On with the show! Welcome to Tablescape Thursday hosted by our favorite Dishaholic Diva Susan at Between Naps on the Porch. Go see her today for the viewing of many more dishaholics! We're all very proud of our disease.

Now I'm using some new dishes ( you know me, I can't help myself! ) , but this time my buying these dishes was not my fault! A dear sweet blogging friend who has probably more dishes than anyone and who hosts a Friday Meme with food, was just a braggin' about her trip to Big Lots and was showing all the bargains and things she'd bought. I got so excited and wanted to go to Big Lots but our Big Lots was destroyed in the hurricane (it's back now, though)! Well, I got into my little old Jeep and headed up the interstate to a Big Lots and went right straight into that store and found me some new dishes! Now I know many of you bought the big box with all of the serving pieces and things, but no no Nannette, not me. I bought these creamy colored ones and love them. Not my fault, not my fault at all for buying more dishes. Some Dear Gollum was tempting me and I hadn't done much praying on that day and I did not yeild to temptation! :)

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)
I'll leave you with a little Note Song~
Summer Breeze
See the curtains hanging in the window In the evening on a Friday night A little light shining through the window Lets me know that everything's alright Summer breeze, well it makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through my, makes me feel it right Making me feel, making me feel fine Makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Oh sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom July is dressed up and playing her tune And when I come home from a hard day's work And you're waiting there, yes you're waiting there Without A care in the world I see the smile awaiting in the kitchen Food's cooking and a place there for two I see the arms that reach out to hold me In the evening when the day is through Summer breeze, well it makes me feel fine Blowing through the jasmine in my mind Summer breeze, makes me feel fine Blowing through my, making me feel right Making me feel, making me feel fine Makes me feel right Blowing through the jasmine in my mind

From one back porch girl to another...it looks perfect! I like your new blog dress and the song you picked for this post.
ReplyDeleteJust perfect Pickle...love all the Blue you have going on here..Your pictures are wonderful my friend..May you have a great day...Hows your Mama doing? Hugs and smiles Gl♥ria
ReplyDeleteSheila,
ReplyDeleteYou are just the sweetest! You make me giggle and I love how much you love your dishes! I love them too and I know how hard it is to yield to temptation. hehe, I love the story about your trip to big lots. how fun and I would have gone right with ya, Hugs,Cindy
Good job on the new look, Sheila! Love it! and yes, love those old cloths too, aren't they fun? :)
ReplyDeleteI just love all of it. The tablecloth is so lovely and the dishes are all beautiful. What a pretty place to sit and relax and enjoy lunch or a snack. Beautifully done. Hugs, Marty
ReplyDeleteLOVE it! The table is so summery and pretty. Love the new look on the blog too.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. I have so enjoyed visiting on your deck. LOVED your salt and pepper shakers. Your blog does have a very spring feel to it. Hope to drop in again soon, MISSY
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia,
ReplyDeleteWe are proud of our disease, aren't we? LOL I LOVE your beautiful tablecloth! I'm sorely lacking in that department...thanks for the inspiration! Your new dishes are divine...that Gollum corrupted me, too! I think Big Lot dishes are gonna become as common in Blogland as Target birdies! :-) Thanks for joining in TT this week! Susan
P.S. Love the "condensation" pic! :-)
Cute tablescape. I like how you had fun with the flower photos. Looking forward to the Stella posts. I can't wait to see what you have her doing with you. I have a teensy eensy favor to ask. I find it hard to read the print due to the color. If it was a little darker it would be so much easier to read. Otherwise what I do is highlight it then I can read it. I like the new header picture too. It is fun to change things around and keep people on their toes.
ReplyDeleteI love this reminder that summer is near and I love your new look. Summer Breeze is one of my favorite songs too.
ReplyDeleteStay Silly Sweet Shelia!
Oh it's so nice! I just love the hydrangeas and the little butter dish! Big Lots is the best, great dishes!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Allison
I love your olden tablecloth. The colors and pattern are fabulous! Nice to be able to use the back patio/porch. The song you picked is perfect for your tablescape!
ReplyDeleteLove your artistic touches. The red really looks great with the blue and white - kind of patriotic, huh? Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI like your tablecloth and had to laugh when you said you did not iron it. Now who irons anymore? I take my tablecloths out of the dryer damp and hang them over an empty wrapping paper roll and hang them in the closet so there is no need to iron. Oh, did I mention I am allergic to my iron and ironing board? The Dr. made me give it up. Honestly:)
ReplyDeleteJoyce
This is so cheerful! This reminds me of some of Mama's tablecloths.
ReplyDeleteYour new "blog dress" is pretty cute, too!

As always, your posts just blow me away! Even after a long tiring day, you always make me laugh. Thank you so much. Have a good evening.

