Come On A My House...

...I'll give you candy! Well, actually I don't have any candy, but I do have some peanut butter cookies! I'm so glad you've popped back in for a visit. Sit down and we'll have a nice little chat.

If you know me very well, you know I kinda love the roosters. They're so silly and cute! But roosters can be elegant, too ~ see these pretty little dishes? Too bad all I have of this design are the dessert plates.
Would you like a glass of peach tea? That's about all Mr. Precious and I drink with our meals. Those pink depression glasses are very old and even have a few bubbles in the glass.

Now look at this cute little sugar scuttle. I had never seen one of these, or if I had, didn't know what it was until I saw my friend, Susan (MoonlightandMagnolias at Rate My Space) had one. You must go visit her. She has the most beautiful dishes and really knows how to set up vignettes. Well, I was out junk shopping and saw this one and just knew I had to have it! So here it is in all it's little silver glory ~ minus the sugar scoop. I just put in one of my little spoons.

Would you like another peanut butter cookie?

How about a little more ice in your peach tea? Do you like how I'm using the little crystal candy dish? It's just perfect for a few cubes of ice, don't cha think?

Don't you just love cookie parties?

Yes, my little Chloe Dawn, you may have a puppy cookie, too!

Now I'll leave you with a little Note Song ~
Come On-a My House

  2. What a beautiful table you've set. I have never seen a sugar scuttle but it's really elegant! I like the idea of the candy dish keeping some ice cubes in it too! I wish I had your touch. When I post my heritage dinner later this month maybe you could help me figure out how to make my table look as inviting as yours! I mean it, I don't have a knack for this but I love to see it done.

  3. Hi Sheila -
Oh I wish I could knock on your door, sit down with you at your beautiful table and have a good visit. Your things are just wonderful and you have put them together so well. I love the way you serve up ice. Clever. And nice - very nice. I'll have to 'steal' that idea.

  11. Good Afternoon Sheila, I had a lovely time at your cookie party. You bake the most divine Peanut Butter cookies. I haven't had a good homemade one in years. I have never seen anything as cute as those floral rooster plates. Those were quite a find. Can you believe that I just bought a sugar scuttle this week? Never had one until now.
