Met / Blue Monday and A Gift For Me and A Gift For Thee

Hello, Dear Ones! First of all, I want to thank you all for the sweet words and congratulations on my one year anniversary in Blogland! My little Chloe Dawn, the little stinker, getting up so early to type a post for me and she couldn't wait to read all the posts! Yes, she can read, work on the puter and she did get some more cheese! She loves cheese!

I just want you to know how much I love you all and appreciate you coming to my tiny blog and making me feel so happy each day! Now tradition in Blogland is to give a gift to show your appreciation on all these anniversaries! Well, Dear Ones, I'm running behind! Can you believe it!? Me!? ;) I'm almost finished with my special gift to pass on to one of you, but not quite! So give me a few more days and I'll be posting about my giveaway. I promise, you'll like it! :)

*********************************

Now on to my Met and Blue Monday posts...first I'll start with my Met Monday hosted by our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Be sure to go and visit her and see so many wonderful transformations today! Then pop on in to see our Most Smiling Sally at Smiling Sally
to be blessed with the most Blueness you would ever want to see!

I'm working on my guest bedroom and last week I showed you the little sewing rocking chair I recovered. This week I'm going to show you new curtains I've made.

This is what I had up on the two windows in the bedroom...a ruffly double valance made by me many moons ago!

Here's a closeup of the two fabrics. Sweet, but I wanted and needed a change!

Here's my new ones. I've had the toile like green and white panels for about three or four years with the intent of hanging them in the guest bedroom but hadn't gotten around to it yet! Well, I pulled them out of the package and held them up to see how long they were and they were too short! Well, Dear Ones, I'm too short! I had to climb up my little wooden ladder to do this! ;)

My solution? Add a piece of fabric to the top like I've seen so many of you do! See how you inspire me? The colors are off in this picture, but they really do match much more than it looks like here. Now in my tiny head I thought I could whip this up in a couple of hours! It never does work out that way, does it? By the time I had measured the solid green fabric and cut it, hemmed the sides and the tops and then attached it to the panels, pressed all the seams and hems, attached the trim (hot glue!), clipped on the rings, hung the panels, measured and pinned up the hems, took the curtains back down and finally sewed the hems and pressed them, and hung the curtains up again- it took me two days! I had so many interruptions - phone calls, Mr. Precious, the cable guy and I don't mean Jim Carey! I just couldn't get as much done as I wanted to.

But here they are - finished. I know the little chair's colors are so not matchy matchy, but I just love the little bright spot of color the little rocker adds to the corner with my new curtains! Soon I'll be able to show you the rest of the room. Hope you've enjoyed seeing my new curtains! And Most Sewing Ones, don't hate me for hot glueing my trim on! Really it's so much easier than sewing. I always break a couple of needles trying to sew through all the thicknesses! My guests will never know, so please don't tell them. Guess what? I only burned my tiny finger one time! :)

**************************

Now if you're wondering in my post title about the gift for me - I won Rebecca's giveaway at
A Gathering Place! I won this most wonderful beautiful little sachet pillow!

Look at this precious little card!
And the sweetest note from Rebecca!
A little bag wrapped in the most gorgeous pink tulle bow with a little pink rose in the center! I'll have to do something with this!

Isn't this the sweetest?

Look what was inside! Isn't this the prettiest little sachet pillow you've ever seen? Oh, and Dear Ones, you must smell it - sniff sniff - heavenly! See the lovely crocheted ruffly trim hanging down?

Look a little closer...
Look really close! See the sweet little silver heart? See the tiny little bird almost hiding? Oh, I love this! Look at the Blueness of ribbon and flower, Most Smiling Sally!

Even the back of the pillow is decorated! It's so pretty! Rebecca even has her own little tag on here - see it? I am so thrilled I won your giveaway, Rebecca. If you're not familiar with this Most Sweet One, please go pay her a visit at her blog! You'll love her too!

Well, that's about it for today. Stay tuned and soon I'll be back with my one year anniversary gift for one of you lovelies!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

If My Pillow Could Talk To You

If my pillow could talk
If my pillow could talk

If my pillow could talk
It would tell you 'bout
My sleepless nights
(My sleepless nights)

Tell you 'bout the rivers I cried
Ever since you said goodbye
(Since you said goodbye)

If we just could have talked it over
Before you ever put me down
(Oh, you put me down)
You know I love you much too much
To think about you running around

If my pillow could talk to you
(Yeah, yeah)
Know how much I miss your kiss
(Yeah, yeah)

It would tell you how much
I toss and I turn
Waiting for you, darling, to return

Yes, my pillow could tell you too
Not one word they said was true
If my pillow could talk to you
(Could talk to you)

If my pillow could talk to you
(Yeah, yeah)
Know how much I miss your kiss
(Yeah, yeah)

It would tell you how much
I toss and I turn
Waiting for you, darling, to return

Yes, my pillow could tell you too
Not one word they said was true
If my pillow could talk to you
(Could talk to you)

If my pillow could talk to you
(Could talk to you)
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah

If my pillow could talk to you
(Could talk to you)

Your drapes are beautiful! Love the fabric. And the little sachet gift is precious!

Lucky you to find the Noritake Sweet Swirl Glasses. I don't know if they are still open stock or not. I was married 16 1/2 years ago, and mine were part of my wedding everyday china. The glasses I have are tea or water glasses. I didn't even "request" the wine glasses, which is what yours sound like. My momma would have had a fit! LOL! I bet the pink is beautiful! Great find! :)