ReplyDeleteLovely, Sheila. I like how you have used fresh flowers for your tablescape.
ReplyDeleteThank you for visiting and leaving the kind comment. *hugs*
Hi Shelia! I love your tablecloth, the back porch tablescape is divine. I think it could have used a fish jug though. Just a thought. Have a happy Thursday!
ReplyDeleteI love everything about your new look ... I get terrified I will lose some vital component of my blog when I think about changing it and I totally chicken out!
ReplyDeleteI noticed right away! I love the new look! :)
ReplyDeleteI also like the simple patio set up!! Simple but pretty!!!!!!!!
Great table. I love the hydrangea, so pretty!
ReplyDelete~Michelle
Sheila, I love your new blog dress.Don't tell anyone ok...shhhh.. I am a hippie chick from the 70's. Promise not to tell!!
ReplyDeleteI love your tablescape. I especially love your tablecloth!
Hugs, Terrie
I think that this is one of my favorites of the beautiful tables you have done! I love the blue glasses and that tablecloth is fantastic! I love dining outside, and a table like this would make it even more special!
ReplyDeleteI had to go check out Gollum's dishes at Big Lots too, but as I don't have the extra dough right now, I didn't get them. Plus I don't really NEED them. It can wait.
Kady
I get such a kick out of reading your blog! Your tablescape is great! I say back porch too, here in Florida they call them a "lanai!" To me it is a porch, I'm from the south too!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
I love your tablecloth! I just can't seem to have too many tablecloths or dish towels or tea towels or........
ReplyDeleteThe Hydrangea is gorgeous!
Shelia, I just love your sense of humor! ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose creamy white dishes, do they happen to be Thomson "Blanc"? I found mine at Ross and am actually using it for TT also!
I'll be joining in soon, just finishing up a bit more. Make sure you come see it tomorrow (or today), ok?
Hugs, Chandy!
I can see it just fine now. The background is different. I am wondering now if it did not load completely for me and I was seeing the sort of aqua background which made the white hard to see as well as the color of font for the song. This time your designer background is showing up for me and the white is fine there. Perhaps it was my computer that time. Love it now.
ReplyDeleteWhere oh where did you find the little butter dish. Hubs and I have searched everywhere for them.
ReplyDeleteLove the outside table. I need to do one of those one of these days...when I get perkier!!!
Loved it all especially the hydrageas - my favorite flower of all time! Summer Breeze hmm hmm hm hm...I'll be singing it all night long! Very hippie chic background and darling header. Have a groovy evening~~ :)Nancy
ReplyDeleteSimply? You? I have never seen anything but gorgeous detail from you! I love the idea of dinner on the back porch! I love your colors! So cool and and inviting!
ReplyDeleteHow ARE You? We never get to just talk. I want to just sit down..tuck my feetsies up and talk and talk to you. I really DO!
~smiles and love~

P.S. Your new Springtime dress for your blog is so spiffy. It shouts SPRING! How I love that color of green! I think that is called "new leaf green" right? No matter..I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am going to do a Spring/Summer dress too. Someday. But if I don't get going it will not be Spring and then Fall..
:)
Oops, I'm back! Forgot to tell you how much I like your new blog dress, and I just LOVE the header!
ReplyDeleteYou're mentioned in my latest blog posts. I saw a tablescape that reminded me of you and posted a pic of it!
Kady
I love your tablecloth. That's gorgeous. The dishes and cobalt glasses are very pretty and cooling looking. The butter dish is adorable. Well done! I'm going to go look at Big Lots this weekend to see what great new stuff they might have :)
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia! I am glad you're back. I love your simple outdoor tablescape. Looks very relaxing....Christine
ReplyDeleteOh Shelia, thanks for making me smile this early in the morning. I just love your blog and lovely spirit.
ReplyDeleteNow onto your tablescape, how great it looks. Whether the linens are ironed or not, it is the fact that you set the table just for little old me :) What time is lunch?
Thanks for visiting my blog and sharing!
Hi Shelia! I love your new blog dress! So Springy! And I also love your tablescape on the patio. Your tablecloth is a classic...perfect! I didn't see those pretty dishes when I headed over to Big Lots to check out Gollum's dishes. I'll add that to my agenda for today. Still didn't make it to TJ Maxx for the fish jugs...going this morning!! Have a great weekend...hugs...Debbie
ReplyDeleteMorning Shelia~
ReplyDeleteThis is a great time of year to have lunch on the back porch and yours looks perfect. Full of charm. Your porch is so pretty!!
Hugs to you~ J
P.S. I love your new blog dress!
ReplyDeleteHi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern of your tablecloth; it is beautiful. I can't wait until the weather is nice enough to plan a patio tablescape.
Have a lovely day!
Nola @ The Bloom Girls
Perfect post from a "perfect" lady...can I bring Zoe???
ReplyDeleteI like "back porch" too! Your table is lovely. Your new blog is so cute. After my blog melt-down I took a moment to figure out if my obsession with blogging was a little out of control and used the idea of a new blog to make blogging a little more simple and to not spend as much time on the computer. I am enjoying re-thinking blogging and myself and how it will work. You have a great day.
ReplyDeleteThe Raggedy Girl
Shelia,
ReplyDeletethat table cloth is georgous! It reminds me of italy and sitting on the curb side drinking from your blue glasses and enjoying the afternoon. Just lovely.
Blossom
Hi Sheila, Love that tablecloth! Hydrangeas are some of my favorite flowers too, they are so pretty. Your blog looks fabulous btw! Kristen
ReplyDeleteLove your tablescape, Shelia! Oh, how festive! Save a spot for me, I'll be right over...
ReplyDeleteXO,
Sheila :-)
Ah, I love this simple setup, Shelia! The hydrangeas are gorgeous and the blue glasses are awesome! You must have put a lot of ice in those glasses. Looks nice and frosty!
ReplyDeleteJustine :o )
It all looks gorgeous and so pretty outside. I am having vintage tablecloth LOVE right now. I have bought several off ebay lately. They look so pretty on our table...even if we don't have all the pretty and fancy dishes like you do.
ReplyDeletePerfect tablescape! I love the outdoor setting. Everything is so pretty. Lovely!
ReplyDeleteI love your new header and those BLUE glasses!
ReplyDeleteSimple, maybe. But that's my kind of table setting! I love the colors and the outdoors theme.

