Piddlin' On The Sun Porch - Met Monday

Hello, Dear Ones and welcome to another Met Monday hosted by our Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Go visit her and you'll see many transformations of all sorts.

Today I'd like to take you to my little sun porch which is just a step down from my den. The floor is tiled and the windows are huge and you're really just seeing half of it. The other half is my scrap room which is behind a screen. This is a very comfy little spot to sit and sip tea or just watch the doves out in the back yard.

All of my sweet wicker things have been in the garage for eight months because Mother's living room furniture was in here. When we brought our things back in I decided I wanted a little different look from the way it used to be. I posted about my little sun porch when I first started blogging and if you'd like to see the way it was just go here. I haven't done anything really but move the furniture around!

Love this little tray table! The top actually is a tray and can be removed when you need a big pretty tray!
A little tray vignette...
A little faux in a crystal creamer. I've been seeing this creamer for sometime at Ross' and finally decided I needed it. It's really a large size and I'm in love with it. Can you love crystal creamers? You bet your sour milk you can! :)
Now, our olden house had these plantation shutters on all of the windows on the front of the house. I didn't like them at all! They didn't work well and if I opened them, they took up valuable wall space. So when Mr. Precious wasn't looking ~ I took them off! He didn't even notice! I kept them for the longest and then made a screen from them to divide this long porch. I decided to just lean one of the left over shutters against the wall and hang pretties on it. I like this much better!
See? Precious little metal or tin thingys with more of my fauxs in them.
Just behind my little sofa, you can see my handiwork ~ the plantation shutter screen. I just bought some hinges, screwed them on and stood this puppy up and voila! A screen to hide my messy scrap room! Worked like a charm. Well, not like Lucky Charms, you know, that you can eat for breakfast. I wouldn't try to eat this screen, but you could chop it up and use some of the wood for toothpicks. You know I get carried away sometimes and just go off on my little rabbit trails. I'll try to stay focused. :P Oh, don't miss the sweet little girlie figurine Martha sent me! She's standing on Mary books!
I made the floral arrangement in the milk glass basket - filled with fauxs, of course!
Forgive me. I made all of my pillows and am really proud of them so I'm showing them to you again. Am I forgiven? I hope so. Now, 'Forgiven' was a movie, wasn't it? Well, there I go getting off track again. Shoot! I can't help myself! :)

Here's the side of the room with the windows. At one time I had 'to the floor' drapes here and they were tied back on each side. When I decided to paint (yes, Darlings, I painted the walls and trim all by my tiny self! Well, me ~ maybe not so tiny, but I am very short! ) I took off those drapes and realized how much light I had been blocking out. So off with her head! I mean down with the long 'to the floor' light cutting out drapes and up with these cute little butterfly valances that I made. Now we have more light and more view. Oh, this makes me think of the movie 'Rear Window' with James Stewart and Grace Kelly! I loved that old movie. I have seen the remake with Christopher Reeve , after he'd had his accident, and Darryl Hanna. Love Christopher, but the remake fell short. There I go again. Did I take my vitamin this morning, Dear Ones? Maybe I took two by mistake!
Love my Rooster lamp...can you love a Rooster lamp? HA! More dishes - is a house a home without dishes all poked out and everything! Probably not! :)
Isn't he handsome?
Precious little butterfly tassel!

The butterfly valances. Oh, this makes me think of the olden Goldie Hawn movie 'Butterflies Are Free' about Goldie and this blind dude. Oh, there I go again! Shoot! Susan is going to fire me from Met Mondays!
A little window sill vignette~
Little sweet angel sitting on a doily made by my grandmother and sitting on a little wicker stool. Oh, this reminds me of the Hailey Mills movie 'Where Angels Go, Trouble Follows'. Did you see that movie in the 60s? Well, did you know when I was young, I wanted to be Hailey Mills, or rather just look like her. I thought she was the cutest thing! There I go again! Shoot!

Well, Dear Ones, there you have it! My rearranged sun porch. Oh, have you met Cynthia? She is a darling little bear that I received in my first ever giveaway gifts from Jan and Mr. Tom at Rose Haven. Say hi, Cynthia! Guess this doesn't remind me of a movie, but it does remind me how thankful I am to have a sweet little place to sit and Mr. Precious doesn't mind at all that it's rather girly! Maybe this reminds me of the song 'Pretty Woman' by Roy Orbison. I just love Roy Orbison's songs. Dear Ones, I guess if you're going to come to see me, you'll just have to put up with me and my silly ways!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Pretty Woman

Pretty woman, walking down the street
Pretty woman, the kind I like to meet
Pretty woman
I don't believe you, you're not the truth
No one could look as good as you
Mercy

Pretty woman, won't you pardon me
Pretty woman, I couldn't help see
Pretty woman
That you look lovely as can be
Are you lonely just like me
Wow

Pretty woman, stop a while
Pretty woman, talk a while
Pretty woman, give your smile to me
Pretty woman, yeah yeah yeah
Pretty woman, look my way
Pretty woman, say you'll stay with me
'Cause I need you, I'll treat you right
Come with me baby, be mine tonight

Pretty woman, don't walk on by
Pretty woman, don't make me cry
Pretty woman, don't walk away, hey...okay
If that's the way it must be, okay
I guess I'll go on home, it's late
There'll be tomorrow night, but wait
What do I see
Is she walking back to me
Yeah, she's walking back to me
Oh, oh, Pretty woman
