your "note songs" someday.♥

  18. Good morning dear Shelia. Your nativity set is so pretty. It's wonderful how you share with your church. I also think it's wonderful how you share the gift of music God gave you with others. You are a special lady indeed.

  19. Dearest Shelia,
Your Thanksgiving Table was soooo pretty. Just lovely! Hope you're feeling so much better.

    The Christmas tree is beautiful!
May you have the most wonderful time this December.

    God bless you real good,
    d from homehaven

  20. That's a beautiful nativity set. I remember last year how you struggled with your floor project and being unable to decorate. So, I just know you will have a double good time this year. Take care, Sally

  21. I wondered where you have been! I love the tree and the nativity, Shelia! And I hope your busy days are quickly behind you so that you can enjoy your holidays and get your own nest just the way you like.

I really did love seeing where you play your notesongs to the Lord. He is SO good! :-)

  22. I like that the wise men are back from (and still traveling to) the manger. I'm sure everyone appreciates your gifts of beauty and talent.

  23. I love what you shared today, especially about sharing your notesongs for church. I play the piano, too, and I know what you're talking about. There's something special to give back from the talent you've been given. And I loved your Nativity. I have a really busy week, followed by an even busier weekend, so I'm decorating here a little - there a little. It will get done but I'm doing a much simpler decor this year. The sights and sounds of Christmas always touch my heart - can't wait to see more of yours.

P.S. - I shared this wonderful, old song on my blog yesterday.

  24. Hi Sheila
Your tree looks gorgeous and your little nativity figures so precious. Good luck with the rest of your decorating this week. We will not be decorating for another two weeks but it's starting to feel Christmassy now.

  25. It's beautiful Shelia!

We have a pretty good start here, but it seems the flu has come to visit. I even had the shot, last month!! It may just be a cold, but it sure has put a damper on the decorating. I sort of ran out of steam.

Looking forward to seeing your beautiful home all done up.

    Feel better soon!

  26. Shelia~ How sweet of you to share your lovely nativity with your church friends. Did you trim that pretty tree too?
I had a holiday Bazaar on Saturday, so that kept me from trimming my tree. I'm hopin' we can get to decorating this weekend.
My son and DIL stayed in Seattle for Thanksgiving. This was the first year they cooked dinner for her family.
We enjoyed the tryptophan playoffs with my youngest son (who lives up the street in our condo).
You know I'll be back to see your house and table all dolled up.

    Sweet Holiday Wishes,

  27. The tree looks wonderful and I love the nativity. I've become a bit of a nativity collector. I just picked up another old one today at a local vintage store. I had to have my mammogram, so this was my reward :-) I love the song too. I just wanted to sing along as I was reading the words.

  28. Oops, I misspelled my own name. It's Marcia :-)

  29. I wish I could hear you play!!

What beautiousness (is that a word ~ you betcha it is!!) ~ I love your decorating.

Since I hurt my hand and wrist 2 weeks ago, I don't know how much decorating or anything, I'll get done around here.

    ~Warm Regards,

  30. Your tree is pretty and the nativity is so beautiful.

Hope your week is off to a great start.

  31. We have been busy decorating, and I just have to finish the tree.

I can't wait to see all of your Christmas decor.

  32. Your tree is beautiful and I LOVE nativity sets too..have fun with the decorating! Come say hi :D

  33. Hi Shelia
I know it is a busy time. I hope you are feeling better too.
