I've Been Blinded!!

Oh, Dear Ones! I have a story to tell!! I have truly been blinded! As I've told you in the past, we're doing some updating to our home. Well, at the moment I'm working on the dining room and living room and my windows have been nekked (Texan for naked) since the spring. Do you see all those boxes on the floor? Well, honies, I got blinded! I am so excited!
Do you see the nekked windows? Well, there are some mini blinds, but they just don't count! Nekked nekked windows ~ how embarrassing is that? Even Chloe Dawn is ashamed of them...see her turning her most gorgeous little black fuzzy face?

Now this shot truly shows the nekkedness!! Oh, don't fret...the carpet will be changed soon! I do love my green walls, but these nekked windows in the dining room are humiliating!

I'm almost ashamed to take you into the living room ~ more nekked windows!

I wonder what the neighbors think? I'm not going to say a word about all of this nekkedness to them!

Oh, my goodness! The utter shame of this living room's nekkedness!

What is it, Chloe Dawn? Someone is ringing the doorbell!! Who could it be? Oh joy ~ it's the blind hanging man! Oh, no no Nannette, this man is not blind, he can see very well. No no, he is not a criminal ~ and he will not be hanged by the neck until dead. He is here to hang my new blinds in these very nekked windows!

See? I told you I've been blinded! Hallelujah!

So much better? I surely think so. Next will come draperies! Dear Ones, I heard a few of you gasping at those dining chairs. Please don't hurt my feelings, these are very old ~ 32 years old to be exact. They are not my chair of choice and I've finally convinced Mr. Precious we need "new" chairs, not embarrassing chairs. That's another story for another day! Back to the nekkedness!

Here we go again! I've been blinded in the living room too!

My little chair is so happy now! She was just beside herself sitting by the nekked window! Now she is smiling! See? You would have thought she had been blinded too!

Life is good! I've been blinded! I can sit in my little chair and know my windows have been cured of their nekkedness! I can even spy on my neighbors a little, but I'll have to tilt the blinds just a bit so they won't see me!

I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~

Look Through Any Window
Look through any window, yeah
What do you see
Smiling faces all around
Rushing through the busy town
Where do they go
Moving on their way
Walkin' down the highways and the byways
Where do they go
Moving on their way
People with their shy ways, and their sly ways
Oh, You can see the little children all around
Oh, You can see the little ladies in their gowns, when youLook through any window, yeah
Any time of day
See the drivers on the roads
Button down their heavy loads
Where do they go
Moving on their way
A driving down the highways, and the byways
Where do they go
Moving on their way
Drivers with their shy ways, and their sly ways
Oh, You can see the little children all around
Oh, You can see the little ladies in their gowns, when you
Look through any window, yeah
What do you see
Smiling faces all around
Rushing through the busy town
Where do they go
Moving on their way
Moving on their way

  6. Welcome back. I'm glad things seem to be just fine your way.

The blinds look good. The blindman did a great job and now you have some privacy and the windows are not nekked. Chloe seems to approve too.

  65. Dear Shelia, please know that many people are praying for you. I check your blog a couple of times a day, and find myself thinking of you each day and wondering what you may be facing. I keep reading news reports about the damage suffered by Galveston and can't help but feel great concern for the condition of your lovely home. If something serious has happened, please know that God and all of your friends here are with you.

Remember Psalm 30.5: "weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning"

During the darkest moments, remember Dietrich Bonhoeffer's wonderful poem:

By gracious powers so wonderfully sheltered,
and confidently waiting come what may,
we know that God is with us night and morning,
and never fails to greet us each new day.

Yet is this heart by its old foe tormented,
    still evil days bring burdens hard to bear;
Oh, give our frightened souls the sure salvation
for which, O Lord, You taught us to prepare.

And when this cup You give is filled to brimming
with bitter suffering, hard to understand,
we take it thankfully and without trembling,
out of so good and so beloved a hand.

Yet when again in this same world You give us
the joy we had, the brightness of Your Sun,
we shall remember all the days we lived through,
and our whole life shall then be Yours alone.