SHeila,
ReplyDeleteI do love that tablecloth. I have about 5 vintage tablecloths. There are pretty hard to find around my part of the country. I can't wait until it gets warm enough to do an outside table with pretty flowers like yours.
What a pretty little place to set a simple table! Love all your linens, new dishes (LOVE ME SOME BIG LOTS!) and the creative centerpiece. Best hurry anda eat out there before the mosquitos swarm. I'm sure it will be crazy around here with ALL the rain we've been having. Maybe Mr. Precious will screen in your little porch for you!?!?! Hint, hint Mr. Precious!
ReplyDeleteWOW... your blog is très adorable!!!
ReplyDeleteOooooh you never know when your photos will become REAL PAINTINGS!!!
ENJOY your day!
Fifi
i think your simply dressed table is absolutely beautiful, even if the cloth wasnt ironed...lol without being too forward, i would love to join you.

Love,
Sue
Sheila,
ReplyDeleteA southern charmer you are....as is your tablescpae! LOve the new look, dear!
A pretty table and there is nothing like dining al fresco.
ReplyDeleteDear Sheila, I love your pretty dishes in white. Very summery and back porch perfect. Your flowers brighten the table so nice. I love to eat on our deck and I just went to Big Lots and found the sweetest round table and chairs. A brown wicker look that I love.
ReplyDeleteYour blog makeover is so pretty. It is almost retro, like flower power. Love the little pink bows. Good job.
Love and hugs...Jeanne
Well, that is lovely! So fresh, summery and such pretty colors. Your tablecloth is also a beautiful color and pattern. Makes me want to sit on the porch and drink iced tea. Linda
ReplyDeleteVery lovely tablescape. Love the touches of blue.
ReplyDeleteThanks alot. I have the Gollum Big Lot plates, but now I see the need to get me some Note Songs Big Lot plates too. Look what you started. I actually already have plates like yours but they are 25 years old & very crazed. I still love them but they are no longer pretty, so if I can find new ones at Big Lots I'll be dancing the happy dance. Cross your fingers that my Big Lots has the same plates.
ReplyDeleteLove the outside setting, the dishes, the flowers, the blue stemware! The cloths are wonderful!!!!! I hit Big Lots too, but paid way more than Gollum and I think my set of 64 pieces is different too. Love you tablescape!
ReplyDeleteHi Shelia
ReplyDeleteThat was such a nice lunch on your back porch! Thank you for sharing with us. You have joined the club of Gollum dishes..*s*. I wish we had that store around here but ... we don't. I love the way you set everything up so beautifully.
hope you've had a great day
Judi
p.s. hope you mom has settled in nicely...is feeling good and is happy.
That was fun! Such pretty colors...the blue of that glass is wonderful..
ReplyDeleteI have the disease too, but I can't blame Gollum! I had it long before I met her, and even had those white dishes she "inspired" everyone to buy!
As for the Target birdies, I don't have them..but their cousins arrived on my centerpiece this week, and I didn't even realize they were related till all the talk of the birds flying the coop!
Have a great weekend!
Shelia,
ReplyDeleteLOVE your vintage tablecloth! It looks so pretty with those new dishes, and the lovely cobalt blue glasses!
Love that vintage tablecloth, and those colbalt glasses (did you say where you got those?). I wanted to win that pretty pitcher, but I was glad you won it. It looks so pretty with that gorgeous bloom in it. When I go to one of those photoshop sites, I can spend hours just playing. Yours look great! laurie
ReplyDeleteI just love your back porch table setting. Blooms from your own yard, sigh...My daffodils and tulips are just starting to open!! I'm always just a step behind you Southern girls!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour tablecloth is so pretty and I do like those dishes. You can really play around with just a few of the basic whites.
Wonderful job! Have a great rest of the week. Oh, I love the new blog dress. Funky. In a good way!
xoxo
Jane
Wonderful tablecloth, ironed or not! I am a sucker for blue and white -- this is such an inviting outdoor table. And "my" old gravy boat looks very much at home on your table, and also looks pretty proud at being the subject of 3 "paintings." :-)
ReplyDeleteLove the cobalt goblets. And I didn't even know that Big Lots had dishes! You learn something every day.... Cass
Oh boy ! I love that tablecloth Sheila.
ReplyDeleteLove this blue tablescape on your back porch!
