Oh, I'm so happy today to be able to share some of my unending joy with you!
Last week a package appeared on my doorstep and it was for me!! I was so excited! I quickly picked it up and carried it to the kitchen. You know I can't open a package unless I'm in the kitchen!
Well, my dear sweet friend Jan at http://jt-jantom.blogspot.com/ sent me a present...just because she was thinking about me! I am so honored and feel so blessed to have her as my friend. Wasn't that the sweetest thing? Just because she was thinking of me...thank you so much, Jan! Now, let's see what she sent me! Commence with the opening...
Oooooo, this is so much fun!
I pulled out three parcels wrapped in bubble wrap. I'll take care of that funfilled popping material afterwhile, I thought to myself!
Oh, look what came from the little brick shaped box ~ the most precious little rooster napkin rings you've ever seen! Four of them!
Look at the label...it appears to be vintage. Just adorable!
The second parcel held a very elegant couple! This couple being rooster and hen, of course! Don't they look so proud? I'm sure they were strutting all over the hen yard!
Now, this little lady told me her name was Prissy! Hello, dear feathered one and welcome to my kitchen!
This proud yard bird told me his name was Pete! He is a little stuck on himself, if you know what I mean. Look at that beak stuck up in the air!
Oh, my goodness! As I opened the last parcel...my heart skipped ten beats!! Have you ever seen such a pretty little deviled egg dish? This one is very small and will hold only six egg halves. Just perfect for Mr. Precious and I! I think I'll name her Lilly~
I couldn't wait and just had to put fresh eggs in the cups. See little Lilly's face just light up!
Oh, what treats, what marvelous happiness and joy I feel today! I am thrilled to the rafters! Thank you so much, dear Jan for thinking of me. Anyone else in Blogland who wants to 'think' of me in this way ~ go ahead, please, I can take it! ;)
Now, little Lilly would never feel complete if she couldn't fulfill her purpose in life! I quickly had to make some deviled eggs to fill up her little cups. Look at all the joy and satisfaction on her little lily brown face!
Can you see the twinkle in her little eyes? By the time I had finished filling her cups with the deviled eggs, she was humming "Oh, Happy Day"!
Well, just look, wouldn't you be pleased to have these delectable incredible edible egg tasties in your cups!
One more look at the most beautiful fulfilled Lilly!
Alas, eggs don't keep very long sitting on the countertop. So I had to wrap Miss Lilly up in Saran Wrap so she could sit in the fridge and wait until dinner time. Don't worry, I did poke a few breathing holes in the Saran Wrap so she could wouldn't suffocate!

Now, this is totally for your viewing pleasure!

Now, I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Thank You For Being A Friend
Thank you for being a friend
Traveled down the road and back againy
our heart is true you're a pal and a confidant
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And if you threw a party
Invited everyone you knew
You would see, the biggest gift would be from me
and the card attached would say,
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend
If it's a car you lack
I'd surely buy you a cadillac
Whatever you need, anytime of the day or night
I'm not ashamed to say
I hope it always will stay this way
My hat is off, won't you stand up and take a bow
And when we both get older
With walking canes and hair of gray
Have no fear, even though it's hard to hear
I will stand real close and say,
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Let me tell you bout a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
And when we die and float away
Into the night, the Milky Way
You'll hear me call, as we ascend
I'll see you there, then once again
Thank you for being a friend
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend(I want to thank you)
Thank you for being a friend
Whoa, tell you about a friend
(Thank you right now, for being a friend)
Thank you for being a friend
(I wanna tell you right now, and tell you again)
Thank you for being a friend
(I wanna thank you, thank you, for being a friend)
Thank you for being a friend

Such wonderful gifts! I love all your new fowl friends. And those eggs certainly look tasty. I think I'll make some myself today. Mine will go into a boring and practical Tupperware egg holder though.

LMAO! I should have cropped that out! It wasn't a Pull Up! It was my Depends! Just kidding.
ReplyDeleteYou are hysterically funny. Now I know why my friends Justine, Bridget and Suzannne/Buffie keep raving about you.
It was fun, believe it or not. But I couldn't get the pics without the flash for some reason. When I tried without the flash the pics came out all twirly. Yes, twirly. So I tried to hide the camera so you wouldn't see the flash. Oh well. My daughter kept yelling I'm finished! I'm finished!
I love the gifts you got. Those napkin rings are precious. And the roosters, especially the egg holder. I laughed when I saw the raw eggs in it. Then laughed harder when I saw you made deviled eggs! Good for you! They looked yummy.
Your friend Jan is very generous. How sweet of her.
Your chicken items are very nice. I couldn't ate one of the deviled eggs...but, hmmm, not on my diet!

Sheila...I've noticed something...a trend you could say. It is simply this: no matter what you post about, no matter the topic or if there are pictures or not...I ALWAYS read your posts with a smile on my face. I noticed that today. When I was finished I realized I had been grinning the whole time. You have that lovely effect on the people who come by to see you each day. Pretty cool if you ask me.
ReplyDeleteThe deer in the headlights photo made it two days in a row! I guess my grandma was right, I am a hunk!
ReplyDeleteThose eggs look rather tasty. If I didn't live a bazillion miles away from you I would invite myself over. I do free gardening work for food! And I will garden in a muscle shirt if it includes dessert!
Have a great day all!
I am having a Giveaway Contest.

Buddy Holly WAS from Lubbock...I have an upcoming posting about him.
ReplyDeleteNo..Glenna didn't do the Holly statue that is located here in Lubbock. A Utah sculptor, Grant Speed did the work.
love, bj
oh, and the deviled egg must have been pretty slippery...it slid right off into Cyber Space and I didn't get even one bite !!
Hi Sheila,
ReplyDeleteOh I love all your treasures. You are a lucky girl. I especially love those chicken napkin holders. I have some wooden ones that are sweet but I love that milky white. Deviled eggs are one of my favorites.
What wonderful surprises!! And those deviled eggs look wonderful too!
ReplyDeleteLove the divas...male and female!! This is such fun!!
Love,
Sue
Sheila, it's me, Jeanne, at the terrible hour of 2:00AM. sending you a comment. Yep, I'm awake, all by myself. Bill is sleeping at the other end of the house with Babette, our poodle. He has the pager my sisters gave me, in case I need help. One little push on the button and he,ll come running. Just like the song. Smile. I think I'll let him sleep.
ReplyDeleteI can't thank you enough for your faithful comments while I am going through this painful surgery. I have finally reached a point where I feel up to visiting and posting a little. Whew! what a trip. My dh did such a good job holding down the fort. Believe me, He is not the care giver in this relationship. Yesterday he asked what I wanted for supper. I said, "I don't know, I haven't had lunch yet!" "What?" He forgot to feed me lunch and it was now suppertime. LOL. Good thing I wasn't hungry. He simply didn't think about it. I just have to ask.
I love your gift post today. Adorable. Those eggs did make me hungry. Jan is a darling. And I can't forget to comment on your beauty snappers. The guy is priceless. You are priceless Sheila!
Blessings and love to you girl and to your fun look at life. I truly love that about you, my friend.
Jeanne
Shelia sweetie, I'm having a give away and hope you can join in on the fun too when you get a chance!
ReplyDeleteAmanda (aka Cottage Contessa)

Oh, what a hoot you are!!!! I enjoyed reading through your blog so much. We spent 30 minutes trying to get a diva picture of my baby girl in the bathroom- still working on it. We were laughing so hard, we had to stop and be silly for a while. Thanks for the smile!
ReplyDeleteOh, more wonderful gifts! Just right for a special lady. Thanks for sharing them with us. ~Adrienne~
