My Last Travel Photos! :)

I really promise!

Hello, Dear Ones! As I told you yesterday, one more day of photos of my trip and that's all. Well, until I go somewhere else which is coming up in the near future! :)

We rented a car and took a little day trip down or up to Palm Beach to see The Breakers Resort. Oh, let me tell you, Dear Ones, this was a most gorgeous place!

I wanted to see this most beautiful property and Mr. Precious took me for a little tour! This most gorgeous five star hotel/resort was built in 1896 and was fashioned after The Villa Medici in Rome, Italy! Oh, so very lovely! I just crammed so many photos here for you. Look at all the various light sources ~ standing and hanging! I love light fixtures! :) Can you love? I won't even go there! ;) See the center photo? Well, we had to have our noon nourishment and I feasted on the most delicious crab cakes I've ever put into my tiny mouth! Yumminess to the max! Well, I may never get to stay here, but I did eat here! That's a good thing!

Then we came back to Boca Raton, Florida, and poked around The Boca Raton Resort. This most lovely place was built in 1926. Now we have stayed here a number of times, but it's been about eight years or so since we've been here! It's changed inside! I was sad. Everything was whitewashed ~ pretty ~ but I think it took some of the old elegant charm away! :( Did you know boca raton in Spanish means 'rat's mouth'? Yep, or to be more correct ~ the mouth of the rat! :) That's a hoot, don't you think! See the bottom left picture ~ that's me snapping again for you! When I see a great bathroom I just can't help myself! Now I look a little pregnant in this picture, but Dear Ones, be assured ~ I'M NOT! :) This was a wonderful bathroom!

Okay, now this mosaic is for my sweet southern blogging friends! Just for you little dahlings. I'd never heard of Publix until I started blogging and so many of you mention it and buy the most beautiful foods and flowers there. Well, we saw one and I screamed for Mr. Precious to stop! Stop! Stop! He said, "What for?" I told him I had to go inside the Publix for my southern blogging friends and snap. Well, he understands me. I went inside and took some pictures! We did buy some bottled water and it was very good tasting southern water!!

Thank you all, Dear Ones, for coming along with me on my little travels! Hope you're all not as hot as I am this summer! I'm staying inside with the AC!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

I'll Be Seeing You
(this song always makes me cry, but I still love it)

I'll be seeing you
In all the old familiar places
That this heart of mine embraces
All day through.

In that small cafe;
The park across the way;
The children's carousel;
The chestnut trees;
The wishin' well.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

I'll be seeing you
In every lovely summer's day;
In every thing that's light and gay.
I'll always think of you that way.

I'll find you
In the morning sun
And when the night is new.
I'll be looking at the moon,
But I'll be seeing you.

    I had never heard of Publix, either. Guess they don't have them in Texas.
    Thanks, dear one, for taking us along on your lovely trip! We are planning a vacation soon but nothing fancy like this...more the "camping out in the mountains" type fun...

  9. Good Morning Sweet One!!! Loved your photos and description of all the gorgeous places you went to in Miami... Even the PUBLIX! That was so cute and you know being from Florida I have been in them many times... As a matter of fact in our area they bought out all the Albertson's but one. So they are about on every corner... LOL
    Have the sweetest day my friend!

  11. More lucisousness! I've, too, wondered about Publix - thanks for the tour. How could you keep from buying one of those cakes and eating the whole thing. I guess you were full of crab cakes, weren't you? Sally

  13. Shelia, you have taken me on a mini-vacation in my mind! Your photos and your mosaics are beautiful. And we can tell what is most important to ya by the large photo in the middle- FOOD! LOL It would definitely be the center of attention for me. *grin*

    We don't have Publix, either. Maybe one day Mr. Sullivan and I will find one. We shop Kroger locally and then make a trip to Cincinnati for a specialty store shopping venture at Jungle Jim's. I find all my ethnic specialty foods there. It's huge- check it out online. hugs, Sue

  21. Publix is a Florida store; its headquarters is in Lakeland, FL. I've shopped there for over 45 years. I like it because it's clean and the prices are reasonable.

    Now, the Breakers ... THAT's the ultimate of Grand Florida living.

  23. Oh Shelia, you are such a hoot! I felt right at home with your Publix photos. I have 2 Publix markets just minutes from me and I have shopped there every week f-o-r-e-v-e-r. The original store was so busy, they put another store right across the street from the first one!

    I've lived in FL almost my entire life and I've never been to either Palm Beach or Boca Raton. I enjoyed your photos of both. (And oh lordy, those crab cakes look devine! Mmmmmm! )

  25. The hotels are beautiful and you took excellent pictures and created real pretty mosaics, Shelia. I miss you! My youngest daughter went to Atlantic Univ. in Boca Raton her first year in College but got homesick so moved to UF in Tampa the following year. I just came back from Tampa last weekend and was there for 2 weeks. Catch you again soon!....Christine

  26. Thanks so much for shareing all the lovely photos from your vacation. When you get to see photos of the restrooms you really feel like you've been there!

    The sunflower photos were from a couple of years ago. My MIL has a lot of birds in her yard, from wild peacocks to doves to ducks. She used most of the flower heads to give them a treat. They loved pecking those seeds out. Of course we kept some for ourselves and the kids loved picking out the seeds too!
