Oh, my goodness! What has happened in my kitchen? Look! Well, please don't look at the old fashioned under counter lighting, that's a little embarrassing! Just look at the dishes! I can't show you my new carpet yet because the dining and living rooms are almost
nekked(Texan again, for naked)! I need to clean all the wood really well and cram, um, not cram but 'place ever so neatly' all my things in all of stowaway places. I came down with a stomach bug last night and didn't feel like doing
nuttin'! So, you can see my little mess!

I had to unpack my china cabinet, my Little Richard and my antique server of some of my dishes and where was I to put them - on my kitchen counters - making a complete mess! Now bear in mind, these are just the dishes I stash in my dining room. I have much more! Hi, my name is Shelia and I'm a dishaholic. Okay, on with the show...

Dishes are everywhere!

Oh, I love these dishes. Can you love Blue Garland dishes by
Haviland? Of course you can!

Casserole bowls...

Beverage server, butter pat plates...

Sugar and creamer...

Even disheveled salt and peppers sitting onplates and bowls and golden disheveled chargers. Oh, my!

Look! Pink disheveled dishes!

Precious little Rose Bouquet dishes by Johnson Brothers. These were the first little dishes Mr. Precious bought for me when we first married. The pattern is discontinued now and they have my heart! Aww...

As Bo calls these, the faux Johnson Brothers dishes. I love faux dishes and my faux dishes love me! lol

Very old white disheveled dishes.

Is this a mess or what? Can anybody help me? I'm feeling disheveled around my edges!

Disheveled pink depression glasses...

Precious hand painted salt and peppers ...disheveled, of
course!

Crystal, vintage and newer, depression glass - all disheveled dishes!

Even the tiniest of salt and peppers completely disheveled! I think I'm going to need help! I'm feeling rather dizzy looking at all this disheveled mess! I believe I need to go and take a nap. There's always tomorrow! :) Wanna come over and help me put these all away. Christmas is coming? Next week? Yes, I'm going to lie down now! :P
Be a bunch of sweeties,
Shelia;)
I'll leave you with a little
Note Song~
Well, actually, would you believe I can't think of a single song to go with this post! What the heck...
I Want A hippopotamus for Christmas
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
Don't want a doll, no dinky Tinker Toy
I want a hippopotamus to play with and enjoy
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
I don't think Santa Claus will mind, do you?
He won't have to use our dirty chimney flue
Just bring him through the front door,
that's the easy thing to do
I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles, no rhinoceroses
I only like hippopotamuses
And hippopotamuses like me too
Mom says the hippo would eat me up, but then
Teacher says a hippo is a vegeterian
There's lots of room for him in our two-car garage
I'd feed him there and wash him there and give him his massage
I can see me now on Christmas morning,
creeping down the stairs
Oh what joy and what surprise
when I open up my eyes
to see a hippo hero standing there
I want a hippopotamus for Christmas
Only a hippopotamus will do
No crocodiles or rhinoceroseses
I only like hippopotamuseses
And hippopotamuses like me too!

Oh...what pretty dishevelment!!! Of course, I'll come and help you...we'll have soooooooo much fun!!
ReplyDeleteShelia you have enough dishes to set up your own kitchenware shop. You have great taste and personally you can NEVER have too many dishes. It looks organised to me - cant wait to see the new carpet!
ReplyDeleteSheila, I would LOVE to come and help you put away those dishes. I'll even store them in my car for you! :) LOVE 'EM!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better today - take a quiet day today and let the workers do all the work today installing the carpet.
That was like walking through the department store china section...I even put my hands behind my back so I wouldn't knock something over!!
ReplyDeleteYour dishes are soooo pretty!
Well, your dish greatness, you have taken the first step. Admitting you are a dishaholic :)
ReplyDeleteAnd also, this is when I clean my china cabinet...when I'm forced to unload it. And that's not to often.
Love Ya,
Chris
Good morning Shelia, I hope your feeling better soon. You have just the most lovely dishes. I especially like all of the pink. I hope you have a great day.
ReplyDeleteYou have got some really pretty dishes there. Too bad I don't live close enough to come help. Get some rest so you have the energy to put them away again. After the carpet is in that is. Yippee! Carpet!!
ReplyDeleteOh such pretty pretty dishes! My mama and I were collecting that blue garland haviland. I just love it! I cannot remember is she has it all now or if we gave it to my sister. Her house burned down and she lost everything. Her wedding china, everyday and holiday china were crumbs. So, I know when mama downsized she gave her a complete set of china.
ReplyDeleteDD (the most precious little diva who is doing quite well btw, just practiced her piano and is getting ready for me to take her to school) is getting the Johnson Bros Blue Willow which is what my mom uses for everday. She is not ready to part with it yet, and DD is not ready to use it.
I love love love your faux Johnson Bros. Oh, I think I have said that already....
I hope you'll get over your stomach bug soon. That is no fun when there is so much good holiday food to be eating.
ReplyDeleteMy mother has always insisted that every china cabinet and dish closet be emptied every fall and all dishes be washed by hand with Joy detergent. I'll send her to help you. :)
Girl you have a Tablescape explosion going on over there! Please, please tell me what is a Little Richard?
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better soon dear!
I TOLD you that you needed a warehouse to store all of your pretty china! Yawn, once again, I was right.

ReplyDeleteI would love to come help - I love messing with dishes. Let's see - can I get a $10 round trip ticket to Houston this afternoon; and I'll be right there to help you while you get over your stomach bug. What??? ReplyDeleteHappy Holidays to you and your family.
Sondra
Shelia dear, there are levels of disorganized. You are at the height of organized disorganization. All you need to complete the project (godawful task)facing you is an island on wheels that you can stack your organized stacks on and roll them to their new and spiffed up location.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon.
I have the Rose Bouquet dishes from Johnson Brothers too! I found it in a filthy old box at a church garage sale for $15 and it just captured my heart:>) I LOVE all your dishes!
ReplyDeleteI wish I could come help you put some of those away! Then I could see your lovely new floor and your beautiful Christmas tree in person! That really does look like a lot of work, dear Shelia. I do hope you aren't trying to do that all by yourself!
