A little Christmas Decorating and Some Awards

All of you, and I really mean ALL of you are so decorated for Christmas! I had to do a little bit of decorating. We can't put our tree up until our new flooring is down. I will tell you a secret - workmen will start laying it tomorrow!! Hallelujah! So in the meantime, I did want to show you some of my decorating in the den.
Here is my mantle and how I've decorated it this year. It's always different every year and I have rather a hard time deciding what to do - do you? I'm not very good with mantles. I combined a couple of garlands, added lights and some gold beads.

Found this Santie a few years ago and popped him up there in the middle. Now I don't have any reindeer but I do have lots of doggies. I turned my back to get something and lo and behold (that's my Christmas talk) a couple of my doggies jumped up to be Santie's helpers!

Just look at this Christmasy obedient Staffordshire I'll help Santie doggie face!

Oh, here's another little fuzzy face - just waiting for the jolly old guy to tell him what to do. That's my doggies!

Isn't he a cutie? All dedked out in his Christmas finery even down to his little boots!
I have one more thing to show you. Since I couldn't put up my tree in the entry, I added a swag to the bannister. Actually the floral part was a big candle ring and I just squeezed it together and made bows for the top. You may be asking why I didn't put garland down the stairway spindles - well, we just had it painted and I didn't want to scratch it up. I'll scratch it up next year!

Here's a little closer view. I've so enjoyed seeing all of your decorations and was so sad that I didn't have my big tree up. But I feel a little better now.
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia :)

I fell so special today, my sweet friend Dawn at http://dawnsdaybreak.blogspot.com/ passed this beautiful "Friends" award to all on her bloglist. I didn't have to do anything, just be one of her visitors. Thank you so much sweet Dawn!

Here is the explantion of the chosen blogs for the "Friends" award:

These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind bloggers aim to be friends. They are not interested in self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these kind writers. When you pass the award along please include these guidelines.I am to choose 8 friends to share this with.

Well, here I go breaking the rules again, but I too, would love to pass this special "Friends" award on to all on my Blog list. You can see the little tag and that will take you to my list! Thank you again, Dawn!

  9. I knew that the Shelia I knew was not sitting around an undecorated house, just waiting for her BLASTED floors to get finished. And, I was right; the mantle looks Shelia-lovely. (That's a new word combination I've just invented, since the word "lovely" is no longer descriptive enough.)

The mantle swag is the perfect touch to greet visitors as they walk into your beautiful new entry.

Congratulations on the awards. This is the very reason I did not include you yesterday; you don't need any more awards--you're justifiably loaded! (Once again, I was right!) See, I love to be right too!

PS I also love popcorn, AND your new header is delightful!

  40. Hello dear Sheila, Your mantel is beautiful I love the lights and the Santa in the middle. Very nice job. Love the swag too. so festive and I am glad your are feeling better about your decorating. Yay!!! The floor will be done for Christmas. I know it will be beautiful.

Your awards are fun and well deserved. I love your meme as it allows your friends to get to know you better. Every time I have company my kitchen gets turned upside down. LOL. I can never find what I want after company leaves. I'd rather have company though. It gives me a reason to re-organize.
Thank you for passing on your lovely awards.

Here is a diva scoop. I took pics in the mirrors of simple elegance. There are several bathrooms in that store used as display purposes. I couldn't resist some mirror photos. I had fun, the whole time thinking of you. Come see the rest of the store tomorrow. It is truly amazing.

    Christmas love...Jeanne
