A Little Peak at My Trip

Hello Dear Ones! I'm home for a few days and wanted to share with you a little bit of my trips.
We went here...

Yep, good ole Reno, Nevada. It was very hot but did cool down a bit in the evenings.

We stayed here at Harrah's. Everything was so laid back, not many folks and really was enjoyable.

I feel so blessed to stay in such pretty rooms and wanted to show you. I'm beginning to love seeing how the hotels place the pillows on the bed. This was a very comfortable room. I rested my tiny head pretty well each night.

Again, I hope I'm not boring you. I would love to just post my pictures...but if you know me ~ I have to talk! :)

Now I am very much a girly girl and just don't do "guy" stuff. But Mr. Precious is so sweet and he really wanted to go see this National Automobile Museum so I bit the bullet and went with him. Guess what? I loved this place. It was truly awesome. They had each area set up in time periods for the various cars. They were so beautifully restored ~ I was really having a ball!

Look at this ~ not everything was about guy stuff. Scattered throughout were clothes, hats, even this darling tea set on a crocheted doily. Loved it. There was a lady, named Ethel who drove her car across the country from New York to Sacramento, California in 1912, I think I remember the facts correctly. Now she was definitely a pioneer, wasn't she?

Oh, Dear Ones! Movie cars! I was loving this. Here is John Travolta's car used in the movie "Grease". Cool, huh? And then Elvis' car used in the movie "Easy Come, Easy Go". There were more, but these were my favs.

I just had to share some food with you! We ate with some friends at an Italian Restaurant called La Famiglia and it was divine! Yummyness!

We had the opportunity to see a ballgame at the new Aces Stadium. The Reno Aces were playing the Round Rock, Texas team. Of course we were very polite about it, but we were cheering for Round Rock! :) The game started at 7pm and at 10pm it was still going on. We were tired and walked on back to our tiny room not knowing who won. I know, I know, we're sillies, but Round Rock was ahead when we left. I guess I could have gone online and found out who won...but we're not big sports fans. It was the "thrill" of being at a game that mattered to me! ;)

We rented a car and took at day trip up to Lake Tahoe. Beautiful drive and the lake was so blue. Now I must tell you a little story and you know how much I love to tell you little stories. Mr. Precious had rented this car you see and all was fine until we stopped! He couldn't turn the car off! The ignition was just a push and go thingy. Well, he pushed every button he could and the car wouldn't turn off! He was getting upset and I was laughing. Well, I thought it was funny. ;) So I told Mr. Precious maybe if he pushed in the button and held it down it just might work. Guess what? It did! The car turned off! I'm so wonderful, don't you think? I'm not really sure Mr. Precious thought I was so wonderful at the moment. :)

I couldn't get this close to the beautiful blue water and not pop my tiny feet into it. Brrrr...it was very cold. See what I will do for all my sweeties in The Land of Blog? :) You know I'm teasing.

Some of the lovely flowers I snapped.

Hope you've enjoyed tripping with me! I have missed you all and have come to and visit you when I could. I want you all to know how much I appreciate you coming by and leaving comments! I love Blogland!

Be a bunch of Sweeties,
Shelia ;)

Cloudy

Cloudy The sky is gray and white and cloudy, Sometimes I think it's hanging down on me. And it's a hitchhike a hundred miles. I'm a rag-a-muffin child. Pointed finger-painted smile. I left my shadow waiting down the road for me a while. Cloudy My thoughts are scattered and they're cloudy, They have no borders, no boundaries. They echo and they swell From Tolstoy to Tinker Bell. Down from Berkeley to Carmel. Got some pictures in my pocket and a lot of time to kill. Hey sunshine I haven't seen you in a long time. Why don't you show your face and bend my mind? These clouds stick to the sky Like floating questions, why? And they linger there to die. They don't know where they are going, and, my friend, neither do I. Cloudy, Cloudy.
