Hello, Dear Ones! I've just been thinking. I haven't really thought much of celebrating the new year. Shame on me! Just going about my little day taking care of my Mother, Mr. Precious and Chloe Dawn, yes, in that order.

Now I don't usually make resolutions but I did decide I was going to make a much bigger effort to be thankful. Thankful!

I could look at all the bad things in my life
I could see just the hurt, the pain and strife

But I have so much to be thankful for
Despite all the evil waiting outside my door

My family is a blessing
Though we do have our times

And I am grateful for the memories I have
Because these I can keep while we all go our separate paths

My friends are amazing
I just can't say enough

To give them the credit they deserve
For sticking by me when things get tough

Those two things I treasure most
They are above everything else

You could give me money and all the glory and fame
But it would all fade in comparison to those precious names

God has blessed me in so many ways
Just sometimes the good gets lost in the bad throughout the days

But on this blessed day
I felt I had to stop and say

Thank You, God, for everything
For the sun in the sky, the birds and the trees

But most of all, Thank You for Your merciful love
And for being for me much more than enough

Thank you for all the treasure you have given me
In amazing friends and a wonderful family

I could not ask for more on this blessed day
Because everything that I need is right in front of my face

I'm so thankful for my life and for you, my Dear Blog Friends. I'm thankful for the opportunity I've had to meet so many wonderful ones and to share in your lives and hoped you've enjoyed sharing in mine too!
Guess what? I'm also thankful because...
I Won!!!!
Woo Hooness! I Won!!!

I entered our most wonderful artist, Fifiness Flowers give away and won a set of her note cards.

And, do you know what else was so special? She let me pick which set I wanted!! Woo Hooness!

Note Song~Give Thanks
Give thanks with a grateful heart
Give thanks unto the Holy One
Give thanks because He's given Jesus Christ, His Son
And now let the weak say, 'I am strong'
Let the poor say, 'I am rich
Because of what the Lord has done for us'
Give thanks

This is a very sweet post Shelia. It's so important to focus on our blessings, especially when we're going through a tough time. As I fall asleep each night, I think of at least 3 things that day that I have to be thankful for--it really helps me to keep the right perspective.
ReplyDeleteThose cards are beautiful and so YOU. I doubt that you'll be able to use all of them. Keep one and frame it so that you'll always have it.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful Pickle..and I am alive and for that I am thankful..great words...hope you have a blessed day...hugs and smiles Gloria

First Shelia...congrats on the win! Those note cards look just like you! And, yes, I get busy and forget to be gratefu. Sometimes God just pulls me to a screeching halt from my busy life and says...Now, just look at that beautiful moon! I also need to slow down and say thanks. Have a great weekend...Debbie
ReplyDeleteSheila, I loved your post. Growing up I was always taught if you have a roof over your head. And you don't go to bed hungry you have something to be thankful for. There are many in this world that aren't that lucky. I try to remember this is I start to have my own little pity party. Which is seldom! I am so grateful for the life I have. I am truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteI loved your beautiful pictures and words. I wish everyone would realize how lucky they are. Even the worst of times can't be that bad. It helps us lean on our lord and savior.
Hugs, Terrie
Amen...and congrats on your win!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful post, Shelia!
ReplyDeleteI am thankful to have met you here in the land of blog. I treasure our friendship.
I so appreciated your post. I laugh at myself at night when I want to say my prayers. I find it so hard to thank the Lord "good enough" for all He has done for me. I tell Him that I can't pray long enough to thank Him for everything He has done, given, helped me...I am truly blessed. Wonderful post.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. I am so thankful I met you here in blog-land. What a blessing. I do hope to meet you sometime in person when we travel to my parents home in Houston!
