Tablescape Tuesday

Good morning and welcome to another Tablescape Tuesday hosted by the most wonderful Dish Diva Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Go visit her to see other dish players today.

I would like to share with you another little set up in my breakfast room. This is a very child-like whimsical setting. So I hope you enjoy it.
Looks a bit messy, doesn't it? Maybe like a Christmas decorations box exploded! Well, I've got lots going on here! :P Let me show you!

I'm using a white tablecloth and very soft olive green round placemats. But the fun begins with these wonderful little Christmas tree napkin rings! Aren't they precious!?

I saw these little wonderful napkin rings at a thrift store and had to have them. And guess what? I love them! Can you love Christmas tree napkin rings? Yessiree!! ;)

Now to my fun little childlike Christmas dishes. These are called "Season's Greetings" by Queen's china. No, not the Freddy Mercury Queen. But I do like Queen's music! Let's see..."This thing, called love..." Oh, I'm sorry, I got off track. I do that from time to time. ;) These dishes have very soft muted colors, not the typical bright reds and greens. You see the beautifully decorated Christmas tree, candles and presents and all of this is surrounded by a floral and grapevine border. They are truly very sweet!

Look at the darling little angel on top of the tree! Makes me feel like a little girl! I love that! Can you love feeling like you're a little girl when you're really not a little girl, but an oldie!!?? You bet your Christmas presents you can!!

Okay, I've composed myself and will try so very hard to conduct myself as an adult! I tied a wired gold ribbon around my glasses to make them look festive.
This is probably not very practical but I think it sure is cute! Don't you? ;)
My centerpiece is a darling little Santie riding in a car! Actually this belongs to Mr. Precious, but I told him I'd be very careful with Santie and just use him for a little while. I popped him up on a little cake stand (you know how I love my cake stands!) to give him a little height and then tied a wired gold ribbon bow around the base of the stand.
I do believe Santie's car is quite spiffy! Ho Ho HO!

I love this...I'll say no more!

I have little ornaments spread all around on the table and this little cutie is a little Christmas Schnauzer dedicated to our most fuzzy Chloe Dawn! Although my Chloe Dawn is much more beautiful than this.

Nutcracker cookie press.
Little snow globe - I shook it up and I think that's why it looks rather murky!

I was in Hobby Lobby a few weeks back and saw this little Santie holding salt and pepper gingerbread men! I had to have this! You know the feeling...it was calling to me. So here he sits or stands with cookies for you - well, really they're salt and pepper shakers! ;)
Don't you love this? You can love salt and peppers, I know I do!
More little Christmas cuteness!

Even with all the Christmas cuteness, it's nice to have some candlelight!

There you have it, Dearest Ones, my little cutesy putsey Christmas table. I'm so glad I still love to play with my dishes. Now make sure you stop by Susan's to see more dish divas!

Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia ;)

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Santa Claus is Comin' to Town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
You'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
You'd better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
He's making a list
And checking it twice
Gonna find out who's naughty and nice
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
Oh, you'd better watch out
You'd better not cry
Better not pout
I'm telling you why
Oh! Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Little tin horns
And little toy drums
Rooty-toot-toot
And rump-a-tum-tum
Curly-haired dolls
That tootle and coo
Elephants, boats and kiddie cars too
Oh! Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
One more time now..
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town
Santa Claus is comin' to town

  6. I love the way you've put all the Christmas elements together for one gorgeous table. You know my favorite has to be the little Schnauzer all dressed for the holiday.

I was thinking of Chloe Dawn and wondering how she did with the flooring wonderfulness going on in her house. I'm sure she was a gracious girl to all the workmen and didn't try to lick their ears when they were down on their hands and knees. :)

  15. You have a 1 in 129 chance to win Susan's giveaway, IF you are registered as a follower. I of course exclude myself because of our familial relationship.

I totally adore the napkin ring. I find the colors in the china very restful, not so bright like some Christmas china. The bright colors are introduced through all the various things scattered on the table top. You can determine how bright you want it to be, instead of the china making that decision for you.

  16. It's wonderful, Shelia...yes, I love it all and it's quite alright to love dishes and salt and pepper shakers, etc!! It's also correct to be childlike, even if one is an oldie!!

    Beautiful table!

  17. I just realized I didn't respond to a question from you. I was not at the cookie swap. DH doesn't "do" Atlanta traffic and I don't either. In the 20+ years Susan has been in the Atlanta Metro area, we have been up there twice. Both times DH drove in the middle of the night to avoid traffic. She comes South as often as she can manage. She appears to thrive on the big city, it makes me and DH nervous.
