Many of you may have already seen my white tablescape, but I've been so busy this week I'm using it for Tablescape Thursday too!

Hello Dear Ones and welcome to another party! This party is hosted by our Darling Kathleen at
Cuisine Kathleen and it's called "Let There Be White"! It's all about white dishes! Well, if you know me, you know I'm going to this party! So make sure you pop over to Kathleen's and visit all the other participants today!
Like many others of you, I'm combining this great party with Tablescape Thursday. So also pop over to visit our Dear Dish Diva Susan at
Between Naps on the Porch.

Now on with the party...

I've put together a totally white
tablescape. Do you know what this reminds me of? Summer, sunshine, brides, fluffy clouds, smiles...well needless to say, I've had fun!

First I clothed my dining room table in a very olden white tablecloth with pretty cut work and embroidery in white thread. I've even brought out my
white Battenburg napkins to use.

Using these all white patterns just makes me happy! :) See? I'm smiling! ;)

Here is my place setting...I've used chargers from
Marshalls! Love that place! You know I do! Then I'm using my olden J & G
Meakin dinnerware with the appropriate name "Classic White"!

My Oneida silver plate ~ given to me for Christmas a few years ago from my Mr. Precious!

Now I didn't have any solid white butter plates and knew this table setting just had to have some, so I ad-libbed! Do you know what this is I'm using for a tiny butter plate? Why it's a glass coaster and I think it works just fine. I only have four like this so I used two more glass coasters in a different style! Works for me! Am I clever or what? You know I'm just kidding! :) Some of you have mentioned in the past how you liked this little butter knife. I also have tiny forks in this same style. I'm sorry I can't give you any info about them ~ nothing is written on the backs! But aren't they just the cutest little things?

See...here is one of the little forks. Some of you said this little fork was a dessert fork and others said an
hor'derve fork. Doesn't matter to me! I'll just poke it on the table and have fun with it! :)

I'm using crystal stemware and wine glasses I've had for many years!

My little salt cellars are rather new to me and I am so enjoying using them. Aren't they the sweetest little things with the teenisiest little spoons!?

Having an all white
tablescape has allowed me to use a few of my crystal pieces scattered all around. Here is a sweet pineapple covered dish! Since a pineapple is a symbol for hospitality I thought it's appropriate place was on the table, don't you think?

I
schooched back some things so you could see my white centerpiece! I have a very olden milk glass bowl and filled it with white roses. The bowl is flanked by candle holders.

Now my white roses are
faux and if you know me, you know what I'm about to say and I always think it's worth repeating...I love my
fauxs and my
fauxs love me! :)

...for effect. ;)
Dripless candles in olden Candlewick holders passed on to me from my Aunt Nay.

These candle holders are sitting on each side of my centerpiece. Love the little ball candles! So do my fish jugs! :)

This is a rather dark photo, but it's oh so pretty and I put a tiny candle inside and look how the flame flickers through the cut glass. I have two of these.

A closeup...smile cutie! :)

More little silver pieces. Is this a Mint Julep cup? I have a couple of these.

Oh, now this is a wonderful piece. I have this because of our Dear Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. She has one, I saw it, coveted it and went out and found this one! I was thrilled. I don't have the scoop so I have to improvise and use the cute little spoon.

White, glass, crystal and silver...how romantic...how lovely...how fun! Thank you Dear Kathleen for inviting me to your party!

Hope you've enjoyed my contribution to Let There Be White!
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
A White Sport Coat
A white sport coat and a pink carnation
I'm all dressed up for the dance.
A white sport coat and a pink carnation,
I'm all alone in romance.
Once you told me long ago, to the prom with me
you'd go, now you've changed your mind,
it seems someone else will hold my dreams.
A white sport coat and a pink carnation,
I'm in a blue, blue mood.
~sung by Marty Robbins

Hello dear Sheila, we are home and I am up to my eyeballs in laundry. I am taking a break and trying to catch up with my blogging friends. Thank you so much for your faithful visits while we have been running the western roads (mountains). We did have a wonderful time.
ReplyDeleteYour white table setting is beautiful. I do love the butter knives and forks. I am in love with odd pieces of flatware and have a few terrific pieces too. I find them in thrift stores etc. I do not have any white dinnerware but my sister does. a gift from our parents when she was married. She never uses them but can't part with them. I really haven't done much with tablescapes on my blog but I adore setting a beautiful table and I always do for any little reason. I better get busy and start participating. Your glass coasters made perfect dishes for your table. Thinking out of the box is fun. You are 'so clever' and I mean that. I love your blog so much.
Time for another load of laundry! sigh.
Hugs...Jeanne
PS: We visited a castle and I took a photo in the bathroom mirror but I haven't downloaded it yet. I have realized I am not very good at it. The flash is always in my face. Lol!
Sheila, I love your header and it has probably been up there ever so long. Life is a song and I love the music in my life.

Oh sweetie, maybe the reason people are mean to heather is because she is such a hypocrite - witness her wedding quote, she acts as though she wasn't married before and didn't meet the guy in a chat room. really gods way, huh?

Shelia, I love every single piece. I have been a lover of whites forever. In fact, Jeanne always teases me about it.
ReplyDeleteI just know you are my sister. I wish we lived next door to each other. We could play house every single day.
Good morning Sheila, Beverly is right, I have always teased her about all the white in her home. However, she must have listened because now she is quite the color person. Her home is much more colorful now. I am proud of her for listening to me.Big laugh, she doesn't listen to me and me being the elder she should listen to me. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to see your gorgeous white tablescape again. My post today has several repeat photos and I say we should go for it. We are busy gals...
Have a wonderful day.

ReplyDeletem ^..^
So gorgeous all in white! I love the napkins and the dishes - so beautiful. really wonderful!!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is absolutely beautiful! The white dinnerware and white battenburg linens together are so classic! Love the silver and the centerpiece as well:)
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia, White-on-white-on-white-on white is NOT the easiest thing to pull off -- and even more challenging to photograph. Yours is magnificent!
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure your butter spreaders are "Coronation" by Oneida, sliverplated and introduced in 1936. Check it out on replacements.com: http://replacements.com/webquote/OHSCOR.htm#
You'll find them about 35-40 lines from the top.
They're selling them for $11.99 each.
Your crystal double candlesticks (with the ball candles) look like Baroque by Fostoria, but the base seems a little different -- not sure. I have one from an Estate sale ($6.00), and I'd love to find another onsie to make it a pair (but I still like it solo -- the glass is so clear and sparkly).
Again, kudos for a spectacular "scape!"
Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Hope to see you at Affordable Accoutrements again very soon.
Cheers!
Bill
