Tablescape Tuesday

Today is Tablescape Tuesday and is hosted by our sweet Tablescape Diva Susan at http://betweennapsontheporch.blogspot.com/. Go see her today and you can gaze upon all the lovely tablescapes.
Is this not a pretty Christmasy table? Mr. Precious and I were out shopping at Dillard's and there in front of me was this beautiful table all decked out! It was calling "Tablescape Tuesday...Tablescape Tuesday". You know I just happend to have my little pink trusty camera in my purse, so what did I do? I snapped! ;)
Look at the lovely green trim and the design is so whimsical! Love the swirls and the holly berries!

Even matching glasses!

The hurricane with the candle certainly makes a great centerpiece! In all of my excitement, I forgot to turn a dish over to see what pattern it was. As soon as I snapped, Mr. Precious said, "Don't look at any more dishes!" Well, for the rest of the day I didn't look at any more dishes. Now I don't think he was talking about future looking, do you!:P

Be a bunch of sweeties,

I'll leave you with a little Note Song~

Honey Don't

Well, how come you say you will when you won't?

Say you do, baby when you don't

Let me know, honey, how you fell

Tell the truth now, is love real?

so, aw, aw Well, honey don't

Well, honey don't

Honey don't

Honey don't

Honey don't

I say you will when you won't

aw, aw, honey don't

Well, I love you, baby, and you ought to know

I like the way that you wear your clothes

Everything about you is so doggone sweet

You got that sand all over your feet

so, aw, aw Well, honey don't

Honey don't Honey don't

Honey don't

Honey don't

I say you will when you won't

aw, aw, honey don't

I feel fine

Ooo, oo, I say

Well sometimes I love you on a Saturday night

Sunday morning you don't look right

You been out painting the town

Uh huh, baby been stepping around

so, aw, aw

Well, honey don't

I say, honey don't

Honey don't

Honey don't

Honey don't I say you will when you won't

aw, aw, honey don't

Well, honey don't

Well, honey don't a little, little, honey don't

I say, you will when you won't

Aw, aw, honey don't

  5. Oh, Shelia, that is a gorgeous table! I wish I could find that pattern because it would be perfect in my home. I live on Holly Street and we are trying to feature holly in our Christmas decor. Those dishes would be perfect! If you go back there again and they are still displayed would you mind 'disobeying' Mr. Precious? Would you take a look and see what the pattern is? I'm going to look around when I get a chance to shop a bit farther away than my little town. Thanks for sharing it with us. ~Adrienne~

  8. I've got to admit, the plates and glasses are beautiful, but Dillards has got nothing on you when it comes to tablescaping!

  9. That really is pretty Christmas china. Some women would have a closet full of shoes but for me, make it a china cabinet full of dishes.

  10. These poor guys we're married to put up with so much, don't they?

The table is pretty, but not one bit as nice as one of yours.

  11. What a pretty tablescape. You have a great eye and (thank goodness) a ready camera! I miss Dillards, we don't have them here. The closest one to me is Reno. Sounds like a good excuse to go to Reno, to heck with gambling, leave me at Dillards, better returns on your investments there! lol

  15. Thank goodness for cameras.

It is very pretty China and a great setting for Tablescape Tuesday. I am sure Mr Precious also meant that didnt want you looking for more China just for that day too - he was probably in a hurry to get out of the shop because his wife was taking lots of pictures of the store merchandise, he he. I find I take pictures of everything and anything in stores now and do get a few strange looks every now and then. Do you ever wonder what you did before blogging? Good job there are a lot of days ahead..for china shopping....do you have room for any more China?

By the way, I love the music too!

  16. Don't look at any more dishes!?!?!
Is he absolutely kidding? Well, I say you might as well hog tie me to the shed cuz it isn't possible! You can take a dish diva away from the dishes, but the dishes will FIND the dish diva!
(Please remember, I am on NightQyl and Dayqyl....not totally responsible!)

  18. Really glad the floorwalkers didn't think you were "casing the joint". They are probably getting use to people taking pictures with cellphones to send to someone for another opinion. Glad a real camera didn't upset them. Beautiful table.

  28. Ah Shelia, this is beautiful!

You know I am so easily "tricked" into adding more dishes. It's not my fault. It seems my daughters are always eager enablers. Yes, while J was at the sale with Aunt Ruth, Sunday, I received a call from my eldest. Like her baby sister, the day before, she was on Got a Deal and found a "deal" for her mother. I succumbed to the temptation and ordered dishes...what's a girl to do!

T's baby sister M, practically "insisted" that I start the Dept 56, A Christmas Story collection, on Saturday! I was getting myself in trouble right and left over the weekend but oh what fun it was!!

  29. Hi Shelia. Lucky us you brought that camera with you! The table looks lovely. I really like those dishes. Who knows maybe someday I will break down and buy myself a nice set to use.

    take care,

But he would have had to drag me away too from that pretty tablescape! How handy that you had your camera with you! I really need to take a lesson from you! *winks* Your blog is simply wonderful! 39. Husbands just don't understand that we need to turn those dishes over to check them out, do they?? I think I have embarrassed mine more than once turning a dish over. Now, I've noticed that my daughter does the same thing? Her husband is probably also saying, "Sheech!!!" Have a great day. Sally

  41. This was so festive and pretty. I know what you mean about dishes. My husband says he almost didn't marry me after I took him into the dish barns in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. It was a touchy moment. LOL Now I have converted him. But it took a long while, I'll tell you. :-)

  42. THat was nice of Dillards to set the table just for you! They must have heard you were coming.

  45. What a truly lovely tablescape! Thank you for sharing it with all of us. I really liked that centerpiece--that is going in my 'idea file'. What's the word on your flooring? Are they going to get it installed before Christmas? I can't imagine what you must have felt when the box was opened and you saw the wrong color! Oh, it makes me a little mad just thinking about it--and it isn't even my floor!

    ReplyDelete
  46. OMG! That is such a beautiful tablescape and you didn't have to wear yourself out putting it together! Even better! LOL!

  47. Hi Shelia,

This is a fun festive table...
    Have a wonderful week.

  48. That is one pretty tablescape. Maybe you can sneak back over there and find out the name of the pattern on those dishes. heehee. I won't tell Mr. Precious you did that.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Hi sheila, I think Mr. precious is like my dh. He doesn't like to shop. I can't imagine why he was worried about you looking at dishes. Big Smile. The table looks very pretty. I will say your tablescapes are always more fun with interesting dishes grouped together. I do like the dishes shown and it is very festive.

Sorry I haven't been over sooner. We were gone all day shopping and doing errands. LOL. I'm tired.

    Christmas love...Jeanne

  51. Shelia~ this is a beautiful tablescape. I'm also glad I'm not the only who carries my camera with me at all times. My favorite thing about this post is the note song~ honey don't. My husband right now is saying yes, we got a beautiful headboard for a great price but honey don't go on craiglist for a while....lol. There really are some great collectibles on there, too. Thanks for the sweet comments. :)

  53. Hello, oh sweetest of Sheladies!

I understand your love of china because I have a little hankering for it myself. It classifies as one of my very shiniest objects! ;-) I'm glad you shared this with us, and I look forward to seeing more.

I love that Andy Warhol-esque montage of you on your sidebar! LOL! You are wonderful!
