Tablescape Thursday with Stella

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to Tablescape Thursday hosted by our Most Wonderful Dishaholic Diva Susan at Between Naps on the Porch! After viewing my post today, please go see her and you'll be amazed at all of the dishaholics in Blogland and how they can set gorgeous tables!

Well, if you follow my blog you know I have a little guest ~ Stella! She has had so many adventures and now she says she wants to stay at home and be domestic! Praise God!

She saw me looking at my dishes and trying to decide what kind of tablescape I would have today. She asked if she could try tablescaping and I told her to go to town!
Well, she took a little time and read through some of my tablescaping books and she felt so confident! Look at that smile on her tiny face!
She asked if I would take her and Gally's picture in my dining room. She wants to start a scrapbook of all her adventures in Blogland when she returns home to England! She and Gally smiled and I snapped! She asked me to go watch "Cops" on the television because she wanted to surprise me! I did exactly as she asked. :) She put on a little apron and left me to do her tablescaping.
I knew she was going through my dishes and linens. I heard drawers opening and closing, the tinkling of glasses and silverware, well, flatware! :) She was deciding what to do! I just could hardly wait to see how she would set the table!
I noticed she and Gally were taking things outside to the back yard. I wanted to look but I didn't. Gally was just talking her little tiny head off to Stella! I couldn't make out what they were saying exactly but I think I heard the word 'picnic'! And look what these two little darlings did! They set up a wonderful spread out under the trees with food and everything! She had picked out one of my tablecloths which was spread over a quilt so our bums would sit on softness! She had picked out the cutest little pink plates with green glasses. We just sat right down and had a lovely conversation and I ate some watermelon.
Then she told me to go back inside. She wanted to put together another tablescape. Okay, this is beginning to get fun! Look what she did this time! She set the patio table with a red and white checkered cloth and brought out a tea pot with a matching water pitcher filled with flowers! She had sat the table with silver pieces holding bread, scones and muffins. She had tucked just the right amount of flowers between the dishes! Oh, it was lovely, don't you think? That little Gally had cream on her mouth!
Stella asked me, "Please, Shelia, can I do another one?" I told to to knock herself out, well, I meant to go ahead! Still outside, she used some burlap material for the table cloth, white paper plates and some lovely sunflowers, my fauxs of course and some pretty little yellow napkins. She was using plastic utensils, because we were outside again and held them together with a little plastic clothespin! But the most creative things were her place cards. She used lemons and took out a black Sharpie and wrote everyone's name on them. Isn't that wonderful? And she has the most lovely handwriting, doesn't she? Gally! What are you drinking? Where did you get that? Oh this little fuzzy face is a sneaky little one, don't you think? Now put that drink down!
Stella asked if she could just put together just one more tablescape. I told her, yes, please! I'm having a great time! So this time she and Gally came back into the house to the dining room. Well, actually she sent Gally into the kitchen to wash the dishes while she rummaged through more linens and dishes. She called me in and let me tell you, Dear Ones, the table was so lovely! She had put on my white linen table cloth (she said she had ironed it, too), white napkins, fine white china with 18 karat gold rims, crystal glasses and some of my silverware. Oh, how pretty this was! She had driven to the store ( I know, I let her drive some) and bought these lovely flowers which she arranged all by herself for the centerpiece! Gally just peeked in through the door because her little paws were soaking wet from washing all of the dishes from the previous tablescapes. This tablescape was so nice we decided to leave it and have dinner right here in the dining room when Mr. Precious came home from work.
Oh, my goodness, Dear Ones! What a fun day I've had with Stella and Gally! I went to take a tiny nap and Stella made herself a pot of tea, she is from England you know, and Gally was waiting patiently for a scone. I don't have a clue who's living room she and Gally are in, but it certainly is pretty, isn't it? ;)

Hope you've enjoyed Tablescaping with Stella! Now don't forget to go to visit our Dear Susan!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

I'm A Woman

I can wash out forty-four pairs of socks
And have them hangin out on the line
I can starch and iron two dozen shirts
Before you can count from one to nine
I can scoop up a great big dipper
Full of lard from the drippin's can
Throw it in the skillet, go out and do my
Shopping and be back before it melts in the pan
'Cause I'm a woman
Double U O M A N
I'll say it again
I can rub and scrub till this old house
Is shinin like a dime
Feed the baby, grease the car and
Powder my face at the same time
Get all dressed up, go out and swing
Till four a.m. and then
Lay down at five, jump up at six
And start all over again
'Cause I'm a woman
Double U O M A N
I'll say it again
If you come to me sickly, you know
I'm gonna make you well
If you come to me hexed up,
You know I'm gonna break the spell
If you come to me hungry,
You know I'm gonna fill you full o' grits
If it's lovin' you're lackin', I'll kiss you
And give you the shiverin' fits
'Cause I'm a woman
Double U O M A N
I'll say it again
I can stretch a greenback dollar bill
From here to kingdom come
I can play the numbers, pay my bills
And still end up with some
I got a twenty dollar gold piece says
There ain't nothin I can't do
I can make a dress out of a feed bag
And I can make a man out of you
'Cause I'm a woman
Double U O M A N
I'll say it again
'Cause I'm a woman
Double U O M A N
And that's all
