Foodie Friday

Hello Dear Ones and welcome again to Foodie Friday hosted by our Diva of Everything Gollum at Designs by Gollum. Please go over to visit her and you'll see lots more lovelies playing with their food! It's the most fun and you'll snag a few recipes to boot!

Now you know I've just returned from a blogging break to see our Darling Daughter and son-in-law who live in the Seattle, Washington area. Well, a trip to Washington isn't complete unless you go to the Space Needle Restaurant. I know, it's all about the food! ;)

Are you afraid of heights, Dear One? Then you'd better not risk it! lol

Oh, my goodness! My little group is very hungry and they are just about to get out of hand!

Oh, so much better! Everyone is so calm and smiling now because we're about to order delicious food. Now I must tell you, you know the feeling, I didn't chop, rinse, flour, sauce or even turn on an oven - what a happy feeling! This restaurant rotates 360' about every 45 minutes or so. You can see the beautiful views behind us. Oh, the atmosphere!
We started off with great little hard rolls and this most delicious hazelnut oil for dipping! Wish I had some now. I forgot to take a picture of my little roll - I ate it just a bit too fast! :)
We all ordered this tasty salad - it's pretty too, isn't it? Herbal greens, apples, Oregon creamery blue cheese and huckleberry vinaigrette.
Next on to the entrees' - I had a petite Kobe Top Sirloin drizzeled with a wine sauce, a mixture of potatoes and crispy asparagus.
Mr. Precious, always thinking of his pasta for running, had a lovely mixed seafood pasta.
Son-in-law's Crusted Tuna sitting in a strawberry sauce and mashed potatoes with a little kick to them! :)
Darling Daughter's Cedar Wrapperd Salmon with potato cakes.

Needless to say, the dinner was excellent and we enjoyed the gorgeous views and time with our children.

Now on to the desserts!
Dear Daughter and hubs shared a creme brulee.
They licked the bowl and even finger licked the crumbs! :)
Now I had a divine cheesecake with mixed berries on the side. I love my cheesecake and did not, I say, DID NOT WANT TO SHARE WITH MR. PRECIOUS! But being the wonderful one that I am, I did! But I didn't let him have very much! ;)
See? Just look at this plop of delectable tastiness - do you blame me?
I really did want to pick the plate up and just lick off the rest of the sauce, but you know what a lady I am and would never do that in public. :)

Well, Foodie Friday is all about the food - homemade or not - that's what Dear Gollum says. So I hope you enjoyed feasting your most gorgeous little peepers on our dinner.

Just a tiny plug for the camera on my iphone - it's great! I took all the pictures with my phone because my battery died on my camera! Pretty good shots, huh?

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Sitting On Top Of The World

I'm sitting on top of the world,
Just rolling along, just rolling along.
I'm quitting the blues of the world,
Just singing a song, just singing a song.

Glory, hallelujah, I just phoned the parson,
"Hey, Par, get ready to call!"
Just like humpty dumpty,
I'm ready to fall.

I'm sitting on top of the world,
Just rolling along, just rolling along.
I'm quitting the blues of the world,
Just singing a song, just singing a song
~sung by Dean Martin

  12. Oh Shelia - You were only about three hours from me when you were in Seattle. I love it there - I wasborn near there. And I've always wanted to go to the top of the Space Needle! My sweetheart doesn't want to go up so I guess I'll have to go alone or find a friend to go with me! Thanks for sharing the fabulous view and the wonderful food! ~Adrienne~

  17. Welcome back to blogging. That food looks pretty good. We went there but we had breakfast and it wasn't nearly that yummy looking. I only remember Miss Silly's chocolate chip pancake because the put the chips on top of the pancake instead of in it and she was not a happy camper about that.
    p.s. iPhones rock!

  18. It looks like you had a great time in my neck of the woods! I love Pike Place Market, I used to buy my coffee in little brown bags that had little wire closures and a funny mermaid stamped on the front!

  19. Hi Sheilia...

Just wanted to stop by to say thank you for coming by and taking a peek at my Dollar Store tablescape...and thank you for the sweet comments!

Well my friend, it looks like you've been having the time of your life! So very happy for you!!! Seeing all of your family photos sure made me homesick for my three daughters...they all live in Texas and I'm in Colorado! I just don't get to see them as often as I would like! I could just see "happy, happy, joy, joy" written all over your faces! Thank you so much for taking us up the space needle with you...I haven't been there since I was 10 yrs. old...hehe! The food looked divine...mmmm!!!

    Warmest wishes,
    Chari

  20. Miss Shelia...what a small world blogland can be! My son and daughter in-law live in Seattle too.
For us it's just around 3 hours by train. The Space Needle is too high for this ol' gal to venture. Although the food may just be all the coaxing I'd need. I did enjoy the walk around the whole center and grounds. Did you see the magnificent water fountain? I couldn't believe how big it was.

Have you ever been to Salty's for the Sunday brunch? AMAZING BEYOND WORDS!!!

My apologies...The post I had on my blog was an old Foodie post. I didn't think anyone would be visiting until tomorrow. So I thought I could wait to post the new one before I went to bed. All that to say I hope you can come by sometime to see the new one. Sorry for the mix up.

    Sweet wishes,
    Sara

I just read your post from yesterday too and I LOVE your Easter tureen, it's the cutest thing! Have a nice weekend!

  45. Oh my goodness, that food looks beyond delicious! I think I would have had the salmon too. That cheesecake is to die for!

I am absolutely terrified of heights, but as long as there was no glass elevator to get to the top, I think I could handle that restaurant because there is a wall. If the windows went all the way to the floor, I couldn't get near the edge. Funny the things that people are scared of!
