Foodie Friday: Muss But No Fuss Dinner

Oh, Dear Ones, I'm thrilled to be taking part in the very first Foodie Friday hosted by our most famous one, Gollum at http://designsbygollum.blogspot.com/. These posts will be all about FOOD - anyway you want to serve it, cook it, photograph it, make it yourself, buy it, just any way you want to serve it up! So please go by Dear Gollum's blog and you'll see others serving up some food today!

Now, if you visit me very often, you know how very neat and orderly I am. Everything has it's place and everything is in it's place. (you know I'm kidding!) Now brace yourself and please don't be shocked, I've had one of those weeks and didn't want to cook - I would have had to clean up the kitchen and didn't want to do that either. So I'm showing you my messy mussy kitchen!
Look at this mess! Nasty! Mr. Precious wouldn't clean it up, Mother with her busted upness wouldn't clean it up and Chloe Dawn is too short and can't reach the counters! So this is my solution for dinner...sandwiches! ;)
Now please believe me, you may not realize it, but the making of a sandwich takes special skills.
Do I have these skills? You better bet your Mama I do! ;)
Now I use only the freshest bread. It has to be fresh when the top is twisted together with the little yellow tie right?! :)
Then each slice is toasted just to perfection...a nice light golden brown.
The ingredients to a perfect sandwich. I know, there's no onions or lettuce, but hey, I'm tired!
See the gorgeous toastyness!
Slop, um, I mean neatly spread the mayo on one slice of the toasty bread.
This step is very important...cheese next to the mayo, then the tomato, slightly salted - we don't want our bread to get soggy, then add deli thin sliced ham.
Oh, you thought I forgot about the other toasty slice? No I didn't...this slice is for the mustard. I just love mustard. Can you...never mind! ;)
Slice the freshly made sandwich crosswise with a very sharp knife - watch your dainty fingers, though. Many a dainty finger has been accidently sliced right off! Ouch!
Add some nice Doritos and pour yourself a icy cold glass of peach tea and there you have it - a muss but no fuss dinner. Oh, don't forget your napkin - the cutest little folded in half paper towel on the block!

Now don't forget to visit Dear Gollum!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Sandwiches Time

Until a better time
You walk along that line
Love me
Love me

You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah

Into another place
You walk along the face
Love me
Love me

You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah

Sandwiches time
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches on my mind

You do it
You do it
Until you're blue
You want it, ah

Sandwiches time
Sandwiches time
Sandwiches on my mind

Into another place
Into another place
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

    XO,

  10. Nothing like a good, well-made sandwich!! Thanks for stopping by my sheep picture post. Now, stop worrying about that little lamb. Sheep dogs are trained to find those lambs whose Mamas left them. The sheep herder will be right there to bottle-feed that lamb. Take care. Sally

My cousin Bob has bee cooking and cleaning up the kitchen with a little help from my dh. He is leaving on Tues. and I will be in need of your services. I am going to print this out and show it to my DH. Surly he can make a sandwich and I will love anything I do not have to fix. A walker and cooking do not mix.
